The resort is a really good space with beach access (though not exactly a private beach, but close enough).

Pros.
1. Lots of open space, greenery.
2. Easy access to the beach.
3. Paid access to many facilities such as badminton, tennis, arts and crafts.
4. Breakfast menu is decent and the spread has good number of items, but doesn't change much.

Cons.
1. Very poor network, especially if you're on Airtel. The wifi is also very patchy, so if you plan to make a vacation with a little bit of work, then look elsewhere.
2. The property is slightly dated. So don't expect state of the art facilities.
3. Room maintenance is not that great. The day we checked in, we found the room a little stinking. But after we kept the balcony door open, it seemed fine.

Giving it a 3 star due to the first 2 cons. Below par wifi is definitely not acceptable in these times.

Only room is nice rest all are bad.

Only room is nice rest all are bad.
The private beach property, sitting seats are very dirty, one cant think to use them. The activity sheet provided to you is only a cheat. Pool is not well maintained.
The most important thing the staff cordination is very poor. they dont know how to work in a professional manner. they look like two star category hotel staff. No idea to host the customers they have. i had chargef at goa 23000/- for one room one night stay.. 19000 + by make my trip and 3000 at the hotel. I strongly recommend to all customers or guests please dont stay there and dont waste your money. or yes the food quality very very bad. i think they have no shef only desi halwaies are prepairing food for guests. we feel like eating food at very bad marriage party. we stayed for four nights at goa at different hotels like hard rock, goa marriot, taj agauda but this resort Caravela need to have training from the above said hotels rest kids room is very old one. half toys were not working. please dont waste your money please

One of the best resorts/hotels I've come across. Thanks for making my honeymoon all the more memorable.

Pros

Sparkling clean, sparsely crowded private beach

Palatial rooms with amazing balcony view

Splendid gardens with walking on the grass allowed

Shacks and cots at the beach, pool and in the garden itself if you're too lazy to walk back to your room (it's so beautiful outside you'd probably not quite want to go back either)

Amazing (with a capital A) food. Usually the package covers free buffet for breakfast and one other meal so you can it all that's on the menu that day.

Very polite and helpful staff

A travel desk to help you with all your travel or sightseeing related matters (though the resort is so good you'd not quite want to leave it for anywhere)

All other facilities like swimming pool, spa, gym etc are top of the line.

Cons

There is no lift

All in all, you won't want to come back once you're here. Excellent value for money and a great experience. Highly recommended.

It is a beautiful property and quite huge so good to walk about... The rooms are basic and small but clean. However you will not find them "extraordinary" - the room design is nothing to boast about and pretty minimalist. There's not a lot of space inside the room - but if you utilize the balcony, it'll feel really open and airy. The bathtub is also standard - no frills. There's no emergency phone on the bathroom and that's a bit scary in case you have a fall in the tub like I did. There are bath mats but accidents can still occur. The bathroom is equipped with a hair dryer and the room has a kettle + ample charging points. Cell range is limited but their WiFi is pretty good. Most of the time we just called each other on WhatsApp. There's no iron in the room but their laundry services are reasonable.

Food:- all the restaurants weren't open for to COVID - we had the breakfast plan - Breakfast buffet - they have a decent spread with 3 live counters - one for omelette, one for pancakes & waffles and one for dosa/ south Indian food. There's the usual sausages, eggs, an assortment of muffins, cakes and doughnuts. They have fresh fruit, cheese, 3 juices, cereals, etc. Whatever you can think of, that have some version of it. The food containers were regularly topped. I'd advise going to breakfast early as the crossed really fills in around 9:30. That's enough variety for everyone.
Lunch:- we have lunch a couple of times and tried their chicken cafreal, xacuti , paneer Tikka, etc. The ala carte food is tasty - portion size felt a bit under at times. If you want to order cafreal as a nation course, ask them to make it semi-dry. It usually comes as a starter and is quite dry. The prices start from 500 so it does become an expensive affair but the food is pretty delicious so we ended up having it there.

Property- this is what you're paying an high price for - while the property is really pretty- most of the things are closed due to COVID. not the fault of the resort of course but you do feel the pinch. The swimming pool ( and the bar), spa, etc are closed so you don't get to enjoy any of that. What it also means is most of the crowd ( and yes, there is crowd. The resort hasn't decreased it's intake capacity) is on the beach. The beach is right outside the property - I don't think it is a private beach , it's just a beach property. But there are enough sun beds and towels so you will be comfortable. The beach is also long so if you walk a bit, you can get away. The sea itself is a bit rough and there are good waves- ideal for water sports but gotta be careful with kids. The property is good for long walks after a heavy meal. There are various points from which you can view the sunset.

Staff:- extremely cordial and firm on their policies. There will be a bit if a wait time for room service as they seem to be operating on reduced staff. But you will get your food eventually. However I always found the staff very helpful and accomodating so kudos on that. I can imagine it would be hard to keep up your morale when you have some impatient customers barking at you

Eateries outside the property- yof have a couple of beach shacks - we went to one named 'Capricon'. It's a 5-10 minutes walk from Caravela's sunset bar. They usually have a 25% off coupon. Just remember to use it when you go to pay the bill ( hard to do so when you are drunk ) they have the usual Goan and Indian food - I'd recommend though that you actually go for the North Indian food here. Their Goan food is a hit-n- miss purely because the chef and staff are from MP so they cook really good naan , butter chicken etc. Stick to the caravela restaurant for Goan. Other places I'd suggest would be Vito's Bar. We also visited Martin's corner ( 25 mins) - it has delicious Goan food. If you're in North Goa - try Spice Goa in Maupsa THE BEST GOAN FOOD EVER! There are also some liquor and general stores plus fruit markets near the church area ( if you have kids and don't want to spend a fortune on fruit platter).

Thumbs up if this review was helpful.

Possibly the best holiday's we had in India. Right from airport pick up and drop, every moment of the 4 days was pleasant and memorable, all thanks to the lovely staff who gave attention to detail.

Great cuisine with food stations and live music, kids thoroughly enjoyed the entertainment room, outdoor space and walks on the beach.

I will certainly recommend it as a must visit resort in Goa for anyone who wants to relax in nature and get away for the city!!!!!

Quite disappointed, its more commercial . It says 5 star property but does not hve the standards of 5 star property, it's far from the city , and you will not hve any travel facility to roam around the city, bad choice, except the beach is good n the outer space is maintained neet

All that glitters is not gold. The only good thing about this resort is that its big. Thats it. Nothing else is special about it. Waste of money. Food is tasteless (literally), in the name of activity they have nothing (honestly), entire staff looks newbies or trainees (in short they are unaccountable - either they are rude or they know nothing), location of resort is so far that you wont feel you are in Goa (everything good and hyped about Goa is in North Goa - don't select South Goa if you are coming alone or with your partner). I suggest in the same room tariff you will find much better property in North Goa.

Private beach. Variety of Good food and drinks. Entire property is neat, clean and maintained. Away from city hustle and bustle. (Provided there is no Big Fat Indian Wedding is happening on the property) pls make sure this before booking as it creates a lot of inconveniences to guests.
Staff is courteous.
Bar and restaurant on beach and in the middle of the big pool (Island Bar) is a bliss.
We enjoyed a lot.

I really enjoyed my stay here... The room service was amazing. We only had some issues when we booked a vehicle from another travel agent. So you might wanna be careful when you stay here and think of booking vehicles from an outside source... But other than that, had a lovely stay

Mesmerizing place. Great comfort. We didn't stepped out of the resort for 4 days. It has everything to keep you engaged, entertained, relaxed. Lot of kids activities available. My kid loved the place. Beautiful sea views specially the sunset.

A hotel which can never be said a 5 star hotel ......

A hotel which can never be said a 5 star hotel .... even a 3-4 star hotel is much better then this. The service of your hotel was very disappointing , the staff members of your hotel were not at all cooperative. They were very rude to the guests . I strongly suggest you to employ trained staff . Guys this experience was very bad and I assure you that I will never suggest anyone for your hotel . Although food n cleanliness was good but this is not the only thing which we demand in a 5 star hotel. Dear honourable members of Ramada group you all need to work very hard otherwise your hotel might get into trouble.

My son's wedding party at Ramada from 21-24 May with about 90 guests[including 30 foreign guests]. It was a great successful event organized with the help of most courteous hotel staff. Everything was done right.Food was great . I shall have no hesitation in telling others that this is a hotel to go to for any party.I will like to mention the Duty Manager Ms Mabel, Chef Mr Saurabh. F&B manager Mr Conny for their valuable support during the entire event. Ramada hotel entire staff, YOU GUYS ROCK. Thanks for making the event a grand success

I travel across the world been to many luxury 5/7 star rated hotel and resort. But this time unfortunately i was staying with Worst hotel management and room service i ever had in any resort is caravela.
Security services is also very poor. They dont even have any luggage scanner, asked us to open all bag on ground for nothing. No bell boy to lead or help us with luggage to out room. They take an hour for couples of cup of tea. And they denied serving coffee saying it will get cold before serving. Basics are not. What do you expect to do them.

The most beautiful grounds, pool and overall atmosphere. The room was ok, dated, but honestly we only stayed in the room to sleep and had a balcony with a splendid view. The service was impeccable, the food buffets are amazing with a variety of Indian and other dishes. Yoga in the morning plus tons of other activities throughout the day. The drinks were good and we found a favorite beer "bira". Overall if you decide to stay here you won't be dissapointed.

We had a wonderful time. Each and every person, right from the reception staff, room service, managers at the restaurants, all were very cheerful and helpful. Everyone made sure that our stay was comfortable.
