The lines going through security are actually pretty efficient. I really like the layout of the airport and their Meeting place area. I do think their terminal signs and all other directional signs could be more visible.
This airport is easy to get around in and had always been clean and on-time when I ve flown in/out. There is one terminal building for all airlines except for Southwest Airlines which has its own terminal. There aren t too many food/drink options here so if you want some good food, you should bring it with you or eat beforehand. Overall, this is one of the better airports in the US.
Airport is slow. Lines are ridiculous. Staff could be friendlier.
It was a really an easy transition......very convient. Overall it was not a bad experience, I will use them again in the future!!!
One of the best airports I have flown in and out of. Very easy to navigate. Very friendly staff. Parking is a pleasure. Rarely do flights leave late unless they are delayed elsewhere. If only more airports were as efficient as RDU.
Recently remodeled. I like the new terminal and the Starbucks that they have. I do wish they had more selection of food and services before going through the gate
Very nice, very modern, very chic. The airport is well designed, bright and spacious. The TSA agents here are strangely kind and treat you as a human even though they are taking their jobs very serious. They don t have that inner city ghetto attitude you get from the agents at a lot of airports. The TSA line took a little longer because they brought in the TSA dog to sniff everyone. The handler was entertaining to watch as he and his partner did their thing to keep bombs and weapons off the planes. Funniest part of this was when the dog queued in on certain people, the moment of panic and / or discomfort was priceless.
Bathrooms were a mess. No soap, only 2 out of 3 men s stalls working and no hand towels. Not what I was expecting.
Love this airport! Has a cool vibe with the hanger look on the inside. I am there regularly and have always had a pleasant experience.
Great airport the TSA officers were really nice and stuff. The place was simple and easy to find in the terminal. Overall no complaints if you have to fly out of this airport its a good one that is simple and easy to navigate around overall no complaints at all
We dropped my daughter off for a flight to Florida on Southwest airlines. The people at Southwest and all through terminal 1 were very kind and helpful.
This review is for the airport in Durham. We went early on a Tuesday morning in early December. The airport was not crowded or confusing. We found it clean and well organized. Be sure to read the signs and know which terminal you are going to 1 or 2, this depends on the airline. The Delta attend was polite, friendly and efficient. Our friend could use, but did not regularly need a wheel chair. We requested one and could not have been happier we did. The airlines hire a wheelchair assistance company to help these passengers. That staff takes care of everything for that passenger, bags, gate, and comfort. She was very pleasant, friendly and helpful.
The drop off of a friend to the Delta terminal was fast and efficient. No problems.
Here s a tip : use the airport app to check on flight delays.
Though the airport is small and not widely have direct flights to the major destinations, it can be still rated a good airport in terms of maintenance and infrastructure.
Easily one of the best airports I've ever flown to/from. Great restaurants and bars while you wait to catch your flight, decent parking prices, and adequate transportation options.
Awesome, recently redone and very modern airport. Security lines can be long early in the morning, but move quickly. Otherwise not long at all!
I'm lucky to have RDU as my home base. Never had a bad experience here - it's beautiful, clean and efficient. It's kept up well with the Triangle's growth as even on Friday afternoon you can get to your gate without much delay. Security is very well done. Even when the line gets long, it's moving. Good local places to eat or drink. I highly recommend connecting through RDU!
Pretty grate airport, last time I did had a 12 hour delay
Gates is easy to find, I found the facilities too be very clean.
Got through pretty quick when I arrived late. Was able to make my flight with 5 mins to spare. I'm grateful
I love this airport, even though my and my wife flew on the Sunday after Thanksgiving through terminal 1 (Southwest airlines) it was really fast and smooth TSA especially now since they have these new machines that doesn't require to take out laptops and tablet computers which makes the lines move so much faster and quicker. The airport was also super clean from the inside and outside & clean restroom (mens bathroom at least)
Smooth, easy to get there. Not much congested drop-off area.
I forgot which lot I had parked in and at 1 in the morning its alittle scare walking around. Maxine at parking lor3 Not only helped me find where I had parked lot 4. She called and asked James to take me to my truck. James was very nice and took me right to my truck helped me load my luggage. With out Maxine and James. I probably would still be looking for my truck. I cant begin to say how grateful I am for those 2 peopl . Thank you Maxine and James
Barbara Dec18 at 1 am. They were life savers
Very efficient and quick checking and TSA. Everyone greeted with a hello.
No delays luggage waiting for me when I get off the plane truck parked in the parking garage safe and sound for a week
The travel in and out of RDU was spectacular. So much parking, not congested. Found it easy to navigate. Will be using again.
Difficult to navigate signs leading in to parking. Parking cost for short amount of time was crazy! Really nice place inside, maybe a bit more seating?
My first time flying was from this airport. Everything was so easy and staff were friendly and helpful. Lots of places to eat and shop at and a lot of space. Boarded plane on time and everything went smoothly. I love flying!
If I could give zero stars, I would. They consistently are incapable of managing the amount of people moving through the airport. It is likely you need to arrive 4 hours before your flight so you have time to wait in the security line that wraps around the entire perimeter of the terminal. Additionally, if you have checked a bag, be prepared to wait 30-45 minutes for it to arrive off the carousel. Best wishes!
Easy, clean and straightforward airport, not many chain food if you just wanna get a quick bite after check in.
Such a bad experience with Delta airlines . Gisela from Delta airline counter was worst lady I have ever seen. No smile, no respect. She was checking in like she was doing favor. She even asked if we paid for ticket and asked receipt. Wheelchair request was showing on boarding pass but she said she doesn't see in system. Liar employees of delta. I am not booking with delta again from RDU.
Very clean and everyone was so polite. The restrooms were very clean and the bag check was quick.
Great layout, free wifi, speedy check in. Never had a problem in the five years I've been in the triangle.
Walk here walk there. Lines every where. Total cluster.
A lot of social distancing. The stores have a lot of sales and the food is great. Great customer service.
Small compared to other international airports, which means not much going on inside but it's always pretty fast and easy to get through. Clean and a good layout. It's not hard to find gates here. Just make sure you are in the right terminal, as they are not connected.
Waited at a table 10 minutes before being approached. Finally was, 7:10pm on a Friday, ordered an IPA. Waitress comes back and tells me they only have bud lite. I walk up to the bar where there is bond brothers beer pouring out of two taps and no bartender around... a customer at the bar turns off the tap sheepishly. As I go to sit down another waitress says sorry we re closed . Website says they re open until last departure but clearly not, or they re at best incompetent. Shame to have this represent an awesome local brewery
Every trip using RDU is pleasant, orderly and efficient.
Outstanding modern, clean, easy to navigate international airport.
Southwest agents were very rude and condescending. Overall the staff was unnecessarily aggressive. Not a good experience all around.
An RDU police officer and TSA agent made traveling solo with a 9 month old easier. Very friendly staff and easy airport to navigate.
Great customer service representatives.... And also the Premier Parking was perfect solution.
Pretty empty the afternoon of 6/26/20. Most shops and restaurants are closed. Half an hour for baggage to arrive on the carousel, which seemed odd for the lack of traffic.
I work at RDU , and this is the second time working there , and beat job I've had just about in my 30 year job history .
Good experience. Haven't flown in yrs and was not treated like an idiot working my way through the maze!
The airport is very pretty and has a simple and efficient layout. The parking deck is large and conveniently positioned to access both terminals.
When you walk into the terminal, the signage if clear and easy to understand. That makes getting your bags checked and your tickets much more smooth. This airport isn't huge, so even if you choose the wrong enterance, as long as you are at the correct termial, it's not a problem.
Security is within sight of ticketing and in the center, where you would expect.
The gates are numbered and all in a straight line, making it very simple to find your departure area also.
Nice little airport. Never too busy and had a couple good food choices
It is a nice, clean airport, with some good shops and decent food. The security line can be long, but the past couple of times the line was moving super fast. It might not be worth the trouble of getting TSA Pre after all. But most of all, why is there always so much delay getting back to EWR?
It was a very fun and safe airport I enjoyed going and the flight was fun
Adequate and sufficient staff
Good signage
Preferential cleaning
I felt very comfortable
Wouldn't let me carry my karambit on the plane in uniform....while federal marshals get to carry a gun.......
The new airport is wonderful, but baggage claim can take a long time for later flights. Lots of good connections for an airport of this size. Could use a better system for pickup at arrivals.
Limited hours of operation although the demand is very high which ends up making flights costs really high. The baggage claim is the slowest I have ever dealt with in my whole life. Economy parking is really far. Otherwise it's clean.
Nice Airport. Plane just arrived. Headin back to Georgia!!!!
I enjoyed every second of it's a beautiful airport that definitely has a bright future. I hope you get the chance to fly there!
Nice clean airport, friendly people! But... their luggage claim is consistently abysmally slow. The slowest service I've ever experienced, and that's saying a lot. If you're in a rush don't check your bag coming into RDU, the wait is typically more the 15min.
Right NOW is the best time to travel through RDU! Literally the terminals are at 5-10% capacity and you can walk right up and drove off at the door. Put on your mask and your more then fine. The airlines are doing MORE then they have ever done to clean and sanitize their planes. So why not take advantage of some 30-40% off flights... I know I did and it's the most stress free travel I've ever experienced!!!
This airport, in my experience, is consistently good with their operations in all aspects.
TSA agents treat people here like we not even human. All staff the staff sucks here especially when it comes to your military personnel that is traveling
Very disappointed. No social distancing and American said there was touchless bag check in. Numerous ppl stood in a line 25 mins only to find out we need to be on another line even after we asked questions. The touch less bag check does not work. And we found out the hard way.
Encountered an incredibly racist and rude TSA agent. Not cool RDU!
This is by far the most disorganized airport there is. Better off driving to Charlotte, Greensboro, Fayetteville, or really about any where but RDU. Leaving one star only because I can't leave zero.
