Don't know what the last guy was talking about, because RDU is the best airport in the nation.
TSA are very friendly. Very clean. Best on time performance. Travel to RDU if you can.

Wow, what a great regional airport. Easy to navigate! And lots of choices for food and shopping. Cool architecture!
This airport has to be the easiest airport I have delt with in months. It is smaller; I fly southwest most of the time and that is terminal one here. No crowds TSA was easy and pretty quick. WiFi is a boingo hot spot deal, that seams to work well. There are a few places to pick from to eat nothing that I recognize coming from the west coast, but there are a few options that look good. All and all it a good airport.
What's not to love about RDU? It's by far the easiest airport to fly in and out of or to pick someone up. If you're there for under 30 minutes to meet someone, the parking is free. A little more that that and it's only $1. Terminal 2 sets the standard for what an airport terminal should be with quick and easy check it, bag drop off, and TSA lines. Once the Terminal 1 renovation is complete in 2014, RDU will be even more of a world class airport.
Nothing fancy but small airport and good for quick in and out.
I give three stars for the whole airport itself because it is easy to navigate and there are exciting things to do while your waiting for your flight. The downfall for me is Frontier check in the lady that helped me was very rude and nasty did not have no personality i wish i would have gotten her name but I did not, she was not helpful at all, if she did not want to work she should have stayed home. Other than that I love RDU
Nice airport, good dining options, comfortable seating, and 2 direct flights a day to Europe.
Great little airport, laid out extremely well, ease of getting to a rental car, security isn't much of a hassle, & the people are over all rather nice, & helpful. I wish all airports were like this one.
Easy to navigate and has some good options for food.
I always fly out of RDU. It is a great airport with nice staff and good restaurants and stores. It also has great parking and the lines aren't too long. So next time you want to fly from Charlotte, think about taking the extra 1.5 hours to drive to RDU instead.
My hometown airport so I love it. In terms of business flying, still love it. Southwest has one terminal while the other airlines and the second terminal. Flights domestically and international, all over. We just got a nonstop to London and France- pretty cool. I use RDU for all my personal and business flying.
It's a great facility and staffs give out warm welcomes
South West workers checking bags were fast and friendly. Made it thru security fairly quickly. A few places were open to purchase a soda from.
What an awesome airport we have! Apart from Terminal 1 which is currently getting a much needed overhaul and facelift. Terminal 2 rocks.
RDU like all airports right now are run by inducing fear among its customers with covid restrictions. Too many shops are closed denying amenities and something to do while you wait. RDU will get you going on your journey or be there when you come home but it will not be a pleasant experience.
Best airport I've been to. The layout of the roads and gates are great. Check-ins are mostly hassle free. Contains numerous restaurants that you actually want to eat at. The architecture of the building is really neat.
Best Airport Ever! Always easy to get in and out of. I have flown out of many airports, and this one is the best!
Good experience at Raleigh. They have charging ports and outlets in their waiting area. Can't say that about Denver!
Nice passaway locally and internationally recognized as the great airport at the triangle.
Parking is the worst in the US, RDU has no idea how to run their parking. Signs that tell you parking lot is full is right before the full lots so you have no option but to go all the way back around the Airport, thanks RDU, you made me miss my Aunt's Funeral!
All this talk about free and great wifi is bunk. They have a server company trying to charge for connections and half the time I can connect because their server is not secure. Rest of airport is nice but when your flight is delayed nearly 4 hours and the wifi is crap it's not a good experience
Well Marked, low parking prices and Easy Security Check.
Security is normally really fast and the whole airport has been completely rebuilt in the last 5 or so years. Good selection of car rental companies and flights. Some limited amount of shopping but some good fast food places like 5 guys.
Thank God for the Cell Lot to save money instead of paying for parking while waiting for your family members.
Should you fly out of Terminal 2 on a Sunday, be aware that there is not one place open to get a drink, food, candybar.... or even a Crumb! Ridiculous and highly irratated since i couldnt eat before coming to the airport. Been here since 6 pm looking for even a vending machine.
I love the new terminals; they're so beautiful, and most of the time they function pretty well (but for the lack of selection in pre-security stores and services). But NOW, we learn, the Airport Authority's answer to a complex parking issue is to... (ta-dah).... make parking MORE COMPLEX- and EXPENSIVE!- with their new premier, economy, standard, book online, buy insurance, etc, blah blah blah "options." Whose idea was this? Did someone need a job for a relative, so we made RDU parking even more of a hassle so that someone could be hired to handle it? Is this what happens when suits start taking "monetarization of our business assets" too seriously and forget that their main job is to operate a safe, clean, efficient facility IN THE PUBLIC INTEREST???
I'm used to driving to CLT to take advantage of some better airfares there; one of the side advantages is that parking is cheaper and better than at RDU. Recently got back from an international flight that terminated at Dulles because the RDU options were too expensive- and lo and behold, parking is cheaper and easier THERE, too! Bigger cities, more complex problems, yet easier and cheaper parking? I didn't have to worry about 37 options for booking online, or by telegraph, or what have you- just showed up and pushed the button for a ticket? Someone (or some Board of Directors) in the RDU organization needs to learn from bigger and better airports- or tender their resignation(s) to make way for people who know what the job is about.
The terminal and facilities get four stars (beautiful, comfy, need more services). The new parking and management get two (morons). Hence, a three-star review seems to be a fair overall rating.
Fast processing of luggage upon arrival. Clean and efficient
RDU is actively trying to destroy the forests and parks around the airport. They have no care for the interests of the community.
Easy to navigate and plenty of space for social distancing. Staff are friendly and efficient.
Nice and small airport. It has a very clean feeling.
Very unprofessional staff. So disappointed that an airport that appeared to be nice had the most unprofessional and rude staff working the American Airlines gates. I was embarrassed for them. Customer service and professionalism training is very much needed.
I have to start by saying that this is not about the airport. The airport experience has been smooth. For that am grateful. The only thing was a restaurant inside this airport (Whisky River) I sat in one of their chairs at the restaurant and the waitress was very rude about it. I understand that this sits are for their customers only but they are ways of letting people know is against their policy for others to even have a sit in their restaurant.
A nice, small, modern airport with enough amenities to make the time pass by. My only complaint was the WiFi, which had a very weak signal and sometimes couldn t connect. All airport staff was very nice, and I d certainly fly though here again.
It's an awesome airport best airport I've ever been too.
Clean and easy to quickly get through security and such.
Though this is our home port, it is a favorite. Plenty of direct flights originate from RDU. The airport is well maintained, there are plenty of shops and restaurants for waiting passengers. Employees are trained to be helpful.
Very nice and clean modern Terminal 2. Decent places to eat and shop. No problems with security
Airport is clean and check in staff is ok. TSA security is extremely slow and baggage claim is even slower. As quick as they are to charge you for things, you would think your things would arrive sooner. Prepare to wait at baggage claim for a solid 20-25 min.
For the service and reception they gave me upon arrival
I like this airport. It's not too big and is easy to find your way around. Good restaurant selection and comfortable waiting areas. The airline ticket agents are very nice but as others have said the security checkpoint guards are very rude and impatient. Just because they are in the airport everyday doesn't mean everyone else is. People don't know all the rules and regulations. It's so easy to be polite and help people out instead of intimidating and or embarrassing them. The airport should really have someone that checks these things. Maybe have a secret fake passenger go thru and see for themselves the attitudes their security checkpoint people have. I'm not saying they are all rude but a majority and higher ups need to know.
The employees here need to understand that not all travelers are frequent travelers. Some people may be unsure of the process & where to go & what is proper & what is not . The staff here especially in front at loading & unloading yell at people & blow their horns. I will avoid this airport whenever possible .
It was a smooth entry/exit but I literally dislike going to airports my nerves can't take it
Not to bad for airports, easy to check in but the security line isnt as fast.
This is a great place to find flights. Probably the best place to find international flights in the triangle area.
Easy to get in and out. Beautiful terminals with lots of food and drink options.
Great airport but the luggage delivery is extremely slow.
Airport was great as always even with COVID restrictions. American Airlines on the other hand...not so much
Early morning flight no lines everything went smooth!
I like RDU TAXI because the drivers are courteous, safe and entertaining people. I will continue to ride RDU TAXI!
Flew United Airlines to Newark New Jersey had not flow in 30 years. Once I arrived at the curb the parking enforcement was watchful ,but relaxed traffic flowed smoothly as I entered in the Terminal which just had been totally remodeled to resemble a plane hangar honoring First in Flight. RDU is a small effective airport that fits the needs of the area. The Employee's and Security for the most part did an excellent job. Military precision with the take off time. Overall I'm happy about the new airport terminals that my tax money help construct.
We'll, it's an airport. Nice to see food places opening again.
Beautiful and efficient mid-sized airport. I would highly recommend flying in/out of here.
Easiest airport to get in and out of. If you are ten to,g
For an international airport that is a larger one in NC it is pretty dissappointing. It gets 3 stars because parking is reasonable and easy to find, with frequent shuttles to the airport. It also is relatively easy to navigate. However, many parts are in disrepair, with multiple escalators not working, moving walkways not working, closed stalls in restrooms, and some areas with really shabby seats. The food options close really early. At around 6:30pm the only eating options in the entire C/D concourse that were open were either sit-down restaurants not suitable for people in a hurry or wanting to spend less money, and the California Pizza Kitchen, which was out of pizza and only had 2 sandwich options, a soup, and some snacks. Even the convenience stores for snacks were closed. Also, there are BARELY any outlets or charging stations near the gates, and they're generally all taken. (My gate in a large flight had 2 charging stations and around 4 outlets for the entire gate area.)
It is a relatively small, hassle-free and new airport, clean and generally efficient, negative points are that it has very few international flights and no fast public transport connection.
Recently I experienced a very slow baggage delivery service, we waited more then 1 hour and it was late night. Also, some of the parking lots are too expensive thinking about the importance of the airport.
Clean and nice looking inside. Nice people and though there are few food options it's still a decent airport.
