Terrible food, terrible service by our waiter. We only had an appetizer which smelled terrible and tasted worse. Everyone on Ambergris Caye has been friendly and helpful - except this server. The food on Ambergris Caye has been AMAZING - except for at Rain. The restaurant itself was beautiful with a beautiful view, but if you go stick to drinks - they were good!

I unfortunately did not get pictures as it was quite dark in the restaurant.
The food is super delicious, like really really good. And the price was very good as well. I was surprised at the price and quality compared to other places.
The bacon wrapped fig appetizer was very good and so was the salad I had (fruit, cheese, arugula and chicken). So good! The staff were attentive and friendly as well.
Only complaint was we didn t find this place sooner!
It's posh, so if that's what you're looking for them you'll like it. The food was a tad better in quality and presentation that most places. But I prefer the more laid back local islands cuisine and relaxed still of service elsewhere.
Meh minus. The grouper was over-cooked as was the molten lava cake. Lobster bisque has zero flavor and the service was really sub-par. Do yourself a favor and check out any other restaurant on this strip.
The restaurant charged my card a month after I ate there. This is horrible business practice. The food was mediocre and overpriced and the delayed charge just made it completely unworthy of the time and money my partner and I spent there.
Expensive but very high quality. Had them make me a curry with fish that wasn't on the menu. They executed my request very, very well and I was thoroughly satisfied. Drinks were good as well. They had an extensive wine list but I didn't partake in those although my party said it was a little overpriced (as wine regularly is).
We went for late night cocktails and were so impressed by the quality. The atmosphere was sexy and fun. Service was the best we ve experienced. The view and setting were perfect. Highly recommend
Rain Restaurant..panoramic, scenic rooftop views of both the sea and lagoon. One of the best skytop views available. The ambiance is airy, peaceful and delightful. Now; the food and drinks are on the pricey side hence the 4 out of 5 stars from this money watcher however, it is almost erased by the very tasty and cooked properly food and balanced drinks. Evident the cooks and bartender know what they are doing. Have some extra cash? Go there for a guaranteed good experience.
Not even staying at the resort but have been to this restaurant 8 times lol. Everything is literally perfect. Perfect view, perfect proffesional and kind staff, all the different food i tried was perfect in presentation, and perfect in flavor and taste. Even the drinks are amazing. This place is amazing and a must see in San pedro. Probably the best place to eat hands down.
Food is excellent. Steaks are flown in from Kansas. View of sunset is to die for. Great for group s or romantic dinner. Bar has extensive selection of wine and liquor. Met the owner super cool guy.
Great variety in the place, generous portions and prices that are consistent with the dishes. Pasta, polite and very rich desserts. There is a variety of champagne to enjoy
Rain is probably the best restaurant in Belize. Chef Hugo puts out consistently great food. The wine selection is excellent comparative to what you normally find in Belize and the bottles have been properly cared for at the right temperature.
Very rude. I went in one evening at 4:45 pm. The place was empty. I asked for a table. They said would like a sit at the bar? I said no thanks, I prefer table. They told me I could only sit at the bar, as there were reservations. I asked to speak to the manager more then one once, he or she never came out to speak to me. I left. Went to eat at Crocs (awesome place).... Just to confirm my suspicions, stopped back in at Rain after eating and place was still empty.
A great rooftop bar and restaurant that has fantastic 180 degree views of both the east and west side of San Pedro Island. A great place to watch the sunset in the evening. Friendly staff and a good selection of foods. They may get busy during the peak season, so you can also make reservations
The food was amazing the staff was super cool and laid back. I got the ribeye which was cooked perfectly a way bigger than 8 ounces and hubby got the garlic lobster tails. The lobster tails were huge and amazing all under a 100 USD!!!!
Decent food. A little pricey. Great view of the island. Remember when dining in Belize, they are on "Belize time" and it takes longer than when dining in the US.
Outstanding, just phenomenal experience. Check sunset times and arrive 20-30 minutes ahead of that. We sat at the southwest corner table 420 and our sunset view was spectacular. Even better, the helicopter service brought some people in around that time and landed at the helipad across the street so we got a good view of that. The food was exemplary. We started with wine and the white walker drink (highly recommended) and the conch fritters. Lobster was out of season but we asked for the mango habanero sauce to go with our fritters. The chicken parmesan and spaghetti dinner I had was the right amount of food and was as good as any I've had at an Italian place. So good! My kids had the fettuccini with shrimp and my wife had the Snook fish with rice. Everybody loved their food. The dessert was also primo: chocolate lava cake.
Oscar was our waiter so ask for him. He was an excellent server for us and highly recommended. Don't miss out on this Rain sunset dinner experience. Best food I have had on Ambergis.
Best if not only 360 views of the island.. full wine list which is hard to find on Ambergris. So far everything I've ordered has need exceptional. Upscale and modern with cocktails to match. Perfect "date night" place. Not to be missed.
Views are incredible, but the food and service experience was really underwhelming, especially for how highly it's priced. Reviews others seem to have had didn't match our experience.
Rain is one of the best if not the best restaurant/bar on the island of Ambergris Caye. They have great food and a wonderful atmosphere. Almost every night they have live musicians playing local songs.
One of the best features of Rain is their rooftop terrace. No where else on the island can you get such a great view. It is perfect for romantic sunset dinners.
Rain is a must go if you are vacationing or staying on Ambergris Caye!
Super average food for pretty high prices. So underwhelming. My husbands steak was overcooked and an awful cut of meat while my curried shrimp came out lukewarm and lacked flavor. There are so many yummy places on the island, I would not recommend this one!
we start by walking in asking to sit in an area that looked nice we where denied that request. We settled for an area with no view cause we hadn t had anything to eat all day the waiter greets I ask for bread before we order he said sure I ll be back to take your order shortly then for ten minutes he s chatting it up with the hostess he finally comes back he takes our order and I have to ask him a second time for bread and butter he said I told you it s coming super rude but okay the food might be good so I don t get upset the food took a solid 30min to get to our table it looked good I thought I might enjoy this meal I was wrong I had the Chicken Parmesan... I had to spit the chicken out several times mean while the hostess is playing the most vulgar vile music in the background from her own playlist and that tells you what kind of woman she is but I ll leave the lyrics out of this to save your braincells anyway as I m at this now awkward meal with my family my uncle offers me some of his steak now this is a 50$ Ribeye so it must be good I ve never tasted such a disgusting ribeye that steak shouldn t even be fed to my dog much alone humans the ribeye tasted like the trash you smell being burnt around San Pedro absolutely disgusting place I can go on longer but I m sure you get the point this place has DISGUSTING MUSIC, HORRIBLE SERVICE, POOR FOOD, BAD RESTAURANT OVERALL!!!!!!
This simply because our food & service was nowhere near as good as our 3 visit. However with that being said our overall experience during our stay was 4-stars service
A fine restaurant with a beautiful view, Rain provided my group of three with the best meal we have had, not only in Belize but anywhere in a while.
Let's get the negatives out of the way:
- It was a bit warmer than we would have liked - There were a ton of mosquitoes for a short period right at sunset - There were clouds on the horizon, somewhat obstructing the end of the sunset
Of course, none of this could be controlled by the excellent staff at Rain. (They even had OFF bug spray for anyone who asked) The staff was very attentive and professional.
On to the meal: We started with both the Grouper Cakes and the Clams and Mussels a la Champagne and both were excellent. The sauce on the clams was sublime.
For our entrees we enjoyed lobster Thermidor, Bleu Cheese encrusted Filet Mignon and Cashew Encrusted Grouper. All three meals were excellently prepared and delicious.
We finished off the meal with an out of this world carrot cake and coffee.
The entire meal, including cocktails, came in right around $215, which is on the high side for Belize but incredibly inexpensive compared to similar meals in the States.
Before leaving we already decided that if and when we return to Belize, Rain will be one of our must-have stops.
The most touristy place we've been on the island. Very expensive, especially compared to local food, and not nearly as good. If you're going for the view just get a drink and find dinner somewhere else.
We had the almond crusted grouper and sesame crusted tuna. Washed it all down with a funky monkey. Delicious. Great upscale place, a bit on the expensive side.
I had to waddle the 1/4 mile back to my cabana after eating at Rain. I had the lobster tail and calamari and it was the best meal I have had so far!! I thought the service was top notch and the hostesses were extremely kind as they explained to me that the bill was in American dollars (unlike every other place I had been). The view...oh the view and in all honesty, I am not much of a drinker so 2 cocktails made me a happy girl. Rain is amazing, if you have the opportunity you should definitely go.
The rooftop view is spectacular. Its the perfect place for cocktails and watching the sunset. Then savor a delicious dinner under the stars. Food is always incredible and the menu is varied. My favorite place on the island!
The views are the reason for any stars, very very beautiful views, incredible really, but the food, drink, and atmosphere is lacking for the price. Still, you could do worse.
This is a dual restaurant 1 kitchen deal, so I applaud them for allowing me to order a French onion soup from the beneath restaurant(evoo). But the French onion soup came with no melted cheese 0% , only 2 baugette chips. It was ehh OK broth. Directly after that the mosquito's came with a vengeance we didn't even order an entre because the bites were so bad. Matter of fact I waited in the bathroom until my business partner was done with the check business. We should've just ate at the lower restaurant (evoo) but the French onion presentation was weak. It was more like au jus with onion, can't call it French Onion.
A lot talk about this restaurant... I'm sorry is definitely NO GO!!! The service have no idea about what is about the food and drinks., I have ask about onion allergy and is coming meals and clams with onion! The Alfredo "handmade" pasta with lobster...with cream...and pasta was incredible . .. no chance. About the Martini. is a very Comic situation...4 time the waiter too the Barkeeper have ask me about Martini cocktail or gin and more ..i need only Martini Bianco!! !Never one is coming about the wine service !...lobster and snapper fish was ok. But we have waited more as that. I'm Sorry really don't go I was in Cuba last year, 10000 more better .. #kempinski #Havana. I think who was hier for dinner,, don't have any idea about the Culture Food and Wines..And for example a white wine Falanghina from South Italy x 130$!!! crazy ....the wine is not more as 20/30$....every where !
