A nice boutique hotel. Service is great, the rooms are a bit small but functional, and the location is prime.
The hotel was beautiful, the staff was fantastic and the rooftop bar was amazing.
Small rooms, too small in some cases. Hot water takes a lot of time to finally come out. Our room has a constant ventilator like noise.
Service is good as is the location.
Excellent hotel, great location.Personnel attentive and polite staff.Recommended without reservations.
Very nice, great service, great happy hour at the rooftop bar
Charming hotel with modern interior design, clean and sleek. It is just a block away from the Observation deck and water tower. Parking can be a little tricky if you aren t prepared to pay for valet $35 or a parking garage pass, I believe it was $40 for overnight with in and out privileges. Street parking is about 4.50 an hour until midnight. Once rush hour traffic is gone it s easier to find a spot. The product line they use smells amazing and the shower is lovely. In room coffee maker. Gym is small but has free weights, a cable machine and a cool mural. Safe building with night security.
They were doing some building maintenance which included drilling close to my window at 9:30ish which was disturbing but hey hopefully that will be complete by your trip!
I thought the hotel was great. People were friendly. Comfy beds. The issue I have is.. they took a $100 deposit that they said they would refund after the stay. I completely understand that. But I never received my refund. First call i made, they apologized and they said it would take 10 business days to be refunded. 2 months later and 6 calls, no one wants to call me back. I hope this doesn t happen to other customers. $100 may not be a lot to you, but it is to me. Horrible customer service in that aspect. Will never stay here again.
Rooms are adequate. Unfortunately when checking out they won t store your bags for a couple hours. Instead they recommend going to the convenience store across the street and paying them $6 a bag to store them. How bout you tell me to go to Kmart to buy sheets and towels as well. I paid $12 to a convenience store to do the hotel s job.
Friendly service, nice room, everything exceeds expectations
Awesome accommodations at a reasonable price and breakfast in bed was on point and well prepared
The hotel is centrally located in Chicago which is very convenient. The rooms were nice and cleanly. The staff was very accommodating. In the lobby is a Glazed which is ideal for donuts and coffee. The overnight parking is kind of expensive. You can park in the lot across the street to save a couple dollars.
Nice room, horrible view but we didn't pay for the view.
Very helpful staff. I am using this hotel for my wedding block.
Located in downtown Chicago, it is a nice hotel. The service was excellent, but the parking was expensive and inconvenient. Also, the pillows were uncomfortable.
My experience at the hotel has been great, it has so far been nice, but it can be inconvenient at times.
I've stayed at the Rafaello for the last nine years and it's honestly gone down in quality for the last three to four. This most recent visit the wifi was non functional , elevator buttons didn't work (at least in floor 11), the room floor was not vacuumed well, and notes and room expectations from booking four months in advance were not honored. Just disappointing as it's a tradition for us to stay there, but will be looking elsewhere in the future.
Rooms and hotel are a bit older or worn. Located next to the John Hankock Building within easy reach of Michigan Avenue and other attractions. The recipe is unfortunately constantly busy with itself or the PC. Does not meet the claim.
The hotel is very appealing to the eye and was clean. The rooftop bar is a neat spot and convenient. Nice place.
Lovely room (suite). Comfortable bed. Helpful staff.
The rooms are quite simple, however, and the breakfast is expensive is well situated between Lake Michigan and the willis tower
I checked in today.. they ran my card for $100 more than I was quoted. Worst of all, there is NO COFFEE in the room or the hotel. Not a drink other than alcohol to be had. If I understood the staff when they spoke to me I might get answers.. there are plenty of other places to stay in this city
A fantastic hotel, with fantastic employees, in a fantastic location. I really mean it our stay started with the manager checking us in and giving us 6 out of 5 star service, and the experience only got better from there. The room had an incredibly comfortable bed, an AMAZING shower head, a great view of downtown, and was very quiet. The rooftop bar is one of the coolest bars that I ve ever been to (HUGE whiskey selection, artisan cocktails, and high-class yet approachable atmosphere), and the front lobby is full of friendly faces. Even the doorman is friendly and interested in making your stay absolutely perfect. In summary, this hotel is where everyone should stay when they visit Chicago. It was such a great place to stay that my girlfriend and I actually extended our stay for additional day because we didn t want to part ways with our new home . I can t recommend it enough thank you Raffaello!
Stayed here for new years eve and my birthday. It is the perfect location, good price, and has a lounge/bar on the top floor. The downside is the elevators are really small (only 4 people can fit in it comfortably) and the rooms are just okay. Would recommend if you want a less expensive room in a good location.
Room did have complementary water, coffee maker, refrigerator, no space in restroom for make-up and very poor lighting, no room service. Updates need to be made to the hotel restaurant menu.
A nice rather classy hotel with a nice little bar on the roof. The staff is very nice and the rooms too.
Rafaello hotel is okay. The interior of the hotel and rooms need a face lift (remodel). The front door of the hotel was broken during my stay. The hotel was quiet and the staff was nice.
Suites are spacious and clean. Location is top-notch. Delicious doughnuts on-site. However, When we checked in, we were given keys to the wrong suite (i.e. When we opened the door, there was someone residing in the suite). We were promptly given the correct room assignment when we approached front desk, but we felt uneasy about the fact that a stranger could potentially barge into our suite (due to staff error). We were also embarrassed that we entered the wrong room (through no fault of our own).
The Raffaello is an attractive, reasonably priced boutique hotel. However, it's not as centrally located for visitors without a car as some other hotels, not being in the Loop proper. That said, rooms are nice and decently sized, and the lobby, while small, is attractive. The lack of nearby L stations notwithstanding, it's a good hotel to stay at.
Horrible experience ever since I got here, never have I ever pay for an hotel and pay for parking at the same time, what kind of hotel does not own their own parking space for hotel guests? and on top of that make you pay extra for everything. Plus their valet parking guy was a rude a** I would not trust any of my belonging with the guy. We spent an whole 1 hour just trying to get everything situated. If I could give this hotel experience an 0 star I would. All I can say is never again, I rather stay at the Marriott hotel from now on.
Noisy heater but otherwise a comfortable spot in the of the gentified downtown. Conveniences and great food surround it and it's walking distance to Navy Pier and 2 Whole Foods.
Externally very beautiful. Quiet rooms, tiny bathroom.
One of the best hotel in close proximity of white house. White house is 5 min of walking distance and the remains museum and monuments you can either reach within 15-20 min of walk or busses are also available for your convenience. Starbucks is diagonally opposite of this hotel.
Very nice hotel, convenient location, rooms are cozy, 18th floor bar nice ,!!
Beware! Unethical business. Fraudulent charges on my credit card.
I booked 4 nights, but found other accommodations. I cancel my deluxe suite 4 1/2 days before I arrived in chicago. Raffaello's cancellation policy is 72 hours. I beat that by a day and a half. I have the name of the person I canceled with (Nyla) and a cancellation conformation email.
Two weeks later I checked my credit card statement and was charged $301.77. It took 4 phone calls, two voicemails, and two arguments to get my refund.
I plan to return to Chicago often. I planed on staying at the Raffaello on my next trip because of the location, but I will never do business with the Raffaello again! They lost a customer forever.
The location is great! The customer service is awesome too!
Pretty good hotel, but we were unaware of the deposit value of $100/night.
The service leaves a lot to be desired. I travel up to 3 weeks in a month for business. Consequently, I stay at a lot of hotels. This hotel would greatly benefit from retraining their staff on customer service. On my way out of the hotel I asked the woman at the front desk if she had change for a $20 because I need smaller bills to take a cab and without looking up from her computer screen replied, "no."
They charged my debit card over 1000.00 dollars w pending charges for 1 night and a 100.00 deposit. The room was supposed to be 350.00. Then accounting tried to take 670.00 for final bill for a one night stay and valet. My bank had to take the charges off because they tried to refuse. The room was tiny, elevator was tiny and we woke up to itching. We've stayed all over the city never seen anything like this. This is the rudest group.. How is this a 4 star hotel?
I love this hotel it is very nice but the elevators are very small and the walls have weird things on them but other than that it is a nice hotel
Stayed for a couple nights with family. Service was great. Check in was easy. Room was clean and prepped. Walking to places was possible at this downtown location but parking maybe difficult. Was told that parking was $37 a night and it's be charged to room with unlimited in and out. Something to consider.
The first time we stayed here was a bad experience. They asked for a second chance and it was better the second time.
The place is amazing and the rooms are excellent !!!
Check in process was so horrible decided to leave and cancel reservation. I prepaid for reservation using business debit card. The manager refused to accept the same business card that the reservation was paid under. I showed him AMEX card matching my name to business and other credit cards, he refused. I'd just avoid this hotel at all cost.
The valet weren't available at pull up time. Staff put us in a double bed room. We ordered a King. When they told us they would switch us we felt more like a problem to them then guests. They waived the valet fee due to our vehicle not being ready for 20 minutes after we ordered it. It wasn't very busy either to need the long wait. Elevators are small, but the King room was nice.
Fantastic location with a lovely rooftop bar. The room was large, clean, and quiet. Also, for you tall travelers, they had a very tall shower and it. Was. Glorious.
I am from Panama and have good attention, careful helpful cordial good and comfortable rooms, excellent location.
The hotel is beautiful inside and out but nearly ruined our trip. The hotel was booked through my work in advance and paid in advance however this is the first hotel I have visited in quite some time where a deposit was required on credit later discovered in the fine print of the receipt (almost 400$ for 3 days). We had to resolve to leaving 500 dollars in cash tied up to the hotel and was unable to pull additional funds until the following day due to the bank limit. The rooms were small but clean and had all of the common amenities expected of a nicer hotel as well as a large TV likely 46 or 50" certainly uncommon amongst most hotels I have stayed at in the past. I have to be honest and say that I wouldn't likely return as parking owned by the hotel should never be a 100+ dollar extra (almost 200 if you valet for 3 days) and a prepayment should never be conditional upon surrendering $1000 (what the cash deposit was suppose to be).
Super cool Old hotel, old school Chicago! Charming. Service was ok...
Very, very nice suites. Quite impressed. Really good mattress.
Gorgeous spot and the restaurant is first-rate. Expensive meal and worth every penny. Service is out of thsi world. Don't miss it!
I got a really good deal on the Grand Suite for this hotel, so I paid relatively little money compared to the normal price of the room. With that being said, the hotel/room was mediocre at best. The shower looked like it had not been cleaned in months. The light fixture in the bathroom, as well as the shower head were both falling off the wall. The coffee pot had old water in it, a minor complaint but still kind of gross. Also, we stayed in November which is normally cold but it was actually pretty warm the days we were there, reaching 60 degrees during the day. When we tried to turn on the air, it would not turn on, only warm air came out. I am assuming they turned the air off for the building and it made the room miserably hot.
The only real positive is that it was in an okay location. It was about a 10 minute walk from the Red Line and near many shops and restaurants. Aside from the complaints above, the room was big and enough room for three people. I would not stay here again, especially for the price it normally is.
Such a beautiful hotel, ( from the outside) , but ignored on the inside. I couldn't wait to take a shower, but there wasn't even a shower curtain. Just half of a shower door. The bathroom had tiles that didn't even have grout to hold them in. During my nice, hot shower, the water splattered on the rest of the floor.. glad I didn't put valuables in there, while showering!( There was no exaust fan either.) So, don't even TRY to put your makeup on in there! You will sweat to death! By the way, the heavy glass used for the shower door, and the shelf, under the mirror we're half_assed siliconed to the walls.. you'd think that they earned enough money to properly build the bathrooms... But, no.. I about killed myself, because the loose tiles we're so slick, that I fell on the floor at six a.m. ... I laughed at myself, but thought... Holy cow, I hope there aren't elderly people trying to shower here! Surely, they'll fall. Surely! Uggh! I can't believe they haven't been sued yet. Who the hell does maintenance on these rooms? Are they blind? Are they lazy? Do they get paid???? I can't believe my boss paid more than "Motel 6" cost.
Terrible service! I left my glasses in the hotel room. Then, I had to pay twice to get them back! I m really annoyed! Also, I had to call on several days and on multiple occasions before someone actually picked up the phone, for me to ask about my glasses! When they finally picked up, no one had a single clue about what happened to my glasses! Never going back! They didn t even do anything about it!
Good location, friendly staff. should improve the beds
Pelago was fantastic. Some of the best service I have had in any restaurant ever. Ask for Alfredo! Food was 5 star as well. I had the red snapper and it was one of the top fish dishes I have had in a while.
Very spacious, clean, friendly staffs & great location.
We loved the bed and the shower, as well as the nice TV and the fleece robes. The open wifi was slow but easy to access and the decor was simple and classy. The location is fantastic as well!
The feather pillows on the bed looked very promising but when laid on, sunk down to nothing with a foot of feathers on each side of our faces.
The toilet required you to hold the handle for 15 seconds or more for it to flush, something you wouldn't expect in a 4 star hotel which led to nasty surprises for the next person. That was gross.
They give you two kcups but no Keurig and only one tiny coffee mug, as well as no plastic utensils and a pretty useless mini fridge that wouldn't stay shut.
Then the girl who was working the donut counter in the morning was rude and unaccommodating so out into the snowstorm we ventured for breakfast.
Overall it was a nice room and the showers really can't be beat, but we probably won't stay here again nor would we have paid full price for a room.
Bumpy check-in. Two hours after check-in started, our suite wasn't ready. After much discussion, the decided to upgrade us. When we finally get to the room, it was already occupied - oops. Go back down, they find another room - not upgraded but at least not in use. Whole process took about an hour. Room was very nice. Clean, comfortable and well appointed. I love the classic styling and soft colours. Fridge, microwave, two tv's, no bathtub. We had paid for a package that included drinks at the hotel bar. I had asked if we needed reservations and was told no. We get there all set to relax and it is packed. You could hear the noise a few levels down from it. We asked for a table and were told to basically go ahead and look around if we wanted but there probably wasn't anywhere available. We ended up not being able to use the tickets due to limited operating hours and the bar being closed on Mondays. Waste. We didn't want to be right smack downtown. The hotel is in a fantastic location a little away from all the noise and crowds. All the main downtown attractions are walkable if you are a good walker (we enjoy it) but uber and cabs and public transport are all easy options. You're 2-3 minutes away from the shops and restaurants of Michigan avenue. Would absolutely stay again, would recommend. We were very comfortable.
Check-in was a breeze. The rooms are beautiful & clean. The area is peaceful and quiet. Room located in the heart of Chicago.
Charged at the time of my stay by third party travel website and again two months later. Hotel refused to refund second charge. Stay elsewhere unless you want to be double charged.
Excellent location, friendly and helpful staff, nice and clean rooms. We liked it very much. The small and slow elevators is a drawback.
Great customer service. Room Service was delicious. Great Location. Overall, one of the best hotels I've been to.
Great mixed drinks on a rooftop bar. However, if you're looking for a view, this isn't the rooftop for you.
Had a great time in Chicago at the Raffaello. Very nice rooms and area.
A really pleasant stay. The room was clean and the hotel location was very favorable and close to metro.
Nice place, expensive though, had to pay a bunch for parking and they said my truck was too big and had to pay $60+ for vallet after already spending almost $200 for a basic room. Not worth the cost
Really nice hotel!! Centrally located downtown. Parking was great they have valet parking with in/out privileges as well as self parking.. definitely will stay there again.
Rooms were really small but overall great experience!
Close to Rush Street, really comfortable rooms and beds. DrumBar on the roof is fun and they have a unique drink menu. A great selection of distilled, difficult to find spirits. ie. Pappy Van Winkle.
Great staff all around! My Ruko was not connected to the internet and they sent someone up right away to connect it. We have a double deluxe room and it's clean and neat. The beds reel to be a foam mattress and very comfortable. We'll definitely be happy to stay here again when we come back to Chicago... $50 per day semi valet (you pull in the lot and they park your vehicle) parking at the corner and you can come and go as you please with no extra fees.
We stayed a week at the Hotel. Fabulous room, the only thing that the bathroom was a little smaller than we would have liked.
They serve complimentary coffee in the mornings.
The situation is very good. I recommend
Edit from a 2 star to a 5 star...
As you ll see below my first stay at the Raffello, however they made it RIGHT!!!
They booked us (3 people) in the executive king suite. It was a great room, so much space. We had a bedroom in the suite that allowed for an 18 yr old to have her own space in the living room with a comfy pull out mattress for her to sleep on. Our bedroom was great, the bed was absolutely amazing! We wanted to bring it home with us . The staff was very welcoming. The air was kicking on high . Had to even turn it off it got so cold. Thank you Raffello for making our stay just right this time. We will definitely come back when we visit Chicago again! Perfect location to the Navy pier as well. Less than a mile away.
Our stay was good, they allowed us to come in a bit early (1-2 hours before check in). However, the issues we had with our stay were the small elevators up to the rooms. We were there on a Sunday/Monday so the roof top was not open and this was something that we chose this hotel for. But, the main issue we had was that the air condition did not work. We called down, and was told that maintenance would come up and take a look at it. They did not take a look at it, but brought us a fan. The room itself was nice, but the bathroom was terribly small no space at all for any of your bathroom necessities. Again main issue was the air condition, it was super hot. It was hot outside, so we came back to our rooms to take a shower to get the sweaty and stickiness off us, but once we got out of the shower...we were hot, sweating and sticky all over again. No good circulation in the room. Bed was very comfortable.
Rooms smelled of smoke. There are only two elevators for all of the guests. Very slow. Ended up using the stairs a lot. The room temperature was extremely hot. Set the thermostat at 60 it the room was still boiling
Old. Needs renovation. Parking is expensive and valet attendants are rude
Fast check in. Clean, spacious room with 2 tvs one in the living room and the second in the bedroom. The bathroom is really clean and smells great. The hotel location is fantastic and close to many attractions in Chicago downtown.
Hotel has been pretty great overall. Good speed with room service too. Although, there are aspects of our room that feel and look unfinished including holes in the ceiling where there should be light bulbs and shoddy plastering on the walls. Apart from that, there are no complaints our end
Parking was so dang expensive 50 something per night
Nice room. We were missing a few things and they got them to us promptly. Only complaint is that it was too hot in the room and the AC didn't work to cool things down.
