Radisson Blu Grand Hotel Sofia Review

Great location. Retro design inside with a modern structure.

The hotel is beautiful and very comfortable. In the center of Sofia in an elegant area close to many points of interest. The rooms are very spacious and approximately 50m2 well furnished and the bathroom is excellent.

Stylish, bright, clean and cozy place to stay. Rooms and bathrooms are large and have no analogue with newly built hotel rooms that resemble match boxes. You pay .... you get. The cost has a price.

The hotel at first glance is nice and conveniently located in the city center. But it is extremely unsuitable for the organization of bazaars, since the distances are small and cause claustrophobia.

All that's worth is the staff (well, mostly) and location. Breakfasts are as one would expect with more than capable and pleasant staff. Bar and lobby area are cozy with plenty of space. Elevators are barely enough for two people with baggage. Hallways feel dated and dirty and the room numbers distribution needs more labeling.
Room doors are massive wood with no break so you can only hope your neighbors are careful enough not to let them slam just when you are about to fall asleep. Rooms are really big with more than decent sized bathrooms. However, bathroom floor is very very cold and living area is crammed with huge wooden boxes with very sharp edges so do not leave small kids alone. The large work desk has no power outlet thus writing this sitting on one of aforementioned boxes... Everything is lower than my liking (faucets, counters etc) but the chair for work desk sits low. Probably the desk itself is too high.
Everything feels dated and some things even feel like falling apart such as the bathtub if you sit on the rim. Bedside light was not working for days.
If you are on the side away from main post office, you will "enjoy" garbage truck at about 6:30 every other day banging and grinding for at least 10 minutes. There is absolutely no external sound insulation. Light pollution is horrible so extra curtains stay on every night.
Restaurant is horror... There was 4 of us for dinner and, although hungry, none ate the order completely, some even ate nothing. The deal breaker, after horrible "mushroom" soup and barely edible carbonara (both felt like canned food) was creme brulee which was actually curd. And then you have to listen to explanation how that's the way they do it but they'll still take your money as if real meal was served. This was the worst part of experience.
Avoid if you can.

I love the food served in the restaurants. Try the cappuccino!

Five star luxury hotel in the heart of Sofia. Elegantly decorated spacious rooms, large bathrooms, impeccably cleaned and maintained property. The location is impossible to beat - at the entrance of the central city garden, accross the National Theatre, steps away from literally all major sights. Definitely recommended!

Large suites with dark wood paneling, comfortable beds and marble line bathrooms, a bit of old world style luxury. Staff is friendly and helpful. The hotel is located in the center of town, convenient to many tourist destinations. Views from higher rooms look out over the city to the mountains beyond.

One of the more established hotels in Sofia. Heavy wood and classic decor. Feels like in the old times. Good bar and a very fine restaurant. Good, English speaking service.

Everything that should be a hotel! Excellent location, staff, cleanliness, coziness, silence, spacious room and bathroom, comfortable beds ...

The hotel looks like a police station half the time. Today we were stuck behind 30 police cars trying to get out of the parking. Better to stay somewhere that isn't used as an embassy, convention center and police station.

I can not give my opinion about the hotel part and service but I used the services of a conference room on the 2nd floor. Air conditioning was right, as well as hotel service. I recommend for similar group events.

Great hotel - from the US and I don't speak Bulgarian. It was super easy, and the location is fantastic.

I found a good offer on the internet and booked this 5-star hotel on the fly, which would actually correspond to 4 stars. The strength is certainly the location and the rooms. My room, which seems to be any double room, was at least 50 meters wide, very spacious with nice sofas. The rest of the services were fine but average for another 4-star hotel. The location of the hotel is ideal because it is 3 minutes from the main avenue and 5 minutes from the cathedral. In front of the hotel there is a beautiful garden and around the various museums.

Great location in the centre of Sofia, friendly staff who were efficient and spoke excellent English. We had a room on the fourth floor near the lifts and we were worried it might be a noisy location, but we needn't have as we weren't disturbed at all. I think the hotel was quite empty as we didn't see many other guests. The room itself was massive with a separate sitting area and a writing desk. The hall area was where the wardrobe was and was large enough to be used as a dressing area too. The large bathroom had a separate shower enclosure from the bath and had a bidet too. Our room overlooked the city gardens park which was a pleasant enough view. Overall a really enjoyable stay, would highly recommend it.

Great hotel. Ideally located in the city centre, easy to walk to pretty much everywhere. Lots of touristy things close by. My room was one with a balcony overlooking the National Theatre and city park. Would definitely use it again
