We spent 3 days at the Grand Hotel as base for our business in Vratsa. Took a corner suite - around 70m2 on the 6th floor, with a splendd view over Sofia's city centre.
There is ample space in the anteroom that connects bathroom and sleeping/living room area. Bathroom is big, just a bit inconvenient that the sink is behind the door in a sort of anteroom to the main bathroom, which features toilet, tub, shower, and bidet. Plus: a lot of towels. The living/sleeping area has the great view, there are two sofas, a large bed, and a desk with chair. Two sides of the room are with large windows, but they dont open, and there is no balcony. The room also offers other typical amenities: minibar, coffee/tea machine, TV set. WiFi is table and fast enough.
Breakfast is at the ground floor restaurant and offers a really wide variety of everything, from local delikatessen to your "typical" breakfast in such places. Everything is fresh and tasty, and the setting is beautiful, too - either outside more or less in the green park next to the hotel, or with a view of it.
Their restaurant can be recommended for dinner, too - excellent quality - try their Wellington steak - fabulous. Their selection of local white wines is distinct, too.
We did not try the spa area, simply had no time - but the location of the hotel itself is ideal to reach all sights in the centre within a few minutes walking - a really big advantage.
Hotel staff is kind and hospitable, will go out of their way to make your stay a pleasant experience.
