Very well organized New Year's dinner. Hotel lived up to expectations.
Missing the last star because the exit to go to smoke gave directly into the room and therefore every time that door was opened the gust of frost could be felt.

I stayed here when on business travel to Sofia. Rooms are very spacious, breakfast was very delicious.
I wish they had better vegetarian choices in the restaurant for dinner, although the pasta was quite good.
Staff is very friendly.
Most importantly, it is located centrally, all city attractions, historic places, beautiful churches are at a walkable distance.

Experiencing the unusual, the quirky, the outright absurd is what travelling is all about. In this case it was over embellishment. The hotel was huge, with it's own casino on site, a gym, a pool and many levels of rooms. The staff were welcoming, helpful and very Bulgarian i.e., don't expect a sycophant:) I had a comfortable stay, loved the facilities.

I was really looking forward to staying here but my room is so dark and it's hard to see out of the window. I asked for a brighter room but perhaps they are all like this because the guy at the desk said no I couldn't change. I wish I was staying somewhere else.

Amazing Hotel. Was there for their new Years event. The food was delicious and the service was excellent.
Outside in their outside area they have pictures, stories and signatures from famous and important people who have stayed there.

Great hotel! I liked everything! Service at a very high level. It is a pity that the restaurant did not work, there was a quarantine. I would also like to appreciate the kitchen. But breakfasts are delicious and varied. Separately note the room on the 9th floor - the view of the city and mountains is simply unsurpassed!

We spent 3 days at the Grand Hotel as base for our business in Vratsa. Took a corner suite - around 70m2 on the 6th floor, with a splendd view over Sofia's city centre.

There is ample space in the anteroom that connects bathroom and sleeping/living room area. Bathroom is big, just a bit inconvenient that the sink is behind the door in a sort of anteroom to the main bathroom, which features toilet, tub, shower, and bidet. Plus: a lot of towels. The living/sleeping area has the great view, there are two sofas, a large bed, and a desk with chair. Two sides of the room are with large windows, but they dont open, and there is no balcony. The room also offers other typical amenities: minibar, coffee/tea machine, TV set. WiFi is table and fast enough.

Breakfast is at the ground floor restaurant and offers a really wide variety of everything, from local delikatessen to your "typical" breakfast in such places. Everything is fresh and tasty, and the setting is beautiful, too - either outside more or less in the green park next to the hotel, or with a view of it.

Their restaurant can be recommended for dinner, too - excellent quality - try their Wellington steak - fabulous. Their selection of local white wines is distinct, too.

We did not try the spa area, simply had no time - but the location of the hotel itself is ideal to reach all sights in the centre within a few minutes walking - a really big advantage.

Hotel staff is kind and hospitable, will go out of their way to make your stay a pleasant experience.

Luxurious Hotel with the style of a 5* house. Allways nice to stay there, as the people are friendly and the rooms are awesome (big, comfortable, ...)
Reasons to reduce 1*: unenjoyable coffee at breakfast and noisy air conditions (in all several rooms I stayed over a couple of times.

Very spacious rooms and corridors, staff who open the taxi and entrance door, friendly service at the check-in and the bar. Prices for Bulgaria are of course at the upper end, but it's worth it.

One complaint is that the shower has a glass partition and behind this the water runs past on the floor. As a result, the entire bathroom is flooded every morning if you don't put both bathroom mats in front of it. The door frame shows that this has been the case for a long time and even if I criticized it last year, it still occurs. The curtain rod was loose on the windowsill and had apparently broken off.

All of this is not a big deal, but it's annoying and doesn't fit in with the rest at all. The flooded bathroom in particular can get on your nerves. Therefor a star deduction for the room.

Great hotel in the center of Sofia. Combines ancient and modern with an elegant, solemn and diplomat. Convenient to visit the city, located between the park and the main theater, it has gigantic rooms and a service to match.

A 5 stars hotel which is truly 5 stars worth. Excellent service as well as very nice and helpful staff. Furthermore, the location strictly in the city centre allows you to enjoy all the things that Sofia's downtown has to offer. There are however 2 points which brought me to rate this hotel only with 4 Google stars:
- pricing - with almost 200 euro a night it's really overpriced (that's an objective opinion)
- space - this one is very subjective. In my humble opinion, the rooms are simpy... too big. I don't know, maybe I'm not used to stay in such large hotel rooms but they are simply so big that some people would be envy not having their apartments of this size. Making it a bit smaller (but still big enough to keep 5 stars grading) would maybe lead to lower price without compromising the comfort.

Anyway, this hotel is worth visiting

A modern building built on the site of the burned-down archive building. Very nice and stylish interior and exterior. The building is located opposite the National Theater Square. I have no impressions about the rooms and the service.

The best hotel we've ever stayed in. Enormous, beautiful, comfortable rooms, English speaking super friendly and helpful staff. Free WiFi, complementary drinks and snacks, garage parking for all guests with concierge service. Hotel breakfast is on the expensive side, but that's about the only thing that we weren't thrilled about. This truly is a "grand" hotel.
