Ryan has worked hard over the years to make this place great. The food is always good, drinks are great, service is the best you will find. I cant wait until the new location is open. Its much bigger. Everyone should make the drive out here at least once to enjoy this place.

I love this place. The coffee drinks are wonderful. The bakery does some amazing things (not always easy at 7500 elevation). Service has always been super friendly and the place is always well presented. It is worth the 5 mile dive up Black Forest road for sure. Free wifi and a nice reading area. Hit it up for sure if you are in the area!

R&R has been one of the few places we've been excited about and been repeat customers to in the Springs. They have excellent coffee and a wonderful atmosphere. They have a terrific menu which is a delight for the whole family when the kitchen staff is on. Their only problem seems to be with consistency. The last time we were there, somebody in the kitchen left abruptly leaving them terribly short staffed and potentially with somebody who didn't actually know how to make the food as it was severely sub-par. I don't mind paying the higher prices for food when it's excellent and I certainly understand the occasional pinch or staffing difficulty, but this inconsistency has happened several times now. I hope they work it out, because it's still one of our favorite places in the NE Springs area.

We were excited to grab a drink at this cute coffee shop in Black Forest. We arrived and ordered our coffees at 11:14am. Although a few larger groups came in after us, when we arrived there were not many people there. We only ordered 4 coffee drinks, no food, and we didn t get them until 12:10. I understand a slightly longer wait in a smaller place, but almost an hour is a beyond excessive wait for a coffee. If that s the norm, that should be stated at the time of ordering. We went up and checked on our drinks multiple times and were just told they were still being made. The coffee was good, but not wait an hour good. Definitely not a place to stop when you just want a quick coffee for the road.

Great food and if you like dam good fresh roasted coffee then this is the place. it puts Starbucks to shame. Try their 10 shot espresso drink called the Death wish. That'll get you going in the morning

I brought 2 friends and myself, for the first time. To the R&R coffee cafe today. I had the FRENCH ONION SOUP. The very best french onion soup I have ever tasted. I also had the GREEN CHILI BURGER, which was prepared perfectly to my request and not a sloppy chili mess. It was easy to handle with a slightly thicker based chili. Both my friends had the same experience and thoroughly enjoyed our lunch. This place is a diamond in the woods !!!!!!! And a very fun and talented staff, Chef is top notch. You are missing something great if you don't make it a priority to dine there. They are a coffee and dining experience you won't want to miss.

This morning, I ordered the cheddar biscuits and gravy with scrambled eggs and my husband ordered pancakes with eggs and bacon. My eggs were scorched and the "biscuits" were more like english muffins, which was very disappointing. My husband's pancakes were undercooked (gooey inside) so they offered to replace them. However, 30 minutes later and no pancakes so we just left. It shouldn't take that long to make more pancakes. His eggs were also undercooked. The coffee was excellent.

Very good but pricey. The coffee is an in-house roast and they offer a wide variety of coffee and non-coffee drinks. The food tastes fresh with a local flare and service is reasonably quick. The only thing that keeps me from 4 or 5 stars is the price. Kids breakfast plates are $7+, breakfast sandwiches $10+, cup of drip coffee almost $4, small kid's steamed milk $3+. Overall $45 for 2 parents and 1 toddler. For better or worse it seems like they forgot they're in Black Forest, Colorado...Not NYC or Napa Valley.

Nice local coffee shop and eatery that still has some small business kinks to work out. No problems with the food, drink or personnel...but some problems with logistics and timely service.

Lots of coffee and tea options, and the food is good as well. They can get pretty busy, which may or may not cause your order to be wrong or incomplete. The staff is extremely nice and will fix any mix-ups, but can be a little frustrating when with a group and you have to wait for food while everyone else is finishing up theirs.

OVER PRICED! Really, over $8 for 2 slices of bacon and a cinnamon roll sliced in half and cooked like French toast. And don't get me started on the $2.85 for a cup of coffee (refill not included). We won't waste our hard earned money here again. No value here! On the plus side the coffee is good.

We have been going to R&R for several years but our last few trips haven't been the same. We have had to wait a long time for our food to come out and it seems like the quality of the food is going down. We had breakfast this morning and it was sadly our worst experience. My husband ordered a breakfast sandwich with sausage but it did not come with any sausage. He asked for the sausage patty but did not receive it until quite some time later and he was already finished with the sandwich. The sausage that did come out was cold in the middle and my husband could not eat it. I ordered the hash and it was bland and my toast was so hard that I could not eat it. I will say that the staff was very nice but that only goes so far. We are disappointed and we may not be back.

Went in here for the first time. Manager is super disrespectful to employees. Upon reading reviews about this place on Indeed from former employees, I wish I could give this place 0 stars. Super uncomfortable environment.

I went to the Tri-Lakes location today, and absolutely LOVED it!! I was helped by Meg and had the best latte I ve ever had!! I am so excited to keep coming back to this location because it is closer to my house. I highly recommend their new location in Monument.

I had the South if Denver omelette my wife had a breakfast burrito. The food was decent. I know this is a small out of the way restaurant. Here are the things i take issue with. First you prepay so if the service is bad your out of luck. The service was less than ideal for instance we were never asked if we needed our drinks topped off or if we needed any condiments for the meals.

Love this place! Great coffee and food. Tons of choices for espresso drinks. Usually delicious looking baked goods, unfortunately I've never had one. Lots of choices and accommodations for vegetarians.

The good is usually delicious. The coffee prices feel inflated, which is my only reason for downscoring. Really 4.5, the food is really on point. Generous servings without being huge.

I've been here 3 times in about 3 years, always on a weekend morning. Each time they were out of pancakes, and my daughter always wants pancakes. This past weekend, they were out of bacon--at 10 a.m. on a Sunday morning. My cafe au lait was a little weak, but ok. The vegetables on my husbands omelet were undercooked, but he ate it because he was starving. I ordered the cheddar biscuit with gravy--be warned this is not a biscuit. It's a bun, or a dinner roll or something. The gravy was slightly sweet. I had one bite of each, but couldn't eat the rest. I like the atmosphere and the coffee can be good, but all in all, I think we're done with driving 30 minutes for food that's always a little... lacking.

Really nice spot. Coffee is all roasted in house and the food is very good! The coffee glazed bacon is unique as are their herb seasoned potatoes. I highly recommend and will be frequenting this place in the future.

Met some friends for breakfast today. Delicious biscuits and gravy with eggs. Cinnamon Roll was to die for! We'll be back later in the week to try out the lunch menu. If you haven't been yet, you should make plans to get there soon!

I was overcharged for my food. The pictures shows $16.51 worth of food. Biscuits and gravy and batch brew coffee. It seemed like a small portion for what I prayed and no presentation. Even though it seemed like good coffee beans the coffee was super weak. Might be the weakest cup of coffee I've ever had. Very disappointed

Biscuits and gravy are not real biscuits! Also they do not offer real tortillas, just sun dried tamatoe tortillas. Service was exceptional, food was over priced and didn t taste very good and doesn t seem very customizable. If you like granola/hippie type food maybe this place is for you, as for me I am not a fan. Edit: Changing to 5 stars as I can not knock a company for what they serve. And the service was great, IMO over priced and not my type of place. But the owner who replied to this review seemed very nice.

This place is a peaceful place away from traffic and busy of the city. They have a great food menu with options for everyone. Also, they have many options for coffee, both for the sweeter side and the syphon style coffee drinker. They roast their own beans and I approve! The staff were all very friendly and made you feel like this coffee house could become a regular. Their parking lot is gravel, so people that need assistance walking be careful. There is handicap parking and the building is handicap accessible. A separate men's and women's restrooms. Worth the detour!

Love supporting local businesses. I've been coming here for years. Friendly service, delicious food, quaint atmosphere. Love the book book corner a well as the forest/mountain mural on the wall in the dining area. Delicious coffee (roasted on site) and plenty of breakfast and lunch options

Updated- I originally gave a one star review due to the wait time for coffee in witch I just left without getting after 40 minutes. After speaking to the owner personally and understanding the situation I wanted to update my review. They are trying to incorporate the tri lakes staff so they can keep their income. They are also a small eatery trying to incorporate drive thru to stay afloat. Give them a chance they are trying their best.

I live just outside Black Forest and love to work remote out of this cozy cafe. Its quiet and they have a nice working or relaxation corner. Great tea and coffee selection and they are accommodating to changing up the menu for vegetarians. Longer hours would get this cafe and coffee house 5 stars as they do close pretty early at 3pm but are nice enough not to kick folks out if you get lost in time snuggling up with book in the corner.

Never again......I've never in my life had the experience of carrots in an omelette. It was completely unexpected as there are things that just don't go together. Namely, "carrots in an omelette". I tried to remain positive but when a restaurant cares more about my diet than I do, we have a problem. Don't bother ordering potatoes with breakfast as they charge extra & the amount received wouldn't put a dent in a baby's mouth. Some people may love "R & R" just not my cup of tea.
