Horrible university to attend if you have any form of disability. At least in the science departments - full of ableist academics who will do the bare minimum to assist you.

Equity Services are good, but can't do much to compromise with academics.

If you are looking at working in Higher Education ...

If you are looking at working in Higher Education in Australia, then I would definitively recommend QUT. I have spent marvellous 5 years working there. There is a vision overall for University, both students and staff. A great location and a nurturing environment. If you are after a challenge, then consider QUT vis-a-vist some more established Universities around Australia.

Have just recently visited for the William Robinson(bill) exhibition. "Elixir of light". He's well worth the visit - more than that he's an extraordinary painter.! The old Government House is a draw card on its own. Home to the Lamington. The view from the gardens below the house are worth the time alone. A great discovery.

The gardens are very well maintained and just what you d expect from a flower-filled place. Very calming, peaceful, vibrant and refreshing. Sometimes you DO just have to stop and smell the flowers in life, and this place certainly allows you to do just that

QUT gardens point campus is a small but beautiful university. Plenty of nice architecture to view and things to do, especially in P block. As for studying here, the staff are, for the most part, very friendly and all of them are always willing to help students. It sits right next to the river and the botanic gardens, a prime location in the city.

Amazing facilities that will really benefit science and engineering students. QUT has some real historical value throughout the campus and connects easily with public transport and the botanic gardens.

Actual joke of a uni for design subjects. Were this not the only university that offered my degree I would not go here. Assignments are set but no access to the programs required to complete said assesment is provided. On top of the thousands of dollars you pay every term, you are expected to purchase your own computer capable of running all required programs and then buy all the programs. The computers used to run the Adobe Suite at the univeristy are all 2007 Dells...worse than what I used in high school when I finihed 4 years ago. To compound this, between an at least 1000 student design school, there is access to only 64 computers. I have contacted the faculty on multiple occasions to express my concern at how students are handicapped when it comes to completing assesment, but have had no feasible or helpful responses. It's a shame the Queensland University of Technology does not supply the necessary technology. Really dissapointing.

QUT Gardens Point Campus has an excellent range of state of the art facilities. Everything is well laid out, updated and modern. As the name states, this campus is very garden focused and is apart of the Brisbane Botanical Gardens. Everything feels fresh and relaxing and is definitely a great place for tertiary education.

A great university campus in the heart of Brisbane. The campus is leafy, compact and has a mix of historic and modern buildings. Be sure to checkout the small art gallery and the Cube. There are numerous food options, but many are only open during teaching times. Has great access to the city Botanic Gardens and the Goodwill Bridge across to Southbank.

This university took 6 mths to transfer my very basic Pot Grad Cert from another QLD based university. it took 6 mths to transfer 2 exact same subjects so that I could complete the last 2 close to home. it will be 2 years to do what should of taken 6mths and what they advertise as 6mths. The admin team would take 1-2 mths to reply to emails and only replied off the back of follow up emails. It doesn't back up the hype. Go to UQ or Griffith they were much better administrated universities; and UQ is just better alround.

Physicists at the University of Queensland in Aust...

Physicists at the University of Queensland in Australia have used photons - single particles of light - to simulate quantum particles travelling through time and study their behaviour.

They were hoping to find out more about whether time travel would be possible at the quantum level - a theory first predicted in 1991.
In the study, the researchers simulated the behaviour of a single photon that travels through a wormhole and interacts with its older self. This is known as a closed timelike curve - a closed path in space-time that returns to the same starting point in space but at an earlier time. Their study is published in Nature Communications.

QUT is one of the newest, modern and contemporary ...

QUT is one of the newest, modern and contemporary Australian Universities situated at a perfect location in Brisbane City. The University's main entrance to the Gardens Point Campus is bordered by the beautiful Parliament House on the one side and the attractive Botanical gardens on the other side. Commuting to the University from various suburb locations is not at all an issue as the city is very well-connected with many of the suburbs with excellent transport facilities, be it bus, train, cab or any other preferred mode of transport. There are also ferry services available at QUT for to & fro travel across the river. During most of my visits to the University, I saw certain new buildings & infrastructure facilities coming up in and around the Gardens Point Campus, which were under construction. At anytime, anyone can experience the freshness of the air at the Botanical Gardens, which is bordered by the University on the one side and river by the other side. QUT's sister campus at Kelvin Grove, Brisbane (QUT - Kelvin Grove Campus) is definitely worthwhile to visit.

Picturesque location, great facilities, lush greenery all around, close to the Brisbane river, it's a great place to work and study. HiQ has been very helpful in helping me out when I was in doubt. The laboratories are state-of-the-art, with some of the best instruments. As for the faculties, they are simply stellar in their jobs. I highly recommend prospective students to visit QUT and get ready for the world!

They say this is the University for students that are going places and it is remarkable how it has developed over the years from a humble technology college providing basic instruction from the scientific and technological fields, and now is offering many topics and fields of study. By far it is popular campus.

My former uni. For an urban campus in a relatively small area, it's as good as it gets. The space has been well utilised, makes the campus look larger than it actually is. Recent additions such as the food court and the Science & Engineering Building in P Block were great. When you want to relax, you can go to the nearby City Botanic Garden and ride a bicycle along the Brisbane River or simply laze around.

Won't comment on the teaching and courses - because I'm still assessing to what extend they have benefited me and am very skeptical of the "education" provided in all universities, not just QUT.
