when I arrived there was no staff to be seen. I had to search for the conference room, because there was no signage and no one around at any desks to ask. it was very hot and wifi was needed for the meeting and not usable.

This hotel is located just off the downtown area and is just a short walk to several nearby restaurants and convenience stores. The hotel is modern and updated; our room was lovely and had a nice view of the river. We had a king bed, which was extremely comfortable; we both slept very well. The bathroom was large and well appointed. Everything was extremely clean and well maintained; the staff were friendly and accommodating. We often stay with friends when we're in Iowa City, but we would gladly stay there again!

It was clean and the staff were very friendly. My room didn't have a mini fridge. The TV did not work even after switching outlets, trying the remote and buttons on the TV. I attempted to call the front desk to see if they had any ideas but did not get an answer. The tall lamp in the room was blinking on and off and sounded like it was shorting out so I unplugged it because I felt unsafe with it plugged in. The building was very outdated and in need of some repairs. It was an ok place to lay your head to sleep and shower (not good water pressure and temperature changed throughout, I assumed from others using water in other rooms). Breakfast was buffet style and good. I do not know how they come up with how many stars they get but definitely not 3 and I think I paid too much for the room.

This is supposed to be a three star hotel, but it felt more like two stars cleanliness wise.
The first room they gave us the beds were dirty and there was hair all over them. So we asked for another room.
The room they moved us to wasn t any better. There was hair on the beds, yellow spots on sheets, and the sheets were dusty.
I m no sure they change the sheets between stays.
The room we ended up in also was right next to the pool. So we could hear water splashing and children playing till late at night and very early in the morning.
Even though we were in a non smoking room, the hallway and the room smelled strongly of smoke. The room was very cold too.
The breakfast was mediocre, but I guess better than other hotels I ve been to.

When we pulled up....we thought the place was closed....grass not mowed...weeds all over the place. Curbside appearance is pathetic. Most people would keep on driving ....if it looks that way outside..what lurks on the inside?

Staff was rude and inefficient. Pretty offended by the front desk staff comments to me. The second floor rooms reek of smoke so if you stay there and hate that smell, ask for the first floor. Pool was broken. There were flies in our room. The management could care less if you have a concern. Was charged for someone else's restaurant bill and it took more communication than needed to resolve, i.e. the manager assumed I just didn't know how to read my bill without first looking to see if I should be charged.

The room itself was fine, but the hallway smelled of cigarette smoke. The room overlooked the pool area, which meant that any noises from the pool could be heard fairly easily in the room.

While the staff were all polite and professional, this motel is in dire need of updating. It's really only a small step up from a 1960's roadside motor lodge.

Our bed was terribly uncomfortable, had to be 20 years old. Pillows were lumpy and uncomfortable too. No comforter on the bed nor extra blankets in the closet. Bedspread has stains on it, and there was a clump of someone's hair under the sheet.

Room and hall were mighty musty smelling, lingering odor of smoke, mold and dampness. The chair in our room smelled awful, almost like urine.

TV screen had stains and fingerprints on it.

No Wi-Fi that we could gather.

Stayed at Super 8s and Motel 6s that were in better shape and more comfy.

Perhaps appropriate for the price, but still, I expect a slightly higher level of cleanliness and comfort for $100/night.

Probably wouldn't stay again.

The hotel was somewhat older but most of your regular amenities were there. No refrigerator in the room though. The hotel could also make a stronger WiFi signal through out the entire facility. Breakfast was great! Thanks to the staff!!

Right off of 80, this is a classic hotel that is well maintained. The staff was extremely friendly and advised recommendations for local food and attractions. Hotel features many different ballrooms and an Olympic sized indoor swimming pool and spa, cool hotel bar and great breakfast that rivals even home cooking. A lot of business rooms set up with fax machines and copiers. Also an impressive selection of fine teas. Highlander - there can be only one!

Not even worth one star. Our non-smoking room was not, with at least a one inch gap under the door actually smoke from the hall seeped in. This hotel has not been updated in at least 30 years and boy does it show. When you flush the toilet you would have thought a torpedo was launching. This is NOT a 3 star hotel, a 1.5 tops. You look at the room and it appears to be extremely unclean, it could very well be clean but with it being so worn and obviously heavily used you truly cannot tell. Just makes me itchy thinking about it. If I could paint you a picture for this place, my boyfriend told me to check for bed bugs. Lamp didn't work, hallways and stairwell (no elevator) smelled of 30 year old cigarette smoke, cracked walls, exposed outlets, the list goes on and on.
The parking lot is huge but the amount of trailers and truckers that are staying here make it almost impossible to maneuver through the lot.
