Old fashioned ice cream shop with the works!,My husband and I were on vacation and we came across this gem. Excellent candy selection. Sundae bar to pick your toppings. You feel like a kid again! Lots of seats and parking.

Chocolate Toasted Coconut Ice Cream......that's just fantastic! Had not been here since I was just a young lad I. The 70's but they are still gking strong offering up a multitude of sweets and ice cream with all the fixins....The only place I know that combines Toasted Coconut and Chocolate Ice cream. Brilliant.

Great place for ice cream and candy haven't been in years and absolutely amazing and the create your own sundaes always fun and tasty

They have done some nice renovations so it feels more cozy now with outdoor seating and a wishing well. The ice cream is still very good and I always enjoy the free sundae toppings bar. The staff is always friendly and the guy who greeted us and took our order was absolutely adorable!

Not what i was expecting.
We got a Jr battle of B.Hill but asked for separate bowls because i'm a little sick and the flu is fervent right now. We got little plates and not bowls which made it hard to get toppings and also makes the estavlishment seem cheap. The scoops were also very small for the price....Its just mediocre ice cream
The toppings arent candies like they have at the store, its just some nuts and sauces...
Overall, nothing to write home about. We wont be back for icecream, id rather go to Richardson's farms, jordans or treadwells in peabody.

They have some of the best chocolates and truffles that are made on-prem. The ice cream is awesome as well! You will not be disappointed;)

not what I expected. Not many toppings, pretty expensive at $5-$8 a pop. A "buffet" is not really accurate. Do yourself a favor go to Dairy Queen. The ice cream flavors however were decent.

Went to get my wife some milk chocolates for her birthday that she loves. Always satisfying. Got an extra nice greeting from Regina. She's always so bubbly and excited to see me. She's a gem!

Delicious cafe! Great sandwiches. Obviously their candy is to die for, and the ice cream buffet is a classic. Great place that puts time and care into their store, food, ambiance, and overall experience. Very friendly.

My first time ever going here despite living in the North Shore most of my life. Not outstanding overall but definitely above average. My son loved it and wanted one of everything (what toddler doesn't) which means we'll be back. I wouldn't go by myself but make my kid happy you made me happy.

Had a blast decorating gingerbread houses. Ice cream was great!

With all the renovations they did, I thought the ice cream parlor section was renovated, but doesn't seem to be the case. Could just be personal preference but I never liked the ice cream setup before and still don't like it. It's kind of dark and it's a very plain setup with minimal options. With places like Orange Leaf available, I thought they would start offering a similar variety and experience but this place is just ok.

Ice cream was delicious, but their advertising is misleading. The all you can eat ice cream is really 1-3 scoops with unlimited toppings. You can only go up for toppings once for health reasons. Worth a visit, but it is not what it says it is.

This place is iconic I've been going there since I was a child they're very good homemade candies the ice cream is average but all the different toppings on the ice cream bar are to dead for. I highly recommended if you have kids and you want to take them out for a treat.

Ice cream smorgasbord is a little pricey for the amount you get.

Had to bring my daughter after having a nearby family event. I hadn't been there in 20+ yrs and it was close enough to how I remembered it to be an excellent time. I'll always remember the toppings bar and the fun it was to go with a child....and/or a sweets loving wife.

Great place for candies and their ice cream topping bar. They also have a party room that s available to anyone when it s not in use.

Their chocolate and candy selection is the best around.

The worst part is their location that s only available only off of Route 1 North and if you miss it you re looping around. Be careful of the parking lot. Go slow pulling in and try to park near the back if you re bringing little ones.

What a FANTASTIC place to have a party! Regina was so amazingly accommodating, and she was super helpful during the actual party!! The prices are more than fair, and it really is a great venue for a kids party! Don't miss out, this is the place to go for birthday parties! Thank you Putnam!!

This is a great little place!! The ice cream was delish and you get to make your own sundae with their homemade hot fudge, whipped cream, strawberries etc. !

Putnam Pantry is always a good place to just sit and eat your favorite ice cream no matter what age you are.

Lunches are great, as well as ice cream and candies.

This was a cute little shop with tons of fresh and homemade candy. Ice cream was okay and the novelty of putting on your own toppings was nice, but a bit messy.

Great sundae smorgasbord and sandwich and broccoli salad yum!!

We didn't realize there was a cafe here serving lunch - what a pleasant surprise! We went for the Mayflower turkey sandwich, the ham and cheese and grilled cheese. All came on deliciously toasted bread! As if that wasn't enough we stayed for sundaes and root beer floats. Highly recommended!

Brings back good times and childhood memories! They always have my favorite kinds of goodies and the milk shakes are perfectly thick! I love being able to see the chocolate Making stations and always need to grab a grilled cheese from Cathie's Cafe! Worth the drive from Reading
