Love this place! Great Caribbean food. Do understand though, that it is Caribbean food, not Mexican food. Much lighter seasoning and expect to taste more of the meat and less of the seasoning. The drinks are reasonably priced for what you get. you will be hard pressed to get drinks like this, as strong as these are, anywhere else for this price. Don't even think of having 2 rum runners if you are driving. If you have a designated driver, go ahead and enjoy! Don't come here expecting over seasoned Mexican food. Don't come here expecting a fancy dining experience. Come here for the great atmosphere, the great location, the great food, the outstanding drinks, and the great people. Come here if you miss the Caribbean.

Beautiful dining on the Columbia River. The food was stellar and the waitresses were highly attentive. When joked to my girlfriend that I was going to smash the glass cup of water that they gave me, she brought a refill in a plastic cup. I felt listened to. Thank you Puffin Cafe. Better than 5 years of therapy.
Delicious burger, great lemonade (in a mason jar, so a good photo op) and nice atmosphere. Next to a dock, good view of the Columbia River, and the outside area is shaded.
My jalapeno strawberry margarita was not jalapenoey (aware not a word but funny) at all. The other drink was strong.. So, well done. Not the best visit..but only my second. The staff was freaking amazing as always.
A quaint, family owned restaurant. Fabulous food, beautiful view of the river, modestly priced. My favorite place to eat. You need to try them. You won't regret it!
I ordered the fish n chips. The waffle fries are really good, but I was less thrilled with the soggy batter on my deep fried fish. Wait staff were friendly and helpful. Location is great.
We hoped for the best. The jerk chicken tacos (Montego Bay Chicken Tacos) were not good. The portions were generous, but the chicken was dry, bland and totally lacked in flavor. I would recommend that the cooks marinate the chicken, overnight, so the flavor is there within the chicken. And please don't overcook the chicken. The taco shells were store bought generic types, not prepped for this dish as it should have been. The fried Okra had no flavor. The Okra could be seasoned a bit before breading it and deep frying. Just not worth the $10.75 price for two. The slaw wasn't too good and they use canned pineapples. The beer was fine, but that was bottled, can't go wrong with that. This place has such potential and I cannot understand how it cannot strive to offer something more, something people can't wait to return back for. We'd return, but maybe for the beer and next time we'll try the waffle fries. But we wouldn't try any other dish on the menu, maybe except for the desert. We were going to head of to the Tin Shed Cafe in Portland, which is our regular place, which by the way has the best tacos de pescado ever, made with wild caught salmon and seasoned to perfection for only $7.00, but we wanted to give this place a try. Next time we'll drive out to Portland. The cooks really need some chef training. They looked pretty young and inexperienced. Cooking is an art. If this place wants to make a lot of $$$$, it must pay attention to the details with regards to how their food is bought, prepped and cooked. The devil is in the DETAILS!
Best halibut and shrimp in the area! I got this fish tacos, and they were on par to being the best I ve ever had, though I would have preferred coleslaw instead of the lettuce. The blackberry salsa that came with it was the perfect accompaniment for the tacos. The fried okra was delicious too! Just wish it came with something to dip it in :) My mom ordered the coconut shrimp and salad and she loved Everything about it! Kids meals were eh... wish they had a fish n chip option or any seafood option for that matter for the kiddos. My son was not fond of the Mac n cheese and smiley fries. But loved the halibut I shared with him from my taco. We ll be back to try more menu items!!
Right on the water if you want a view with your meal then this is the place! I ve tried just about everything on the menu but my favorite is the Coconut shrimp
Really cool little known "Pirate" hangout. Great menu, staff and food. Halibut fish and chips, Jerk Chicken / Pork etc. Good drinks and a festive sailing atmosphere. We come here from Portland cause it's worth the drive.
Luv this place. Have been coming here for year's. Great food! Summer time they have music. Entertainment is watching boaters put in and pull out, with the current here on the Columbia river. Fish sandwich and a rum runner is my recommendation.
Love the food and beer. I got a table right at the water awesome! The fish tacos were excellent and the chocolate cake too! Forget the decaf coffe tho tasted bad. Service was fast and friendly. Would recommend this place to everyone who likes a real down to earth meal.
The puffins is one of our favorite family restaurants. We love being on the water and their spicy crab soup is fantastic. I don't think we have ever ordered anything that wasn't delicious.
Love this place. Nothing beats having drinks down on the dock. Be careful on the way back up the ramp after a few beers. It can be dicey! The nautical vibe is rich. Great spot for sunsets, boat appreciation and people watching. Service is great in summer. The location is pure gold.
Had a horrible first visit here. Our waitress was horrible. Either they needed to take more time to train her or she was just a plain idiot who obviously doesnt care to much about having a job. The food was alright, nothing special. The one thing I did really like was the kids meals. They came with a snowcone and a prize from the treasure chest.
Food was ok yet too pricey for value. My order was a small portion for $ and the time we waited, at 2pm on a Tuesday. While considered trendy for the area the establishment is small and tight seating. Lacked quality AC or air movement on my visit. Doubt that will change. All in all, too expensive I felt for a qwik lunch, cocktails, or the area.
The Cafe was having technical difficulties so the full menu wasn't available but the food we had, chicken tacos and pork sandwich, were delicious! And the location is stunning, right on the river in Washougal. Prices were reasonable and staff was friendly and helpful. We'll go back in the summer to enjoy an outside table and tasty food with great views.
The description of the nacho sounded great but when they came it was just some cheese whiz and olives The margaritas I got tasted vastly different one was good the other one was just playing sour would not go back here but it is a good location maybe pack a lunch and eat at the park
Only had chips, mango salsa, and guacamole. Salsa and guac were very bland. Friendly service but didn't check with me at all after the food was dropped off. Had to ask for a napkin. I've walked by lots of times while waiting for service on my truck but this was the first time I went in. I probably won't go back.
The food was good normal size portions however it was grossly overpriced. For three adults and two kids the bill was $120 we did not have any alcohol and that did not include gratuity
We've been there many times and the food was good for pub food. Went there last week and the food was horrible and the service was bad too. The Nachos had almost NO cheese meat. The girl was busy but even so the service was poor. I hope they can fix what's wrong because it can be a fun place.
Fun place right on the river! The kitchen was a little slow but our waitress was great, very friendly and helpful. Everything we ate was delicious. Highly recommend the fish tacos and the coconut shrimp appetizer.
Super cute little place. Great good. Closes early so be prepared for that. It's hard to see from the lot. Go down the boat ramp . It's floating in the marina : )
