Broadway Rose Theatre Company Review

Good, clean family entertainment, which is becoming a rarity.

The venue was nice. The show was excellent. We saw Mental Health @ the Mic.

So delightful. Kudos to Bliss. .the manager. Couldnt find a nicer person. She has always personally helped me with handicap seating. So gracious. Thank you Bliss for helping my friend and me with the special seating on Sundays performance of Gypsy which was terrific.

Excellent venue for events and for theater productions. Lots of parking.

Friendly staff, nice hometown feel to the venues, reasonably priced, always entertaining. Highly recommend

Up and Away was a fantasy comic book play that just was not my cup of tea. Pointless and nonsensical. The singing was great!

However, No comparison with the Broadway shows I have watched at Keller auditorium and of course in New York! Ha!

Fun place, all seats are excellent & performers were fabulous

High quality community theater in a well groomed yet intimate space in Tigard. Mostly musicals. Recently saw Once and it was fantastic. Well staged and cast. A wonderful story, well-acted with beautiful songs and a lot of heart.

This is just not some small town, let s put on a play company. Broadway Rose is as professional as any theater company from the big city. We have been to many of their productions, and we can t wait to go see all of their performances this summer!

Those of us that live in the Tigard area are so fortunate to have the Broadway Rose Theater Company located in our midst. They attract excellent talent and put on terrific musicals at extremely reasonable prices. They put on six plays a year, with the two largest productions in summer at the Deb Fennell Auditorium, Tigard HIgh School, and the four smaller productions at the New Stage, on Grant Street in Tigard. We've never been disappointed by a performance. Dan Murphy, the Managing Director, personally greets the audience and introduces the play at practically every performance. He must have been a stand-up comic in another life. He and his wife, Sharon Maroney, the Artistic Director, usually star in one of the productions (come see Gypsy at the Deb Fennell this summer), and bring in wonderful talent for the rest of the line-up. The sets, costumes, lighting, and everything that creates the theater magic is highly professional. If you like musical theater, you're in for a treat at the Broadway Rose.

Thanks to the Broadway Rose Theatre and its employees, the Tigard Chamber of Commerce had another wonderful Holiday Happy Hour last night. They so graciously open their doors to us to celebrate the holiday season and to collect gifts for various charities. Special thanks to Dan and Paul who helped us with all our needs.

Also, I have been to several of their productions and have been thoroughly entertained every time. Kudos to the Broadway Rose Theatre!

Broadway Rose consistently produces the best live community theatre in town. It gives Portland Center Stage strong competition. While one organization is small yet powerful and the other large and upscale, my choice is always Broadway Rose. Both use equity players in wonderful productions.

This is a nice, intimate theater. There are no bad seats. The musical productions are always well done.

I'm reviewing this from the POV of a performer -- I recently had the opportunity to take part in a dance performance at this theatre. So while I can't say how things were for the audience, they were great for the dancers. We had a large, well-lit dressing room with clothing racks to hang our costumes and lots of mirrors with seats so everyone could do their makeup. Amazing!

The stage, lighting, and sound were all very nice. No weird spots on the floor, and there is SIDE LIGHTING to give dance that all-important 3d lighting to really show the dimensions of our work. Our music was perfectly audible for us on the stage so we didn't miss our cues.

Seating is stadium-style so I suspect for the audience, there's not a bad seat in the house.

The only real downside is that it is way out in Tigard, which was a bit of a haul for those of us staying in Portland, we had to arrange carpools to get everyone there.

It was a great experience! Strong voices, talented dancers, the lead Male was outstanding-not only a great dancer but his acrobatics were breathtaking. I didn't have a program so I don't know his name.

Great shows. Great sets. Great actors and actresses. Great music and lighting.

I've seen several plays here with my parents and the live theater is always a pleasure.

The Broadway Rose Theater is one of the Best Theaters in Portland Metro area for a play that is Unique and Wonderful. The whole staff and actors really appreciate what they do for the audience. IN TO THE WOODS is a remarkable 2 acts that go non stop and delighted Me Start to Finish. 5 STARS

Broadway Rose is wonderful place to see some great musical productions. The staff is very nice and helpful. They have a small selection of snacks along with some beer and wine. We went to see Nunsense a few weeks ago and it was well worth the money.

We saw "murder for two" on this visit. Everything is memorable. The directors sense of humor, the facility and the accessibility. Well done. Most notably this show was absolutely incredible. The two actors, pianists and dancers knocked our socks off. It was incredible to witness the talent required for this show emerge. Thanks for the incredible experience.

Play was superb! 14 of us went together and had a ball.

Capacity crowd for the final play of "Murder for Two". The facilities there are great. The particular play we saw wasn't really my favorite. The 2 actors were great just didn't care for it.

Theater had 200-plus seats, family-style, giving a most appropriate atmosphere for the musical, "Nunsense". Laughed a lot, enjoyed it immensely.

Broadway Rose is a fabulous top quality theater. The performances are entertaining and professional.

I'm always STUNNED at the level of talent here. Each performance seems to top the one before it. Footloose is a wonderful, funny, high energy show that shouldn't be missed. What a great theater!

This is such a wonderful theatre. It's a small venue and every seat has a great view. Good parking. Nice restrooms. I don't know if the greeter and concession folks are employees or volunteers, but everyone is always so nice.

I've thoroughly enjoyed each of the productions my wife and I have seen here. They've got a good variety of shows throughout the year too. Every element of the productions, from the top notch acting talent to set design, lighting, music arrangement, choreography...everything is dialed in.

Performances are top quality. Even with the current small theater, every aspect of the play is thoughtfully and skillfully presented. Only rave reviews and standing ovations from us.

Broadway Rose Theater produces some of the best musical theater productions. If you haven't attended I would recommend you put it on your to-do list. Mama Mia is coming next!!

Great little theater with talented performers and good sets!

One of the best places in Portland to attend plays that offer first rate entertainment. Actors and music are second to none. Intimate venue where there is not a bad seat in the house. Refreshments are available.

This off Broadway Theater production is actually better then NY. True professionals all around. From the front desk will call to the band and of course the highly talented performers. You can tell they love what they do and do it very well is what they do. Future season ticket holders we will be.

I have attended Chamber events here. It is a beautiful facility. I can't wait to catch a production here sometime.

Saw "Into the Woods" fabulous production. Theater is perfect, we sat in the last row and didn't have any issues being entertained. Staff was friendly and professional, facilities were maintained and accessible. Parking was ample. Will look at upcoming shows when we're back in town.
