ER wait time is ridiculous. (4hrs)
doctors treat you like drug abuser if you've been here before in pain ( even with documented proof of a problem ). They come very close to giving too much pain medication while in the room but then will refuse to send you home with anything no matter how much pain you're in. only good thing: the nurse "Rainbow" is amazing and treats her patients quite well. Just perfect.

My Namie is Jamie H. And On July 20, 21 of 2016 I was attacked by a patient back to back days while in the care of Portland Providence Hospital at 4805 NE Glisan Street, Portland, OR 97213. When it first happened to me I reported to the nurse she told me "You all have problems go lay down and didnt send me to the ER to get checked knowing that I had Post concussion syndrome.

The next day I was eating breakfast with with a group of girls and the same person came up behind me named Roy and hit me twice on my head and immedietly I started crying. One of the girls got up and ran got the same nurse and the other girls surrounded me. The nurse put me on my walker and ran me to my bathroom where I had a big panic attack with loss of funtion. Then she put me in my bed and once again didnt take me to the Emergency room to get check knowing I had post concussion syndrome. I reported to the doctor when I saw him. He immediately stopped the meeting with me and talked to the nurses.

I'm releasing this story because Providence Portland is trying to cover up this story. And people need to know the truth about this hospital. I contacted quality management and filed a complaint. When I got out of the hospital and seen a couple doctors In the letter I got back from her she wouldn't share what was done to correct the problem for future times.

I found out 2 weeks ago thru a investgation complaint that the doctor and nurse never put that I was attacked during my stay with them. And continued to lie and say there was no problems with my stay when there was problems with me after I was attacked. So there doing a cover up.

When I filed a complain with Risk management Ema opened the case and then I got a call from her stating she never got the paper work from my primary doctor. So after hanging up from her I called my doctors office. I found out the info and immediately called and left Ema a voice message. Well Ema never sent me any mail. On March 2018 I called Ema to let her know I'm closing my case and this Ema informs me she closed my case 10 months after she opened it because she never got my doctors info and shes all anger at me and blaming me for it and saying she never got my primary doctor files and that I have I have prior injuries. Well I know that the hospitals logo says its to keep patients safe and they failed to keep me safe. They have treated me badly. So I got a letter from my doctors office proving that Ema did recieve my records from my primary doctors offices. That she is lying. I called to put a complaint into her supervisor. Someone transfered me to a lady. I told the whole story asking several times are you Emas supervisor the lady said yes. I asked for the ladies name she said Margaret. I repeated the name she said yes. At the end of the call I asked again are you the supervisor she said no. I said why did you lie. She paused and said I'm sick I didnt hear you. I said no. Whats the supervisor phone # I called a 425 area phone 3 times no one called me back. Something needs to be done. Ema never sent me paperwork saying she closed my claim. I also told the story to a Lisa who said she would call me with someone to help me she never called me back from risk management. I spoke to a washington lady named Susan and filed a complaint on Ema and Margaret and told the story of everything and that was on May 1 or 2nd , 2018 and Susan calls me and tells me that Ema is going to call me thursday or Friday May 3 o 4th well its the 7th and once again I have not heard from Ema. This story needs to be heard. I'm still dealing with trauma from the attack. Providence needs to take responsibility. It doesn't matter if I had prior injuries I came to there hospital for help and they had a right and responsibility to keep me safe they failed to do that and I'm still being affected by the attack and being ignored and I have a disability and this is how they treat disabaled people they should be ashamed of themselves and the risk management people should all be investigated. Thank you

I had an excellent experience in the ED several days ago after an accident. Staff were nice and luckily I was able to get in and out within a few hours. In reading some of the other reviews, having worked in the hospital setting in the past, I can say that unfortunately emergency departments are expensive and there can be long wait times. EDs have to be fully prepped with staff and a multitude of high end equipment to meet the needs of many different types of illness/injuries that can present. This results in higher costs that get passed down to patients. Bottom line unless you are in a serious emergency that cannot be dealt with at an urgent care or your PCP office don t go to the ED. You will wait if the ED is busy and you are there for a non-emergent illness/injury. Triage nurses jobs are to assess the severity of patients based on a uniform system (called Emergency Severity Index) which is an algorithm created to rank patients on a 1-5 scale based on several factors- it is not just someone randomly picking who goes next. Even if another patient seems like they are ok , they may be showing serious symptoms that one may not be able to discern from the outside. I will agree with several that billing departments at many hospitals can be frustrating to deal with. I have heard of quite a few cases of errors in billing be sure to check your bill and call billing if something seems off. They often will work with you.

My review is for the nurses and L&D team at Providence.

On October 13th I was admitted because my 32 week fetus was having random heart decelerations.
Over the next 2 weeks I was kept hospitalized on 24 heart rate monitoring and he (my baby) continued having on average 10 decels a day. Each time, nurses would rush in and we would change my positions and administer oxygen and IV fluid until he recovered within a couple minutes. There was a plan in place to deliver by emergency c-section if he ever showed signs of not recovering.

The nurses, OB, L&D and the entire Oregon Clinic Midwifery East team (I usually worked with Denali, Patel, Bley, Caldwell and Polo) worked tirelessly over those couple weeks to keep my baby and I safe. On October 26th, on his 34th week of gestation, we decided to deliver by regular cesarean surgery.
He was born at 12:36pm healthy and handsome, and we discovered the cause of his heart decelerations were because of a nuchal cord around his neck.

I have no doubt in my mind that the team of physicians and nurses saved the life of my baby.

I am eternally grateful, and would recommend The Oregon Clinic Midwifery East, as well as the entire L&D team at Providence in Glisan to anyone and everyone. We had an incredibly difficult and unique situation and they handled it beautifully.

My son is now on his journey to homecoming in the NICU at Providence and improving everyday. Thank you to all involved.

Everyone- doctors, nursers, transporters everyone- treated me with compassion and concern from the second I walked in. It was very busy, a weekend, so the wait was long but they communicated well and were available to answer any questions I had at the front desk. I never felt forgotten about or passed over. I want to especially thank the doctor and nurse that helped me last week- you made an awful, scary experience tolerable and I felt secure that I was in good hands the entire time

worst doctors office i've dealt with in decades. rude staff, patronizing doctor, and mistake after mistake after mistake. just glad i didn't need them for anything important while they were my "primary" care folks. i would NEVER go to this clinic again, no matter how desperate I was. You are better off getting your routine care at the ER.

I went to the ER on Monday night at 9pm. I had four blood lab tests done and by 1230am I was leaving. I've had symptoms for three months and I just wanted them to a blood test for severe itching and rash. By Friday morning I was still waiting so I called the lab and they said they results were in and to call me Dr for the outcome. I asked if PC or ER Dr and she said either. Called my PC and they hadn't received them. So I called the ER back, mentioned blood work and they sent me to imaging, then I was sent to patient records who told me they couldn't tell me over the phone without a signed physical release. So I WENT in, then they told me I could have just asked for it to be uploaded to the online portal while I was on the phone earlier! Then she uploaded it but I wasn't seeing it. So I went back down and had them print it off. Now I have the results but I don't know how to interpret them. And of course the Records clerk doesn't know how either. So I go back downtown the ER. She calls an LPN. He takes them back to the RN, who calls me into a room to explain the Non-reactive result is negative(which is good). I HAD TO TALK TO 8 DIFFERENT STAFF MEMBERS JUST TO GET THE NEGATIVE RESULTS OF A BLOOD TEST. I feel that's a bit excessive. I hope to never have to go back here again. ER staff was at least friendly and helpful when I encountered them.

As far as hospitals at 4 am with a broken wrist go, this hospital treated me well. As in most situations, as long as you are as polite and patient as possible, you will have the best experience possible. Expeditious, efficient and professional

There is an outrageous co-pay then the lady that took us back couldn't spell. She asked to spell puppy. While the first lady was in the room someone else just walked in on us. After the doctor seen us a third person asked (for the third time) what happened.
All in all I would go to adventist medical center

Absolutely outstanding care and facility. Top notch staff. They're great with patients and family members alike. They know the questions we're going to ask before we ask them. Have family that have visited several times and have received excellent care each time.

Don't waist you money or time. Legacy is WAY cleaner and better care. Been going to Legacy since I was born and seeing providence was a disapointment.

If you care about your loved ones please take them elsewhere. From my experience The providence health system is amongst the worst in Portland. I brought my wife there in March for a upper GI and during the visit I pointed out to the doctor that my wife was extremely ill. He told a nurse that I was over-exaggerating and she would be okay. A week later I brought my wife to OHSU and she s been in ICU ever since fighting for her life. On top of that the area where she had fluid drained developed MRSA. I will never ever go to this hospital again. Please heed my warning.

(This is to the Oregon Clinic Office at the Hosp). One of the times i called Mark whitefords office of Oregon clinic, the advise nurse named Trisha answered which i have talked to before. She ended up telling me they cant seem to figure out why I'm having the post op. pains and that "I have a low pain tolerance" i was pretty much in shock that a nurse could tell a patient in pain that they have a low pain tolerance . Thats just calling me a wuss in a nicer way, from a nurse! Pain is subjective and something most nurses know. I was pretty hurt and angry by the whole thing so i call them back to speak to a charge nurse, which they don't have so i spoke to the "supervisor". She understood that she should not have said it but then comes to tell me its a term they use sometimes, at this point i was in a awe. My brother is a MD and my mom is a nurse at legacy and both said it is totally unacceptable and if it happened at Legacy or OHSU Trisha would be fired no questions asked. I almost went to the board of nursing because i was hurt still but trying to just put it behind me and at least get the word out there that there is bad and hurtful nurses still! What worries me is if she said this to me, what has she said to other innocent patients in pain? You don't tell someone that goes through the hell of severe UC and 4 surgeries that that they have a low pain tolerance no matter who you are, And frankly anyone that knows the hell i have been through the past years would never even think of such a thing. On a positive note, Thanks to Dr. Chang for getting me in to see Whiteford so quick.

This is my families go to hospital! We haven't run into any problems yet, other than booking an appointment or two. The staff and professionals are the best and look out for our community. Also last spring I was able to watch a lung surgery, which was AWESOME!!!

The care provided for me was overdone so I could be charged more. I went in because of some pain and got thrown onto a gurney and a patient suit absent my clothes. Only one test was performed that essentially boiled down to this: I was completely fine. I then received a bill in the mail a few weeks later that was asking me to pay 500$. What?! Are you kidding me? From the results of the ONE test that was done, nothing was wrong with me. I didn't even stay at the hospital for more than a couple hours. Oh, and get this. I was charged 10 dollars for one little Ibuprofen pill. Thanks. F**k this hospital. F**k you money grubbing doctors that get away with taking advantage of the sick. This is why American healthcare SUCKS. NEVER GO HERE UNLESS YOU'RE DYING. IT'S A WASTE OF MONEY.

I had ear surgery at this facility. I was all prepped and ready for surgery, reclined on the gurney with my husband sitting next to me. The nurse came in and said, "Okay, time for your pregnancy test." I said, "What???" She said I had to have a pregnancy test to have surgery. I said, "You know I'm about 3 weeks shy of 55 years old, right? Post-menopausal, oh, and my husband has been "fixed" for over 20 years. Apparently my word was not good enough. I had to have a pregnancy test or I could not have surgery. I can only conclude that the test was based on the assumption I was lying and having extra-marital affairs. I had to have the surgery to prevent deafness and I had already planned time off from work, etc. Thank goodness I have a good marriage and this conversation - all taking place in front of my husband - did not cause any problems. What if I had a violent husband? What if this incident triggered something? At this facility, women are liars and suspected of unfaithfulness; we have no privacy rights and our lives don't matter as much as an imaginary embryo.

Professional & compassionate care - remarkably excellent. I was in Portland recently for a conference and ended up in the ER with what I thought might be appendicitis. Being sick while traveling stinks, but I felt *incredibly* well taken care of by this hospital. I was taken back into the ER within 15" of walking in, and nearly cried when the desk nurse said, "I'm sorry you feel so badly. We're glad you came in. We're going to take care of you." I mean, have you ever had that sort of compassionate, kind reception at an ER?!? Dr. Trueworthy (I kid you not, that that was his name!) back in the ER was similarly kind, but also astute and a very clear communicator. I'm not an MD but I am a scientist, and he was able to clearly and compellingly answer my detailed Qs about what he thought might be wrong, and why, and what they were going to do about it. I ended up being admitted to a room on the surgical floor, where they spent the following 3 days seeing if my issue (an inflamed colon that had obstructed - super painful and sucky - never had anything like it before) would resolve with IV fluids and walking, or would need surgery. The entire team there, from Drs. Yu, Zink and others, to nurses Ginny, Raquel and colleagues, to even the meal people (once i finally could take clear fluids again), were just *exceptionally* professional, courteous, and very clear at communicating. I've been fighting cancer for the last year so have spent a lot of time with medical staff, at a nationally respected facility, and yet the care I received at Providence Portland was even better than I receive at my home institution. One example: I was supposed to either be walking or sleeping, to try to resolve my blockage without surgery. Walking on the hospital floor gets boring. So they let me go outside and walk on the sidewalk to get some sun and fresh air, when I wasn't hooked up to anything. This made such a *huge* difference in my experience, to be able to get fresh air, sun, and be under the trees through some of the hours of walking. In addition, at night they gave me some gentle sleeping medication to help me sleep despite the pain *and* they were incredibly organized about minimizing disturbances through the night. (In stark contrast to the few other times I've had to overnight at the hospital). While I hope I don't get sick in Portland again, if I do, I know exactly where I'll come. These people were amazing.

This is not Rafa Greenwood. This is his friend Paula Sundwall, but I don't use Google so I"m writing my review from his acct which is fine with him because he's just as angry as I am about the experience we had at the Providence ER yesterday.

After being bed-ridden for a good part of 13 days with no way to even get to the hospital,. my bf called 911 after I passed out twice in my bedroom simply trying to walk from point A to point B. I told the ambulance drivers of my flu symptoms, while vomiting but when I arrived at the ER a nurse said my pupils were pinpoint and from there on they proceeded to pump me full of 3 bags of solution to get me to pee so they could, without my knowledge as to why, do a UA to prove that I didn't have the flu but was going through withdrawals, They did not check my nodes, my throat my ears, my temperature, nothing. It was a witchhunt from the get go....and even were I a drug addict, is it not wrong to NOT treat my illness AT ALL because of it??? Dr. Todd Guerrett Buerk is an inhumane creep. And here comes day 15 in bed, in pain, and dehydrated again already...

This medical center is exceptional and an immense valued asset both to the community as well as its patient s. The Admittance Desk is a neverend kindness and very helpful. As for the Dept where certain testing require sedation they are above and beyond. The front desk to that dept these women assist and make you feel like a patient and not just $$$! Excluding the stoic Susan who is a nurse and causes conflict instead of being the resolution. In such field being compassionate and extending assistance to help a patients needs Susan needs a recourse ASAP! From the moment I walked into my room I requested Susan not assist or help in my care and she is also too mean natured. All opposite in credentials a nurse should possess or make her patient feel which is an injustice. In sustaining such as a patient but, as a human being seeking medical attention on any level. Now Kelly is amazing not only as a nurse but, in compassion and handling your care this woman is remarkable. Not forgetting Stephanie who is too with a kind and caring mode providing the best care a nurse can give her patient. Anna assisted me in wheelchair to get my ride was amazing too. In this hospital the only negativity was Nurse Susan and her barbaric attitude so forth. The hospital is clean and caring thank you Kelly you made the Susan Situation a solvent and a positive outcome. Thank you Kelly in all you provided to me and my needs may god bless you thrice to anything and all you adore.

My mother was here for brain surgery. They told her weeks ago that she would stay the night in the ICU. Last minute they call and tell her to be here an hour earlier than scheduled. When we arrived we waited 2 hours for her original time for pre OP CT. Surgery started a half hour late and when completed there was no bed for her anywhere in the hospital!. She stayed in recovery for hours waiting for a room. No ICU bed, no med surg, no neuro bed! What should have been a 4-6 hour day in surgery turned into more than 10 hours!. As a matter of fact we are still waiting in short stay waiting room! We were the first ones here and the last to leave!

This hospital ER is awesome! From beginning to end I was treated with the utmost respect & professionalism. The entire nursing staff was great along with the respiratory department, x-ray department & Dr. Howton. Not a fan of going to the ER but if the need arises this will be the place that I go.

My girlfriend was on floor 5G and she had a horrible experience. The nurse decided to take it upon herself to get a different doctor changed her pain medicine. My girlfriend cannot take pills with opiates without throwing up. Who the hell does she think she is? Horrible place for sick people.

We ve had mostly negative experiences with Providence. Mostly due to their doctors lack of bedside manors, or just plain rude ness. From a doctor actually laughing at my child to making inappropriate remarks during an exam, we re done with them unless we need lab tests.

It is better not to be in any hospital, but if it is unavoidable , Providence is the place. Over the past 2 years my father was a patient at Glisan multiple times on different floors. It was extremely difficult times for us, but I do not remember that I could complain or worry about my father's care or services. We were surrounded by professionalism and compassion from caregivers of the 7th and 8th neurology floors, 2nd pulmonary floor and CCU, ER. People of Providence is an exclusive, selected and dedicated group. Once I shared with one of the doctors that my father received exceptional services at Providence. The doctor corrected me : " We provide care, not services." Nothing else to add...

*STOLEN RING AFTER THIS HOSPITAL WENT AGAINST PROTOCOL AND REMOVED MY GRANDMOTHER'S WEDDING RING FROM HER DECEASED BODY.
On Saturday April 27th, 2019, my Grandmother passed away at Providence Portland Medical Center located on NE Glisan st. Over the next few days following her passing, as family members returned to our homes with grief heavy in our hearts and anticipation for what our next steps may be--my father received a phone call from from the funeral home notifying him that his mother s wedding ring is missing and not with the body. My grandfather was told by the hospital that the ring will be sent with his wife when the funeral home picks her up. When we contacted the hospital, we were told that the ring is, in fact, in their care. However, were we wrong about their idea of what care truly means

After meeting with the supervisor for the information that they weren t giving my father, I was informed that this mess in indeed their fault. I was told an investigation is in progress, they have found the nurse who in the supervisor s words, went against protocol and removed the ring from the deceased body. From there, it was never put securely in their safe. This process has been going on now for two weeks, and my grandmother is officially in the ground without her wedding ring. Every time we reach Providence Portland Medical Center, we are told about meetings being put into place about protocols and procedures, but nothing about where my grandmother s ring is at or where they are at in an investigation.

When asked about what legal actions that we as the family may take due to their negligence, she simply told me that she didn t know. I wonder how--without proper education and knowledge on protocols, procedures, as well as not having knowledge of the negative repercussions that the hospital could face when not following these procedures correctly-- how ARE they truly ensuring the safety of family belongings to prevent these sort of things from happening?!
The most help that I received from this Supervisor was direction on how to contact their Customer Care Team and/or Security to file a lost item report. I am sorry, but our family is grieving and this is a mess that YOUR team created, the least they could do is report the STOLEN item themselves.

This ring never left my grandmother s finger over my grandparents 64 years of marriage. My grandmother was 16, grandfather 17, when they met as Grandpa was in Basic Training. He took her to the movies for her 16th birthday, and they attended a fair together where he won this ring and married her. Through their 64 years of marriage, this ring followed them through both their happy and bitter times, as well as raise 5 kids whom they adopted together. It breaks my heart in a million pieces that Grandpa not only had to bury his wife, but do so without the ring that so happily bonded them together over all of their years.

A police report has been filed and we are in the process of taking legal action. I share this story in hopes that it not only puts pressure on the hospital for their negligence, but it also reaches a family before they make the same mistake of trusting this hospital as my family did. No grieving family should ever have to deal with this mess.

A week ago, I gave birth at Providence Portland. I couldn't speak more highly of all of the nurses, doctors, midwives, and doulas who cared for us both before and after my daughter's birth. They supported us through a traumatic situation and we are so much better for having shared that experience with them.

His method was perfect with no pain at all. Much better than the first test that was given to me in Roseburg Oregon by an oncologist.

I had surgery here by Dr.Martin Baggenstos on L 3-5 in 2015. I woke up with debilitating nerve damage to both feet and returned to Providence Portland Medical Center again 3 weeks later in an ambulance with MSSA staph infection at the site and had to have emergency surgery. I was put on life support for 11 days. I went home with a PICC line and had to see an infectious disease doctor and was on medication for years. To make matters worse my back pain is still as bad as ever. He s a nice guy but I wasn t looking for a friend. He and Providence took no responsibility.

We have been sitting in the ER for over three hours now and they still haven t seen my wife or done anything other than check vitals. She s here for chest pain. This doesn t seem like an appropriate wait time at a first rate hospital in a first world country. Maybe we ll go to Adventist next time.

I am currently looking for new doctors, because employment changed. I was thinking, who is the best doctor I know. I concluded, Dr. Linda Hungerford is the best doctor from whom I have ever been privileged to receive care. She isn't just a great doctor, she is a marvelous human being with whom it is lovely to be in company. She set the groundwork for some really amazingly helpful lifestyle choices and found just the right medications when others had failed before her... Thanks!

I checked in to Providence Medical Center for a CAT Scan and Ultrasound. Five months later I received a bill and learned from my insurance company they are out of network. Providence was presented my insurance card at check in and should have told me my carrier was out of network. This mistake has cost me about $1000. They need to inform patients whether carriers are out of network. Some other hospitals inform their patients of carriers out of network. I will never do business with Providence again.

They gave my dad the best treatment they could and sent him to specialists in his autoimmune disease. I believe this Hospital still holds values for their patients, and has one of the best Neurologists in the state.

I have reg issues with clotting/dvt symptoms. Anytime I have to get care here I am always impressed with how friendly the staff are. I have been here mult times now and never experienced an issue with them. I feel so safe when I am under their care. In fact I think come open enrollment we are going to change care providers. The ER staff is so friendly and I don't get treated like a freak here people see me as a human being and that just means the world to me!!

Waited 3 or 4 hours to get a room in the ER while in screaming pain, very humiliating. When I finally got a room and some help, the doctor came in and rushed me out because they were changing to night shift. Next time I would rather risk it driving to a different city, county, state, whatever it takes. 2 stars because I didn't leave worse off than I arrived.

After being admitted to Providence Portland Medica...

After being admitted to Providence Portland Medical Center Hospital for an extremely painful infection in my left arm, my overall views and feelings about medical care in a large hospital setting has forever been changed. I have been here for the past seven days and have never experienced the superior care, kindness and overall genuine hospitality I have received here. Every member of the nursing staff I have encountered has gone above and beyond their duties, making me feel extrmely comfortable regardless of the pain I have been in, providing me with care that has far surpassed that of any medical facility i have ever been admitted to. I could not ask for better care. The men and the women of the respiratory unit on the second floor (I was placed here because of the shortness of available space when i was admitted) really and truly cared about my situation, taking time out of their extremely hectic and stressful schedules to listen to what I had to say. These men and women here at this Hospital in the respiratory unit hav made my experience here at this Hospital one I will never forget. They have changed my view of hospital care forever and I thank God for such incredibly kind and knowledgeable people. (ESPECIALLY THE NURSING STAFF) that provided me with such compassionate care. After having lost my daughter and mother last year i honestly was on the verge of completely giving up hope until I came here. I want to extend a special thank you to everyone that was involved in my care sinceI've been here GOD BLESS YOU ALL!! you are all a true blessing to the medical field and to me!!

I am appalled. I have Power of Attny for my mom, who has dementia and is declining rapidly. I've always really liked her Doctor, but I need answers to some questions....i have no brothers or sisters to help me make decisions, and her doctor won't speak to me unless my mom is on the video visit. I want to talk about things that she doesn't want to hear, as in living somewhere besides her home, and possibly hospice. So, i have no one, and i don't know if i'm doing the right thing or not. This is not "excellent care".

I only wish I could give providence hospital 100 stars. The RN's and the CNA's are the greatest humans who walk the planet!!!!!! Carring, compassionate, knowledgeable, dedicated, the list is endless
Providence Portland is one of,if not the best hospital in the world. All the way from the staff in the ER to the staff in the kitchen. The volunteers are very friendly as well. I'm sure the negative reviews are from people who think their poop doesn't stink.I wouldn't go to any other hospital even if the treatment were free.I want to get well and they make it happen. The doctors are awesome as well. Also, the PT's. & the OT's in the P.A.R.C. on 4K are AWESOME!!!!. What they do to help people is nothing short of a miracle...The care was so good, I felt as if I were the only patient in the hospital...

I have been suffering for years in agonizing pain, then I was referred here and it has been the best experience I have ever had in a hospital! Not only do the nurses care but it is made very evident that the doctors also cared for my well being instead of making me feel like I was just another paycheck in their pocket. I really wish we had a providence hospital where we live, the incredible care could almost make a person move just to know the providers care for their patients.

Brought my sister to the emergency room,as we have done in the past. The emergency room nurse was awesome and the staff and doctors were fine. They finally admitted her for a toe and calf infection. However, they had no room in the diabitic wing for her so they put her on the 4th floor. She has had 8 surgeries,so this isn't her first rodeo. After being there for over 6 hours,we decided to go to cafeteria to get something to eat and call it a night. We got clam chowder, salads, and baked potatoes. The chowder was thick and full of potatoes and clams. It needed spices and tasted weak in favor. The salads were fine, the baked potatoes were over cooked and dry.The cafeteria looked clean,as did the dinning room.My sister called us in the morning to pick her up,she was discharging her selfself..The reason bad care. This isn't the first time this has happened, when she hasn't been in the diabitic wing. When the patent nows more about her blood sugars than the nurses, that's a problem.

This is my most childhood hospital here!! With The Montgomery KONE Vector Traction Elevators which used to be Westinghouse and I know what the fixtures look like!! LOL!! XD They're DEFINITELY from the 60' judging by the Vintage logo. The service elevators got modded with Innovation Universal Fixtures but they got modded again with Otis with Series M2 fixtures!! AWESOME MOD!!!! I was born here BTW back in 2003!! Almost 14!years ago!!

I was not pleased with the level of care I received in the ER. There was very little communication from the nurses as far as what was going on, for instance, I was asked to give a urine sample, and they left it sitting in my room by the sink for two hours. How can you get results from a UA if you never test it? I finally got dressed and left in frustration, to which the staff seemed to regard as no big deal. I will not go there again, I suggest Mt. Hood Medical Center for proper patient care.

My boyfriend and I had been sitting for hours waiting for him to get stitches...we heard more gossip than people walking to help the patients here. Apparently the staff is in the wrong profession. Let alone it being an ER.

Excellent care for my wife through labor, delivery, and postpartum. The nurses and midwives were friendly, knowledgeable, courteous, respectful, and helped make our stay a very positive experience. Good job Providence Midwifery team. Thank you!

So I have had to go to many hospitals in my life and this one is by far the best hospital I have ever stayed at.
Everyone that I have come across and that helped me here has made my recovery as pleasant as it could have been. They have assembled an AMAZING team here. Even though no one wants to have to go to the hospital, if you do then this is the hospital to go to.
The E.R. was quick at taking me in. The technology and knowledge of the staff it on the cutting edge. They have the resources, facilities, and partnerships to be able to help you in a way that is efficient, trustworthy, and honestly at times impressive.
The nurses are empowered to be able to help you more then anywhere else i've been. That empowerment and trust that the hospital has given the nursing staff can be seen in their spirit and in how well you are treated.
I live about 1.5 hours away from this hospital and there are several big hospitals closer, but none are as good as this one.

TLDNR: If you need to go to a hospital for any reason, this is the one I would choose.

Nurse Benett is a heck of a nurse He did a wonderful job attending to my friends suicidal cry for help without judgement, the turned up nose, or making us feel lower than dirt for being there under those circumstances. I reccomend this hospital to all!!

I've just heard about a homeless cancer patient, who has been discharged with instruction to rest for thirty days after having one kidney removed. This person has no place to go, much less to rest all day after his surgery, or shower whenever he wants.

Glad to know that Providence, which used to be sponsored by Sisters of Providence, has the money for naming rights at a Portland sports venue, but cannot give a safe space to an indigent person!

I used to work at a Sisters of Providence hospital in Spokane, and I do not think anything like this would have been allowed there at that time - either putting their name on a sports arena or kicking out an indigent post-surgery patient. Boo!

I had a very positive experience at Providence. I spent two months there and went thru two surgeries. I also had 40 treatments in their hyperbaric chamber to enhance wound healing. I can't say enough about the care I received, from the doctors to the nursing assistants, and from the RNs to the physical therapists and techs. All were professional and helped me stay positive with their upbeat outlooks. I was blessed to be treated there!

The lack of empathy the check-in nurse at the emergency room showed for my girlfriend who was describing her seizure, while slurring her words and coming in and out of consciousness was ASTONISHING. I am absolutely flabbergasted at the unprofessionalism and inability to listen and believe patients. Took her home, will pursue damages if she sustains further injury due to the absolute incompetence from the employees at this hospital. Unbelievable.

I have to say I've never met so many kind, helpful and genuinely compassionate people all in the same facility. From two visits to the ER to being transferred for a short stay this was surprisingly a very nice experience despite the stress of an alarming condition. I can honestly say of ALL the Drs, nurses, staff and many more I only met 2 people who were less than warm and kind. Everyone took the time to listen when there were questions, communicate as best as possible, be as open, honest and transparent as possible. I was very surprised and surpassed every expectation and previous experience at other hospitals. This is farther for me, but I will take the drive to come here because of the genuine standard of excellence that this hospital works to maintain throughout all their departments. I even want to go back to thank everyone that's been involved in the care. I don't enjoy the hospital, but I would definitely recommend coming here if you have to. They have taken an unpleasant situation and worked diligently, kindly and efficiently to get everything repaired and back on track.

I have nothing but nice things to say about everyone who participated in my care. Of course their were a few who were not so nice but why let one or two rotten apples spoil the whole bunch. I felt as if the Dr. who seen me treated me the same as he would have his own family. Thank you for your kindness Dr. If I ever need to come back and be seen in an emergency Providence will be my first choice, and wouldn't hesitate recommending to friends and family.

Horrible! I waited 8 hours to get a pelvic exam and then they couldn't even do what was needed because they weren't experienced enough as doctors (who kept answering their cell phone while treating me!!!) . (Remove an IUD) and then they wanted me to wait another few hours for an ultrasound. I know where the IUD is... It's in my cervix! They were trying to pad the bill. They can obviously take IUDs out. People were having babies upstairs. If they can pull babies out, they can pull IUDs out. There were drs that could do it there. They just wanted to keep testing stuff so they can rip off my insurance company. D: The nurses were sweet though.

Completely horrible service. Employees at front desk have no empathy and are discriminatory. I was denied entry due to my choice in masks, they wanted to hand me a dirty mask that's just sitting out on their desk! All the while people with the same masks walk right by me! They let everyone of them in. A side security guard even commented that he sees people enter and exit with my mask all day today. Absolutely discriminatory.

I'm really disappointed with the patient care at Providence. I went in for a physical and blood work this week. I received an email through the Providence website with all the results. No explanation, no call, just results. Isn't there any one-on-one care here? It's very frustrating! Take care of your patients!!!!

Providence hospitals are possibly the worst place ...

Providence hospitals are possibly the worst place you could go for medical treatment. All they care about is money, and once youre in the door they get paid, so they dont actually care about treating you. They will admit you, then summon their rent a cops to physically force you out of the building at gunpoint while saying "you dont have to leave, if you leave you are refusing care", then bill you for the experience of having your life threatened in something thats supposed to be a place of healing.

Worst treatment by doctor i have ever had. Was treated like a joke and in a hurry. I get that it was a busy night, but thats no reason to treat a patient as though they are a joke. Dr. Tores, you should be ashamed of yourself. I will never come back to this hospital

Superb Care. I came in with a fever and beyond sick, I have never ever been so sick in my life. I came in at a perfect time, no one in the ER, I went back within 20 min. I was so weak I couldn't raise my head or walk. The room made me feel safe, the nurses came in and within 5 min. of seeing me hooked me up to an IV I was dehydrated they ran blood tests, chest Xray, Throat culture, The male Doctor was superb. So kind and caring. I got my juice in me and felt better, and safer. It turned out a virus it lasted 3 weeks, another week of being able to get strength back. Thank you so very much Providence ER you treated me with the utmost respect and care like a hug from your grandmother when your sick. Just what I needed. I will never ever go anywhere else If I have a say in it. YOUR THE BEST!!!!!!

Excellent. My only gripe with them is that they gave me a CT scan that was not technically completely necessary when I went to the emergency room, then charged me personally for the reading of the scan, which my insurance would not pay for.
