Booked a party for my twin brothers 10th birthday here for the first time after the move from Knottingley. Loved the old place. Immaculate. Lovely staff. But at Pontefract at its new place - absolutely disgusting. A staff member - Lisa who we were told was a new supervisor, was extremely rude. She is not in the right job at all. She seemed stressed and on edge all the time due to being surrounded by kids. Service was very slow. (food, drinks, requests..) Party booked at 14:00 but the kids didn't get let in until 14.20. Given a jug of juice for the children whilst they played. There were 15 kids and only got given 5 cups by Lisa. Had to wait 15 minutes for someone to bring more which at this point the kids were all gasping for a drink and sweating. Then were asked to leave early for the party food upstairs. Party food very limited choices. Horrific customer service. Play area very small compared to what it used to be. Rude staff. Will not be coming again and my parents couldn't agree more. The only pleasant staff member was Sarah. She was a pleasant, lovely young lady although she spent a lot of time on her mobile phone. Never again.
Went to the fun house, lovely but I was freezing, kids enjoyed themselves tho
I would imagine this place gets loud. The food left a bit to be desired
My granddaughter enjoyed the play area but we definitely wouldn't eat here again. The food was disgusting and most of it was inedible,They honestly served us the worst chips we have ever had.The food was definitely better quality and cooked better when it was the old football factory at knottingley. We definitely won't be going again I'm afraid.
Firstly if i could give zero stars i would.Never been here before on arrival asked the member of staff on reception details etc of the place he informed us of the play and eat package they offer we went on to ask how we go about booking football pitches etc was ignored.we weng through to the play gym which by most standards i.think rather small ,after being there 5 minutes was suprised at just how cold it was in the play gym. As the kids went to play me and my two friends went to order food ,i went first after given my order n then trying to pay by my bank card the manchine crashed nobodies fault i know and the young girl was very apologetic I witnessed her several times ask a senior member of staff for help who ignored her n was stood at the till too budy texting on her phone after 15minutes stood there the girl finally figured out and i managed to get my order through.my two friends went straight after me with tbete food order cutting to the chase my food took 1hour 20mins to come my next friends 1hour 45minutes and my 3rd friends 2hours on arrival her childs meal consisted of obe chicken nugget chips and beans by this point i my patience had worn tbin j weng to complain to the manager . I was greeted by some cocky rude man who stated tbey were short staffed n busy n jshould understand n basically shut up. After eating food we had waited hours for all of it being quite sub standard clearly fried in mucky fat.we thentried to locate someone to tell us how we went about booking afootball pitch the nan on reception had disapeared n wasnog be found ever member we spoke to told us a different thing finallg we were able to book a pitch 30mins fof 10pound which quite frankly was a joke and i wouldnt of done if but didnt want to let the kids down the whole place is ill run and quite frankly joke has i saud at the start if this review this aas my first time here and will most definately my last wouldnt recomend to anyone unless you want to spend your saturday afternoon highly disapointed
Took our son & his friends for a footballing birthday party. They really enjoyed it. Good set up with friendly staff who were great with the kids. Recommend.
Good for kids parties as long as they like football.
Great place for all ages, kids play area, indoor football, gym, function rooms, very good food and bar area with live sport.
Lovely place for hosting birthday parties for children!
It wasn't the warmest of places. Not enough staff. We ordered food and it was sat on the counter for ages before it was brought out to us.
Just been to A1 football factory with my little boy to have breakfast with santa, absolutely brilliant will definitely be going again next year. Awesome santa and really good breakfast for kids, made my little boys day he loved it. Thanks again
First time visiting to day for my grandaughters birthday loved every miniut ove it great food great staff .carnt wait to come again . Five star all the way x
Nice place to bring the young ones but cold inside so wrap up well
Great value for money. Can be cold but food good service great. We go here loads.
Softplay is good, however not as good as when it was in Knottingley, same use of play gym stuff but in a smaller place.
Food good value for money. Kids had a great time.
It gets very loud, there is a gym facility next to the softplay seperated by a 3/4 wall, so you get the booming of the music from the gym, music from the softplay, and the screams of the kids, all in an old hollowish building!
We actually visited the ultimate shred which is in the same building but had a little nosey at the football factory and it looked fabulous
Great place for kids of all ages to emjoy football.
Good soft play area kids enjoyed it ... bring a coat though it's freezing
We were regular visitors at their previous premises. This was our 1st visit to the new one & we were hughly disappointed. Very cold inside, the play area itself was very dirty, something that previously wasn't an issue. It looks to me that everything was put in storage during the move & then put straight into the new premises without cleaning. Filthy crash mats piled up. And the kiddys toys shouldnt be out to play with the state they are in. Ordered a coffee whilst we were there, the young lady serving was constantly texting on her phone, and again the cleanliness leaves alot to be desired. Filthy bar area, not just spillages, the place needs a deep clean. Will not be recommending to family or friends & definitely won't be returning.
A massive thank you to all the team at A1 football factory. Jasmines 5th birthday party yesterday afternoon was fantastic. Kids enjoyed every minute, literally played till they dropped. The girls on the bar worked so hard making sure we had everything we needed. Very friendly, professional and with over 30 kids to feed, definitely had their work cut out! Thanks again...... would highly recommend this place. 5 stars plus from me .
Everyone Amazing but I think you should have some kind of cooler in the party room and the radio OMG that's the worst thing you could have. Very very poor. But once again the Staff was Amazing 5
I had my sons 8th Birthday party here today and I cannot thank them all enough. He had 45minutes on the football pitch and 45minutes on the soft play. We then had the party room upstairs, it was set up ready for him with his party bags and cake. And some 8th banners I had taken with me..Staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was nice and still very hot for the kids when they got sat down. All in all we was not disappointed and my son had the best day! A special mention for Alex who run the party for us today he was fantastic with all the kids and very helpful with keeping it all organised and on time.! So Massive Thank you to Alex and the A1 team.
Great venue for the kids, who love football. Also nice cafe reasonable pricing. with a large play area
We have visited a few times now and much prefer this to the old place. What a great afternoon out for parents and children to visit in Pontefract. The food was lovely for us grown ups and the kids and really good value. The staff were friendly and the kids loved the play frame. We even decided to book our little 'uns party for December while we were there. We are coming back next week and having Afternoon Tea. We need to support places like this in our area. I will definitely be recommending to my friends.
Hello,
Please can this message be passed to the management.
I just wanted to say a massive thank you to you and your team. From the minute I had questions on messenger up today visiting A1 been very helpful and informative. Jess went the extra mile in helping us today, we came 11. 10.18 and had afternoon tea for our twins 5th birthday. Great value for money my girls there friends though it was fun and different . We will definitely be back and letting everyone one our happy we was.
Thank you again jess (hope you get to see this)
Kelly & family
Been a few different times and my last two visits have been very poor so probably won't go again. Today was ridiculously cold, had to sit with coats and scarves on inside. There were a few options not available with it being the day after boxing day and them not getting a delivery, which i understand. However when I re-ordered, the waitress had to come back again as another option was unavailable. Food was ok when it came although the coleslaw has an unpleasant taste. Kids love it here but there's so many other options to go to where you're not freezing cold.
It's ok. 3star
Used to be bigger and car parking is really bad.
Food is bad, hot drinks are way over priced and it's not the warmest of places
Edit: 4star This place has turned a corner.
Paul Green the man himself is coaching the kids.
The food has got much better with a choice of nutritious meals.
The staff have always been very nice and polite. They also know what they're doing especially on the coaching side.
Keep up the good work.
Highly disappointed, I've not been to this one before and can definetly say I will not be returning again the place is VERY Cold and this is not a joke, everyone was sat with there coats on including me and my family, the kids even played in the soft play area with there coats on too! Even the staff had to wear there coats We spent a lot of money and what a waste that was, the music was very loud and and banging when we came in and there was two different sound systems on, one for the football pitch side to which it would clash with the one on in the soft area so I couldnt hear a word my partner was saying to me and of course my autistic child didn't appreciate the noise level either and so after there meals were eaten we left, they need to put carpets in the place a get the heating on and give it a good scrub and not have kids running the place banging the tunes on, it's like a night club lol
Mediocre......severely understaffed which mad for a poor experience. Extremely slow service and dirty uncleared tables.
We held my sons 4th birthday party here and he had a great time. Spent over an hour playing in the soft play area and then went for some food. There are plenty of options to choose from including the football and gym areas and the whole facility was very clean and tidy
Fetched 10 kids an infant +6 adults all had a lovley time , food wo great went down a treat with both the kids & adults , staff very friendly & polite will deffo be returning
A great local facility run by local people,
As a family we have just visited for the breakfast with Santa and it was top class, all the way from the food to Santa being the best one I ve ever seen.
Keep up the hard work guys you are doing a cracking job.
Our family have visited the fun house at A1 football factory today for the breakfast with Santa event. It was absolutely brilliant.
Very reasonably priced for what we received.
All the children had private access to the play area, a hot breakfast including sausage, beans, hash browns and toast, a visit to Santa (including a printed photo!) and a gift. Football factory were not at all greedy with the numbers as there was a nice number of people there, no pushing or shoving and all the children had plenty of room to eat their breakfast.
Best Santa I ve ever visited - he was so lovely to my children and spent time chatting to them. It really has made our Christmas - thanks Football Factory!!!
Was better in the old location, feels less comfortable and more enclosed at new location.
Really good facilities and coaching for my little lad. The extra sessions here and definitely helping his all round game.
Absolutely amazing place, my 3 year old loves going to football here it's great fun and good exercise. All staff are helpful and friendly.
They also do food here but I'm yet to try
Lovely but the go carts not working and a bit cold.
Good afternoon playing on the kids area with my little ones and they enjoyed their meal as well.
Only went for the soft play area, reasonably priced and not too busy. All the staff I interacted with were both helpful and friendly. Saw others having food, looked good. Give it a go, I'm sure my lad will be asking to go back again, and having his dinner there too.
Very dirty place.
The soft play area for babys and toddlers are good size and design but the plastic covers for the mats and bridges are so old and ripped in a lot of places.
Too dirty to enjoy the place.
The food for kids is ok but grownup meals are disgusting.
The food was awful and we'd seen that ours sat on the pass for 15mins, when we mentioned it we were told it had only been there 2mins and should be fine. The toilets were very dirty and the soft play was OK but a little tired, especially the baby area. Service was very slow.
