Such a good Zoo to come to, smells fine not too bad knowing that your around animals. Great entrance as well, the only downside is the size of the entire park. It's a bit small but they are in renovation so maybe in the future we can expect a lot more!

For a smaller zoo they have a good variety and all of the animals look happy and healthy. We enjoyed our visit and who would have thought popsicles at a zoo gift shop would be less than $.50 each?!?

Indiana's oldest zoo seems to get nicer with each visit. Recent renovations are starting to take shape and are truly making the zoo more beautiful. There is a new 21+ drinking booth for the parents and seems to add new animals on a regular basis. Throughout the year the zoo offers many after-hour events. It's clear to see that there is an effort made to enhance the overall customer experience.

We loved the small zoo. It doesn't take 6 hours like some big zoos and its fun for the whole family. BRING QUARTERS (or it's a hassle to go get it from the booths) this is for farm animal pellets and the penny print machine in the Learning Center by the entrance. In support of the zoo and (non DD) parents ;) there are huts that sell alcoholic beverages, its about $8 a cup. Across the parking lot is a huge playground and picnic area. Just in case the kids (and you) have some energy left.
The only reasons as to why I gave it 4 stars was because some of the animals were not out due to weather, changing enclosures, sick etc. Also, during our visit (not sure if this is their norm) we couldnt go IN the farm animal enclosures and interact with them, but you can feed and pet them from the fence. Once you leave the farm animals, there is a nice hand washing station (not just a sanitizer stand).
I am excited for the construction to finish and for the Rhinos to arrive! This summer will be a great time to visit.

It was kinda chilly, mostly windy. Thought most of animals wouldn't be out, or atleast for long.
Ended up being great, sunny enough to enjoy, my kiddos loved it. (Until the very end when the coursal only accepted & quit selling them 30 minutes til closing. It was already 4:40.) My 6 year old daughter & 12 year old son were in for a big surprise when they heard the lion's roar!!!
It was fun seeing them race around the corners together. I even had a chance to video it, for a bit of time!!
My girlfriend & I definitely will be returning quite soon!

Only reason I'm giving 3 stars is because of the lack of response by customer service. We asked about reciprocal benefits a soon as we arrived, because online said we had to buy online. Couldn't reach anyone by phone. At the gate at the zoo they said we had to call in to get the reciprocal benefits from the zoo program.. sounds like they just don't want to honor it. Lack of response. The zoo itself is smaller, but well maintained. There are some really neat animals here! A great park right outside the gates. Free parking.

Update: To owner response. I'm sorry, but I don't think we'll return. We had our card present at the gate when we arrived. So we had everything we needed to indicate our membership. She told us no. We had to call, and you couldn't get through to anyone? Your customer service office was completely closed in the learning building. So as much as I would love to support your zoo, your customer response makes it more difficult.

Undergoing major construction. It is still open. Some exhibits are closed. We enjoyed a beautiful day & had lunch at the cafe, & I thought lunch prices were very good. My grand daughter rode train once & carousel 2 times. Adults ride free if you stand beside child. She rode free as well, under age 2 rides free. Plenty of bathrooms, walking paths are nice. I can do w/o the buffalo. Overall, enjoyable zoo.

Great for a smaller zoo I live by Brookfield and Lincoln Park zoo so I'm a little bit biased but was fun, clean, and had a decent amount of animals represented if your are driving by well worth the stop

The zoo was great! The animals were lively, but it all seemed a little small with all the Covid restrictions. There weren't too many people in the zoo and some of the enclosures were empty. It is a small zoo anyways, but restricting the number of people in the zoo and limiting animal engagement made it seem even smaller.

The staff was quite friendly and the zoo was well maintained. (Considering the size this isn't a difficult task.) Also, many of the animals were nowhere to be found. (Which actually made me happy because the enclosures that these animals spend a lifetime in are completely inadequate in terms of size.)

I took my three year old daughter this time and she absolutely loved it. Then after wer wete done seeing all the animals we took her to the free splash pad that is located right outside the zoo. And right before we left the ice cream truck showed up wich ws nice since it was a hit beautiful day. Putting her to bed that night was actually easy since she was pooped after a full day of activities

This is one of the best zoos I have been to! Very friendly staff, very clean park. Very healthy animals. It is small, but we still took 2.5 hours to get through it all. Each animal we could see, and walking through the Auzzy area was incredible! I suggest you bring lots of quarters so your kids can feed all the animals!
