Have been here frequently lately and OMG! If you want proper authentic Italian food this is it! We have been to all the Italian restaurants from freo to Hillarys and this is the place to be.homemade pasta(which I never normally buy out) to the woodfire pizza.Never been disappointed

Just had dinner at Portorosa in Fremantle. Seafood risotto was good but dessert was a total flop. Ordered a moka dessert that was meant to have a light sponge and almond praline according to the menu description. Cost on the menu was $11. What I got was a scoop of chocolate mousse and chocolate powder on top and they charged me $12 for that. What a joke! I should have stopped at the main meal. The service was slow but rushed and took very long for us to be served.
I don't think I will return to this place.
Saturday night for dinner. Had the wild boar on the waiters recommendation along with a few reds. Excellent choice by the waiter loved it. Others in the group enjoyed their meals just as much. Highly recommend.
Probably over priced but service and food were impeccable. Got the area food platter for 2 and was pleasantly surprised. Fresh, great tasting food. Main complaint is oysters had to be ordered separately

The hand made pasta is incredible
popped in a few weeks ago, and found the experience all rather average. for the starter ordered the octopus and sardines, which was completely swimming in the vinaigrette and overpowered the whole dish. Pizza was good for the main, nothing spectacular mind you. Service I could not fault what so ever.
I always love Portarosa, its the attention in the service and the food. I do tend to go more in winter but recently had the red emperor with a shaved fennel and orange salad. Perfect together on a warm balmy evening.

Highly recommend this restaurant. They have the best chilli mussels I have ever tasted and all of the pasta is fresh and delicious. Service is always friendly and quick and they're always very accommodating with changes and substitutes unlike some places I have been to. The drinks are great and I recommend the aperol spritz which is such good value for money. This is a great place and I love coming before or after a movie, they serve great Italian cuisine with a smile. I've been to Fremantle so many times and Portorosa doesn't ever disappoint.
The customer service was excellent throughout the night. Very warm, quirky and welcoming personalities. Despite being a busy Saturday eve (and a walk-in for 2) we were reassured and seated swiftly.

Me, my partner and 4 month old baby girl went for dinner here on a busy Saturday evening. We didn t have a reservation and it was fully booked but the nice staff created a table space for us! We were so happy they were willing to accomodate us especially with a small baby.
The food was so so tasty. We got a simple (but delicious) Margherita pizza and a casarecce alla arrabiatta to mix n match.
The service and food were truly awesome so we left a big tip!
