The Portorosa has terrific tasting food, with good portion sizing and I would give this restaurant a 5 star review, if it was just for the food alone.
When dining in a restaurant and ordering entrees, I don't expect them to arrive after 2 of the main meals arriving and further to that I'm also not keen on the 5 remaining meals arriving 9 - 10 minutes after the 1st two meals.
I ordered drinks at the time of ordering the meal and they arrived in a timely manner, though I would of liked another round of drinks, unfortunately I wasn't able to attract the attention of the Staff and no Staff returned to see if our table would like more drinks (the empty glasses would have been a give away, for most restaurant Staff) - so the service would be 3/5 in my view.
I will definitely return for another meal, as the food is great, I will just hope that the meal experience has improved by next time.

We had seen the good reviews so we gave it a go,the staff were nice but the food was not very nice.
My meat lovers pizza was very soggy and undercooked, spaghetti seafood dish was not flash and the garlic bread was very oily and average tasting as well,my wifes veal dish had nice veal but very average veggies and mash.
It was my wifes birthday so it was very disappointing,we wont be back.
Cant believe people rave about this place, you should go over the road to pizza bella roma, food is a lot nicer, been going there for over 10 years, awesome place.

3.5 stars. We've actually come here more than once, because it's open a bit later than the other restaurants in the area, has a big menu, service is decent, the food is fine. A bit on the expensive side for pasta, but all the other Italian places in the area are the same price anyway. This time around I was a bit dissapointed though. Our entrees were delicious (arancini balls and sardine/octopus plate), my pasta (crab linguine) was fine albeit nothing special, although my partner ordered the Filetto Pepe rib-eye with green peppercorn and brandy sauce for $39.50, which was a let-down for the price. I've posted photos of each meal and the final receipt, so you can judge for yourself rather than trusting me. The steak meal came with mashed potato and unseasoned plain steamed vegetables, pretty much what you make for yourself in the microwave from those single-serve vegetable pouches. Not what you expect from the most expensive dish listed on an Italian restaurant's menu. I also ordered a cocktail drink (Portorosa Sunset for $15) which was a really tiny mini glass of what I think was juice with some sparkling wine, not worth the price.

Horrible service - waited 10mins just to get some water to our table, 20mins for the drinks we ordered, not to mention waiting 45mins between our entree and main meals.
Everyone around us had dramas; wrong meals, stuff up s in the kitchens, people waiting up to 15mins just to order drinks when they first arrive. No stuff organisation - we were served by 4 different stuff members.
Food was reasonable but the very poor service outweighed it.

My favourite Italian in Fremantle. Pizza is always perfect & muscle in white wine is what dreams are made of. I have tried most items on the menu. Meal sizes are on the large end, so bring your appetite.

Great food in a lovely location! Very good range, quality. Service needed a bit of more work, but I guess it depends who is serving you. The other waitresses seemed very friendly and helpful! Love to hear some Italian in the air

The food was impeccable and beautiful. Mrs has pork belly salad with scallops with relish, apple almonds, and fennel which was delightful on the tastebuds. Everything married together perfectly.
I had the portorosso barramundi cooked in champagne.
Expresso martinis were perfect and everything id expect.
Pricey but the food is definitely worth every cent.

Craving for going out for since the lockdown, the service was slow as the waiter was only a few meters from us, yet we have to wave to get attention for service. Out come the garlic bread but no taste of garlic , dinner was ok.

We had a delightful lunch. My husband had grilled octopus ( a special). It was tender and delicious. I had eggplant parmigiana and it was also outstanding. We sat outside in a relaxed atmosphere.

I've been sitting in Fremantle and wanted to try something different. I had a craving for pasta and seafood and something on the menu stood out. I wasn't sure what to order and checked with the staff and they immediately recommended the pasta dish and I was left with taste buds swimming in paradise. The stuffed mushrooms were absolutely delicious as well. Staff were amazing and friendly. Definitely worth visiting and exploring the magic of their food.

Shocking service! I dined there tonight with my 2 children. We had to ask again for drinks. Again as to where our entree (which was garlic bread and olives) was. Finally we had to again chase up our mains. No apologie as we watched diners come and go around us.

Lovely Italian restaurant with an authentic look and feel situated in bustling part of Fremantle but off the main road so you avoid some of the noise and crowd. Greay tasting food and good proportions.

Amazing pasta and pizza!! It was all so delicious I ended up cleaning the sauce off the pasta plate. Pizza was freshly made as soon as we ordered and served to is straight from pizza oven. Food came out in no time and staff were both very friendly and lovely. Also the bathrooms were really clean. Location is pretty central only 5 to 10 mins walk from station.

This restaurant is absolutely fantastic. The gnocchi was delicious, the service was incredible, but the best part was the dessert dumplings. There plate was full of the golden dumplings, and the warm maple syrup and Nutella just went perfectly with it. It was amazing quality and quantity for $8. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone and everyone.

Disappointed with long wait for our orders to be taken after the waiter told us he was going to come back in 2 minutes and served patrons that came in after us and when we called him again after 20 minutes he was rude and shouted at us that we are not the only patrons needed to be served. We arrived at 7pm only to be served at 8:30pm whilst patrons who had come after us were already finished their dinners. Besides the poor service the food was ok. Not the best Italian Restuarant in Perth.
