Our daughters have been attending PJA since last year and they are super happy there! Having moved from out of town and not knowing too many people, we really wanted to be part of a community and we found it! Our daughters are getting an amazing education, meeting wonderful people and thriving as active learners. We feel very blessed to have found this special school and look forward to attending for many years to come.

We have two children who have attended PJA for many years and our experience with the school has always been incredibly positive. For our family, the benefits of a PJA education boil down to three things: an emphasis on critical thinking skills, values/ethics and a love for learning. I'm so thankful for the education that our children have received at PJA because it has helped to mold them into highly engaged young adults with a moral compass. Thank you PJA!!

PJA has a bullying problem that the staff is not equipped to deal with. My daughter attended for three years and was eventually forced to leave to an unchecked bullying situation.

I would never trust my daughter with them again.

Best Jewish and secular education available in Portland. We love the values based education. It's so edifying that the values we hold so dear and try to pass on to our children at home are reinforced and put into action at school everyday. The school is surprisingly diverse and does a great job of embracing all backgrounds. They also do an amazing job of engaging the gifted and talented students supporting them to greater heights while supporting all students to their greatest potential.

Our oldest son started at PJA in Pre-K. He then attended our neighborhood school for several years before we headed back to PJA. We've experienced both sides of the educational coin. PJA walks the walk when they talk about the STEAM approach to learning, learning differentiation in class, incredibly supportive/involved staff, student/teacher ratio and overall positive school community. Our youngest is now in 1st grade and following in his brother's footsteps. They're excelling both academically and socially because PJA teachers and staff know our kids almost as well as we do.

This is the perfect school for my family and I can't say enough good things about it. My children are very different from one another, and PJA is a perfect match for each of them. The teaching staff and administration are incredibly dedicated; the academics are superb; and the environment is warm, friendly and very nurturing. I am also so pleased with the focus on character at PJA. Overall, the students at PJA are curious, engaged, and they are learning how to care for one another and the world around them. I will be very sad when we leave at the end of eighth grade but I know that my kids will be well prepared for high school.

Jewish day schools are the key to preserving Jewish identity and Portland Jewish Academy (PJA) is one of the best. I write this as a Jew who is very active in our community, so I m familiar with the spectrum of cultural programs and other Jewish educational opportunities. PJA offers the perfect mix of top-flight academics, spiritual and ethical exploration, as well as a foundation on the myriad facets of what it is to be Jewish. PJA has excellent, committed teachers and the school is adjacent to the MJCC with all its facilities so many great synergies! Hard not to walk down the halls of the school and feel the love of learning radiating outward.
