I bought season tickets and am unable to attend one show I picked due to a conflict. I called and was immediately offered an alternate date. No wonder I continue to be a patron of this theater. They are literally incredible. Snd the shows never disappoint.

I took my 93 year old mom to see Dream Girls this weekend. Great seats, wonderful performance. I was especially impressed with the great customer service given to assist my mom with her walker to her seat. I have attended several shows at the Armory and I have never been disappointed.

Visited this theatre for the first time last weekend for a date with my girlfriend, watching Sense and Sensibility. It was great to see a lot of folks dressed up in dresses and suits for the show other than myself and my gf. All the ushers and box office folk were very kind and funny. We arrived 30 minutes early to the performance, and even then the bar had a massive line, so keep that in mind! I would be very pleased to patron this theatre again!

We saw The Color Purple. It was one of the best plays!!!!!!!!!! From the stage to the orchestra, to the cast to the costumes. Truly the best acting/voices ever. These actors/actresses are so very talented. Tears, frog in the throat and heart racing talent! Would see it 100 times over. Loved Squeak and Mister! Celie....no words to describe her talent!

I went to go see Curious Incident Of The Dog In The Nighttime. This is my favorite play of all-time. I have never been so disappointed in a production. The main actor was wonderful & a few on the ensemble were superb as well. If you're going to do a play based in the U.K., make sure you cast actors that CAN DO the accent. It's insulting to have paid the amount of money I paid to come see the show only to listen to professional actors stumble through bad accents. It took me right out of the show. Half my family lives in England & I would have been embarrassed to take them to this show. Again, main actor & a few ensemble members- absolutely superb. The rest need the attention of the director.

Beautiful rehab of the old armory building. The LEED Platinum building built by Gerding Edlen is home to Portland Center Stage. The lobby is likely my favorite event space in all of PORTLAND. I believe it is open most days as their box office is inside and last time I was there they even had a coffee cart inside.

A very cool space! From the lobby to the bathrooms to the theater... Nicely done. The place has a lot of history, obviously, and I believe they offer tours there the 3rd Saturday of each month. I will definitely be hitting that up. I saw Lady Day at Emerson's Bar and Grill there recently and was so glad I did. Very well done.

A great, very comfortable setting for stand up by local talent. While many such acts take place we were fortunate enough to witness one person's version of the Cherokee Trail of Tears. Great historically and a personal rendition that tugs at the heartstrings.

My wife and I went here to see "Fun Home". It's a very cool space. I liked the layout. I just wish their bar offered real food. Not just two pre-made sandwiches. The children in the production were excellent and outshined the adult leads.

We had a few different venues at the top our list for our wedding, but as soon as we toured The Armory we knew we didn t need to look any further! The space itself is stunning - the perfect mix of vintage and modern industrial - and then on top of that we had a great experience working the venue coordinator, Elizabeth. She was very organized, responsive, and always helpful. Between Elizabeth s professionalism and the gorgeous setting of the Armory we had the exact wedding that we wanted!

I've taken advantage of an employer discount to shows at the Portland Center Stage several times. Every time it's a nice experience. The lobby is large and the facilities are well maintained. Every show I have attended has been fun, and they keep me coming back for more. Even though I'm in Salem, I make the hour-long trek to Portland every couple months to catch performances that pique my interest. It's worth making the trip.

We saw Astoria Part One there and luckily, there is not really one bad seat in the main auditorium. The staff was very accommodating to my husband who needed a handicap seat, and we were so grateful.

I love the plays at PCS. Never went to a bad production. The theater itself has no bad seats in the main auditorium. Downstairs in the Ellen Bye Studio, each show has a different seating conformation. There is special needs seating and an elevator. Many parking lots are nearby and it is possible to find on street parking. The Old Armory has been transformed into a Platinum Level ecological building which is amazing and beautiful to see.
There is a small food service that provides small bites , beer and wine, coffee, etc. Nationally recognized, a place to take your out of town guests. New York, be jealous!

Mom and I had a great time here, spent way too much money on drinks. The place has a nice energy to get a drink before the show, and all the seats seem to have a good view. Can't wait for the next show.

It's worth just walking into this building to see this former armory turned theater. Wow! Lots of fancy spiral staircases and exposed brick and it's a LEED certified building too! Also, this is one of the theater companies in town. Recent productions of Oklahoma and One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest have gotten have reviews. Also, keep an eye out for their frequent 2 for 1 ticket deals.

They put on an impressive and varied season of shows, from classics to avant garde work. They make me laugh, they make me cry. The set designs are fantastic. The Armory is a beautiful space and it is LEED certified. Some people show up in formal dress, others in jeans and everyone seems to feel welcome. It's kind of like off-broadway, but also so very Portland. They have a convenient Flexpass option for those who want season tickets without being locked in to specific times, or having to see every show. Also, no show seats are released for $20 on the night of the show!
