Salem Art Association: Promoting Art and Culture in Oregon
The Salem Art Association is a non-profit organization that has been promoting art and culture in Oregon since 1919. The association operates the Bush Barn Art Center and Annex, a Community Arts Education program, the Salem Art Fair & Festival, and the Bush House Museum. Bush Barn Art Center
The Bush Barn Art Center is located in downtown Salem and serves as the main gallery for the Salem Art Association. These classes are taught by professional artists who have experience teaching their craft to students at all levels – from beginners to advanced learners.
Salem Art Fair & Festival
The Salem Art Fair & Festival is one of Oregon's largest outdoor festivals featuring over 200 artists from around North America showcasing their work across multiple mediums including ceramics/pottery; glassblowing/sculpture-making; jewelry making/metalsmithing among others.
In addition to visual arts displays/sales booths there are also live music performances by local musicians/bands throughout each day's festivities which run Friday through Sunday annually during July month every year!
Bush House Museum
The Bush House Museum is located on Mission Street SE near downtown Salem. This historic home was built in 1878 by Asahel Bush II who was a prominent businessman/politician during his time period serving as editor/publisher for Statesman Journal newspaper (now known simply as "Statesman").
Today visitors can tour this beautiful Victorian-style mansion which has been restored with period furnishings/artifacts reflecting life during late-19th century era when it was built/occupied by Asahel family members themselves! Visitors can learn about early pioneer life/history while enjoying stunning views overlooking Willamette River valley below!
