I love Port City. Great beer. Great location. Excellent covid accomodations. I recommended making a reservation for outdoor seating beforehand. They have heaters on their patio and prompt service.

Really enjoy the atmosphere and the quality of the all beers they have on tap. I've never had a bad experience. If you're looking for a chill place to enjoy a beer with some friends, this is your spot.

I have to say, this place was a happy and fun find for myself and my husband. We came here on a Friday evening on a date night for the tour and loved the vibe from the second we walked in. The servers were so welcoming and passionate about their job which just added to the atmosphere of the place. The tour was informative and fun with plentiful pours four the tastings included in the price. Added bonus, a food truck right outside of you're hungry. Overall the perfect local date night or to come with great friends.

I love this place! Great beer, good space to hang out at, and they have a food truck available every time I've been. They seem to have events happening all the time so I hope to come by again for one of those. Plenty of room for big groups!

AMAZING. I wish I could give this brewery more than 5 stars. The service is better than any other brewery in Northern Virginia & DC. Shout-out to Stephen, Sean and Tim for going above and beyond in making sure my experience was stellar. They were super attentive, kind and knowledgeable.

The beer is too good. I would be surprised to find a grocery store, restaurant in DC or Northern Virginia, that didn't have the Optimal Wit. I personally love their IPAs but the classic Optimal Wit is a Belgian Witbier style beer which is extremely popular because its crisp and very flavorful. Not only is the beer delicious but Port City hosts events like chocolate/beer paring, yoga in the beer garden and not to mention lots of fundraisers to support the local community. The beer garden is open on the weekends and then for events on the weekdays which makes the experience all the more special. The brewery itself is very easy to get to and there is plenty of parking available.

I've been there on a first date and on other occasions with friends and each time has been super fun because of the atmosphere, great staff and amazing beer. I highly recommend Port City Brewing Company!!

We went to Port City a few years ago (right after they opened) and it wasn't much to speak of. We finally mede it back there again today (for a friend's birthday party) and man were we impressed. They have great beer and a great place to hang out with friends. Highly recommended!

Pro tip: Start with the flight. For $10 it's not only a great deal, but it allows you to sample 6 different flavors. Also, make sure to bring a designated driver as most of their beers are quite strong and they hit hard.

So I love this place. The taproom is always clean and very friendly. The brewery is an interesting to tour, and the location is hidden but easy to get to from Duke Street. The atmosphere is relaxed and if you understand that they only serve beer and water, and that food comes from a (rotating) food truck, you will get along fine.

If you checkout their website you can see lots of upcoming events from beer yoga to food tastings around the world. They also have lots of promos for other events outside their brewery connecting to the greater DC area. I've seen parties of all sorts, comedy, theater and art, and just regular Joe's stop in for a pint.

The staff is the best and they look out for you to ensure everyone has a great experience. It is not unusual to bump into the owners and the brewers at all hours just enjoying the scene themselves.

Great beer, friendly people and fun atmosphere. They offer several fun activities like yoga, running and cycling to participate in. Food truck is usually on site and you can bring your own growler to fill.

They serve 6 or 7 types of beer. There's no food. Place is pleasant and usually crowded even though the beer is expensive. Since it is right at the brewery where it is made, it should cost less than 1000 miles away in a different state, right? Well, it doesn't. There's quite a lot of free parking spots on the street. There are also yoga classes offered here. Yep, you read it right.

A favorite story of mine to tell is that back in 2011 I was hosting a BBQ and when somebody passed me a beer I had to stop what I was doing, a literal double take to peer closer at the label and figure out what I was drinking because it was that good. Thing is, that's a true story of my discovering Port City's Optimal Wit. Thankfully, their Essential Pale Ale, Oktoberfest, Colossal Anniversary Series, and so many more are just at the peak of the regional craft beer scene. They deserve every accolade they've gotten over the years, and then some. Hopefully they keep adding more seating space and some (light) amenities, but even though it's a tougher spot to get in/out of for happy hour, it's totally worth it!

How can you not stop in for any of their reoccurring events. Monday 1, 3, or 5 mile run at 7 that starts and ends at the tasting room, Beeryoga Dec 17th, preregistration and $20 fee required or pedals and pints, 1st and 3rd Saturdays.

Local brewery in Alexandria. I have been ordering curbside pick-up since it was first available in approximately March. Great service and would not complain if this was available permanently.

Came here for a visit on a Monday with spouse and sister. We arrived at 3pm right as the outdoor patio opened up. It was empty when we arrived which was my preference. Ordering was contactless via QR code at table. Menu had some snacks but we only ordered beverages. I am a fan and loyal patron to this brewery so I usually like to try their seasonals and limited releases. There was an oktoberfest and a weizenbock ale, the Colossal 9, an anniversary special. Service was very prompt and polite. Would recommend and will be back.

The patio was a delight but I'll be sticking to pick-up until this crisis is better under control.

My husband really liked their beer, I really liked the fact that they also had good sodas for those who aren't drinking.
We don't usually eat at restaurants these days, but their patio was very comfortable. I felt like they had put a lot of thought and effort into keeping the place safe from covid.

Excellent craft beer and good vibes! Port City Brewing Company is an awesome local brewery serving the good folks of Alexandria and Springfield. Now that the weather is nice, come enjoy the outdoor seating and be socially distanced.

I went here a couple months ago for a tasting with my company. The tour was comprehensive and very educational. It would have been nice to be able to talk with brewmaster, but the owner knows his stuff. He was also very friendly. We tasted some premature porter, which actually tasted drinkable, but the owner explained what was missing in it (not that I can remember any more). We tasted their beers (except the unavailable porter) both before and after the tour; they were great! The Optimal Wit is especially memorable. I will certainly return for future tastings and growler refills. (Unless I'm mistaken, I believe you can now fill a growler of Port City beer at the Whole Foods on Duke Street.)

Nice place, pretty big operation going on. The taproom has multiple bars which helps to keep the beer flowing even when its crowded, and they have a little mini arcade around the corner from the taproom.

Very friendly and knowledgeable staff, and very good selection of beer. Their IPAs are much more well balanced than the west coast breweries - I'd even recommend the double IPA. If it's your first time (like it was for me), try the sampler first. Good deal, and best way to try the broad selection.

Good beer, poorly staffed. Also if you go in the summer, prepare to sweat buckets because they ether don't have AC or it doesn't work. I felt bad for the people working the bar because they were all dripping sweat.

Great little tasting room with a tour. Port City makes great beers, and their 6 beer tasting flight is a great deal and way to try their beers. This is an award winning microbrew, and the neat tasting room offers flights, pints and growler refills. Cool spot, check it out.

I went there with my friend, who loves craft beer. He was a happy camper. He left with a growler fill and also the barkeep educated us on growler hygiene.

I purchased the tickets a month ago and they had a acid leak. When I called to reschedule they where more than accommodating.

We will be back.

Neat place. Went for a tour on a Friday night and it was probably the best brewery tour with the most animated brewer I've been on. It set the bar for me. We tried a flight of beer after, and by the time we headed out the place was crowded. It's a good scene!

Held a private party at this venue and it was fantastic! The environment was perfect. Parking was insanely easy (and free!), and drinks were so well priced. Plus, the Optimal Whit Pale Ale was SO GOOD. I'll be returning for that for sure!! Heard great things about the owner from a friend, and I can't wait to return! #skimmers!

This place deserves a better review from me. I went during a special event and got caught up in the anniversary hype, the place was packed with great drinks, lots of ladies and gentlemen and good music. Small children were present as well so the place is obviously child friendly. I will surely revisit top get a clear representation of the service and food, but until then, this place is ace.

My wife and I went here on a Saturday afternoon. The doors were open so it was slightly cool. There was a pretty mixed crowd which made for an overall pleasant atmosphere. The beer was excellent and the workers were very informative. There was a tour every couple of hours that we didn't go on but might try next time.

This place is a diamond in the rough. No other way to describe it. Tucked back in an industrial park on the western end of Alexandria, Port City Brewery is a welcoming neighborhood brewery / watering hole. Staff always goes out of their way to serve. The brewer led tours are a must. Not to mention that their beer is second to none. Always an amazing selection and very reasonably priced.

What a wonderful day. Today I came here with a friend to have a few samples of beer. The beer and the tour were perfect. I loved the staff, they were excellent. I enjoyed the Pilsner and Porter beers. There is a wide selection of beer to choose from. Make sure to get the six beers for $10, it is worth it. The Monumental beer was my favorite. There are beers for every beer lover to try. The tour was great, the guide has a lot of energy and you get a free sample of beer on the tour. The environment is warm and friendly. This is a place you want to come to and enjoy. I highly recommend to come here for any occasion.

It's my birthday! Surprise by my wife and daughter...

It's my birthday! Surprise by my wife and daughter, we went to Port City for my bday.

First off, highly recommend the tour. Our tour guide, I'm gonna call him Andrew cause maybe that's what I heard, but he's a history teacher and great at brew tours. His friend, Lisa?, I think was a brewer, but they were high school friends. And idk, loved it. For me, the PC logo was awful, and then I learned the history. Now it's great! Why? Every 6:30 on Thursday and Friday, you too can find out.

Second, the bar staff. Holy wow they smile a lot. Maybe it was my birthday pin, maybe it was an induced substance, or maybe it's a great place to work at. Either way, seemed genuine and sold me. Plus, Jared, he's awesome. Why? Because he is. There was a woman working back there who also was epically happy, made my night. Never looked at her badge because she was so happy to get my beers, I'd totally name her otherwise.

Third, I have a daughter! Hate kids? You're dead inside. And that's ok. Didn't see one piss in a drink, nor pickpocket anyone. So, you know, lower your standards. Have a better life. Aside from that, #kidsrock #sometimesparentssuck #kidfriendly. #gohere. It's a great place.

Fourth/last but not least, the beer. Loved. Every. Beer. I homebrew. Why do I say that? Because art takes appreciation, and every beer there is is above average, if not amazing. Try the Derecho! Why? It's my favorite beer. Need another reason? Go to Vola's for dinner and ask Brendan. Cause the food is great and he's pretty much why we came here.

Port City is a very rare brewery with no real misses. Their whole flagship lineup is very good, especially the Optimal Wit. Large tasting room with fast, friendly service even when they're packed. Can be crowded on weekends, but their upstairs, brewery floor, and back room offer spillover space. Great food trucks on weekends.

Been there a few times with small kids. Always sit out in the warehouse on the long picnic style tables since the high tops in the tap room aren t great for kids of course. I m cool with that because I like looking at big stainless steel cylinders. I d like to swim in them, but that s for another day....

A good bit of bike parking outside- car parking looks plentiful too, but that s a lame way to arrive so I don t do that. Food trucks handle edibles at least four days a week, and it s always excellent.

Do the tour! Tours are $10 and you get 12 drink tickets (normally drink tix are $2 each). Afterward, stay in the tasting room for more beer tasting, and go outside to one of the curbside food trucks for some food to accompany your beer.
