PopEi Review

Unfortunately contracted food poisoning from my broiler combo platter last night. Made for a very unpleasant night going to vomit every 45 mins.

Ate in the resturant and at the bar. The bars the place for me, friendly service, nice menu, reasonably price and food served to order... oh yeah friendly crowd

This place is DISGUSTING!!!! It was 82 degrees in there, the food was NASTY!!! They couldn t even get a chicken panini sandwich right. It looked like a 3 year old made it. The onion rings were so burnt you could not even eat them unless you wanted to lose your teeth.

Great portions and food. Helpful staff. Looks terrible. Good for close family that only cares about eating much seafood at a reasonable price.

We love this place as a family of 5! Celebrated my sons Birthday here! My 3 kids can easily order favorites off the menu while my Husband and I indulge in our own! Great service, clean, and plenty of food! They have a bar area separate from family dining area with entertainment! Comfortable and reasonably priced!!

We went there Saturday after waiting forever at another place. What a breathe of fresh air. Everyone was pleasant, food was good, fast service even during this pandemic they were organized and ready. Will go back

Took my wife for her Birthday Dinner Wed 12/4/2019. As a seafood restaurant I had high hopes that my wife would have a superb Birthday meal...well that was not the case..she said that she had never had a tough lobster...till then. The $$$$ we spent which was quite high for the amount of food and drink we had, was far from worth what we received. It feels as if you are not a Regular..then your just another bill. Regulars get much better treatment...which we witnessed on many occasions while sitting waiting to get another over priced drink. Unfortunately we will never become regulars and will steer our friends and coworkers away from Popei's.

My husband and I have been eating here for many years and have always raved about the food...we usually go on date nights by ourselves. We haven t been to the Coram location in a while as we moved farther away last year. We went today with our children. First off I ve noticed something that s always bothered me, as to how one of the ladies, idk if she s a hostess or owner, always goes to the some of the tables and asks them how food is, if everything is okay, but she has never in all these years asked my husband or I how our meal is.... Our dinner was meh...my drink didn t come as it was supposed to. My husbands dinner of stuffed shrimp had bland rubbery shrimp, no cheese as it usually had and the side veggies had no flavor....My linguini side had extremely burnt garlic that overpowered them and my sons shrimp tortellini was cold in middle with ice cold peas and rubbery shrimp....they heated it up and it still didn t taste right. The waitress brought our check and I mentioned my sons food. She told the lady who never greets us She come over and apologized and deducted my sons meal. We love to eat out and don t mind paying for good food but today s dinner tasted bland like a microwaved frozen dinner

Awesome seafood spot. Fresh and delicious. Clean restaurant and excellent wait staff. Everything was cleared from our table immediately once finished which I personally appreciate. I m sorry I don t remember my servers name but she was superb and I d ask for her again if I could. Kid friendly and overall a great experience. We don t get out often with our daughter so this was definitely a real treat to enjoy a delicious meal.

A friend told me about this place and my wife and I went. We loved it, excellent food both times we went, we will be returning weekly. A great place for seafood and steaks. Thank you good job guys

The taste and quality of the food is good. Staff and owner are real nice.

The food was great. Although the service is somewhat lacking. My order was wrong. But that was quickly fixed. Order the Cajun flounder! It will not disappoint.

The place is pretty nice. The main dining area was clean, not too loud or quiet. The decorations were nice and not too garish. Service was quick, and staff were friendly. The food options were varied and seemed well cooked with seafood, pasta, burgers and more.

Great outdoor seating, food and bar.......BUUUUT.....Good luck getting a drink or food out there....you're pretty much fending for yourself... absolutely zero service. I think they forgot that they have an outside food and drink bar...

The yellow rice was hard and had a bunch of water in it, as if was left overs add the shrimp taste really funny. Sayville Popeis is the best, I be glad when they open back up, I feel sick.

Great place for dinner. Prices are fair and everything is portioned nicely. Depending on the day and time, the attached bar might be a little loud but worth it if you aren't looking for the upscale experience

Food was okay the more you eat on the endless Crab Legs they get a little more beat up , missing legs and the outside of the Crab was discolored .

Food was sent in an aluminum container with no ventilation. food was soggy and digusting no seasoning, no flavor taste like water my own kid's said this as well. for the price food should have been better prepared and presentation was awful should have more than what was presented. The batter fell off the fish completely disappointing, this was my first time buying there and would never again!!

My boyfriend chose here to dine becauae I wanted Crab legs.. Nice settings, waitress was good and prompt. We had thw Tuesdays special all you can eat platter with snow xrab legs, shrimp and ribs... The crab legs were too salty for me (they were just boiled). I wanted spicy or cajun style crab legs but they don't prepare like that. Shrimp was nicely done but the Ribs had too much fat on it, which made it difficult for both myself and my boyfriend to eat. My mango martini i had to exchange for a vodka lemonade drink which was much better. Service was good. When i do go back, I'll try something different before i comment about thw food there beinf good or not..

Used to be a regular sometime ago (years) and the food quality was not so good, but the quantity was. Just passing through NY we decided to give it a shot, well the prices have certainly gone up, but so did the quality of the food. Everything we ordered was very tasty. The popeis special, broiled fish, etc. They were very accommodating as our visitors grew. Great place and atmosphere.

I only have 1 star so I can comment.
I preordered from this restaurant at 11:10 am, for a 5:45-6:00 delivery time on grub hub, the driver was there for over a hour only for them to tell him they weren't doing grubhub, or uber eats. He showed them my receipt with my order number. Of course they told him they don't have that order in the system. I tried 100 times no exaggeration to speak with someone at the restaurant. They continuously picked the phone up and hung the phone up.
So now I have no mothers day dinner. Ordered over $130.00 dollars of food last week and they didn't send my crab legs.
Trying to support the restaurants during this crisis. But it seems like they don't give af. Never again. They lost some real customers

Nice, classy, clean and safe. This spot is our backyard eatery, for good seafood and tasty food.

Seafood was overcooked. Stuffed flounder was burnt.
Waitstaff was all over the place. Waited 15 minutes before a waitress even came over to table and that was because I raised my hand and kept it up until someone noticed. Very unorganized.

Good food and we had a lot of fun watching the band. It's a bit small inside and can get a little cramped but if you don't mind a crowd and it being a little loud with the band you'll have a good time!

Come on now! What more could you want outta a long island local home grown bar and grill! Fantastic staff always, awesome food! Great selection of beers. Always try the local beers, never know you may find something you really like. The food is fresh long island sea food. I moved away from long island but I'm sure to stop by and get some food and a cocktail or 5 when ever I come back to visit. Want to know what long island is all about, then come here.

I used to go here often when I lived in the area and the prices were pretty reasonable. I recently went on a Wednesday night with a friend when I happened to be in town and had the all you can eat crab legs. I was absolutely floored to find out the price had been raised to $54.99 per person! That is ridiculous and I will never go there again. I should have known something was up when I didnt see a price on the menu. You can go to a buffet and eat all the crab legs you want for a quarter of the price. Definitely not worth it and neither is the service.

Food was delicious, got the southwest chicken lunch special. Service was awesome!

This is a tried-and-true favorite of everyone in our family. The food is always good. The portions are very large. We have never had a bad experience here. The catering they do is very good. We have chosen to have several family party events at this restaurant. The drinks are very good and the rice pudding is delicious.

Food is always great, as is the service. Highly recommended.

Seafood was fresh and you can tell it wasn't frozen. Had fresh raw oysters, amazing. The popei fra divalo special, spicy and yummy, could not finish it was to much food for one. Shocked when I got there bil, I expected it to be much more but it was just right. Overall great experience. Will be back.

Our waitress was a doll ! She served us even though it was 11:45pm !! Yummy fish for all !

last visit was way better than the last time we went. clam strips were cooked until they were crunchy. not a bad place but for the price there are better options. Sayville blows them away, wish they would have reopened it.

I gave them 2stars not because of the food or the service, but because after ordering a drink called the rocket fueled basically a pina colada I found a black bug in it . After looking inside the cup further I saw yet another bug. I pulled it out and waited for my server and showed it to her. Another woman comes to my table no apology nothing stating that it's not a bug it's the tips from the strawberries. I replied" it is huge and it has legs "she's now arguing with me trying to convince me that it's not a damn bug who the hell does that . The wings were great and the curly fries were good also, but never ever again will I go to this place .A simple sorry would have sufficed.

Great service as usual! White clam sauce is lacking something tastes too watery.I think it's a lack of butter or lack of quality butter.
