Great little zoo and amazing what they have accomplished over the years.. Plus the adoption side is fantastic and they seem to take great care and respect of thier animals
Had a great time throwing popcorn to hungry animals! Two sweet ladies at the counter to enter were very kind
Great zoo for children. Easy walking with a variety of cool animals to feed popcorn.
Fun zoo with a good variety of animals who are well taken care of
Small but great place for kids of all ages. Many many animals tigers, lions, a white tiger..bear .monkey ' s and there are beautiful peacocks EVERYWHERE . Just take into consideration the weather. If it is to hot some animals may hide. Great price for a good cause especially
Nice place with neat variety of animals. They seem well cared for. You can purchase popcorn and peanuts to feed to animals. Bathrooms are in a trailer.
It's not big and has very few animals , Exhibits r very plain and not exciting the monkeys cages are really small and old , Their is very little information about the animals etc.. what u could usually find in any standard zoo, And no shows , activities r petting zoo, But what is exciting about the zoo is the atmosphere .. their is all kind of birds and geese roaming around freely and all what u hear is sounds of the birds so u really feel like u r in a zoo ,Also they do have there the "lion king" and a few tigers and brown bears and u could get "very close" to them and watch the lion roaring and it's a awesome experience ,They also let u feed the bear and other animals with popcorn r peanuts and watch the bear eating and looking straight into your face from just a few feet distance , And the price is very reasonable.
Such a sweet place! The animals are all rescues and it's a lot of fun! Big cats and bears and monkeys and more!
Adopted 4 beautiful parakeet s from there. Great place
Nice place. Great to see places like this for the animals so up close and different than zoos. Much like Black Pine in Indiana.
Nice place to take the kids to see various animals, but most of the time animals like the tiger, lion and bear are normally sleeping.
We came at 3:30 waited in line till about 4:05 paid our admission and when we went into the zoo, most animals were inside already. The zoo is open till 5:00. Why are the animals inside earlier than that? It was quite disappointing. The staff was not very nice to us either.
Great zoo for the price. Very cheap and nice place to take the kids, especially if they are younger.
Very very fun, everyone was so nice was nice to see animals
It was awesome!!!! Well priced and all the animals were amazing!!! We can't wait to go back in the summer!!!
This is a great place
They do wonderful things here.
Small walk thru zoo half hour start to finish, kids age babies to approx 13
Nice !
We visited this place and were pleasantly surprised with it.
There are bears, Lions, Tigers, Llamas with dozens of peacocks moving around. The place is small but has stories of animal rescues etc. all around. A gem of a place.
Nice !
Tips:
- An hour or so is enough for it
- The price of admission is very reasonable
- The restrooms are outside the zoo
Its a rescue...every animal has a "story"...thank God for this place
Nice small zoo that is not expensive. Yiu can buy popcorn and peanuts to feed most of the animals. The zoo has several black bears, Siberian Tigers, and a Lion. You can get very close (only a few feet away through a chain link fence) to the Tigers and Bears. Its a neat experience.
FUN! we took our 3 year old granddaughter and she had the best time.
They need money for there park. So come with the kids
Strollers are tough to push in some spots. But a really nice, quiet afternoon!
Not a top notch modern zoo. Don't expect that. It is a place for rescued animals more or less. At this time they have tigers, lions, several different simians, some farm animals and lots of geese, chickens, swans and peacocks. The walking path is sand and they DO have at least 1 balloon tire "wheelchair." Friendly staff. $7 adults and I believe seniors or children under 11 are like $3 or $4. Nice way to kill 2 hours. Recommended if you love animals.
My toddler loves this zoo , the animals are always so up close for her to see! The staff is friendly and they have a wide variety to see !
Great fun & adorable critters. Going through the whole thing takes about an hour but you can stay as long as they're open. Some animals you can pet and feed. Entrance fee is cheap and goes to a good cause. They sell peanuts and popcorn to feed the animals. Very fun!!
One of my favorite places to visit. Fun for adults as well as kids. Head for the bears with your popcorn, they're the most fun to feed
Of course I am all for rescuing animals, but I really don t feel that they are getting the care that they require. From my perspective, there is not enough staff/volunteers to go around. When I visited, I had arrived at opening and spent a couple of hours there. I didn t see some animals get water until as late as noon and it was late into the summer season. The staff made me extremely uncomfortable as well. Very rude when entering the park. Hopefully they can get some more hands on deck. It saddened me so much, I have no plan on returning. And is an infinite amount of popcorn really an ok diet for the various animals they have there? Whose idea was that?
One of my favorite things to do when I'm on vacation I love the popcorn zoo feel bad when you read what the poor animals went through before getting to the zoo.
Nice and small zoo with plenty of animals to see. The ground however needs to be leveled as many tree roots petrude from the ground causing a tripping hazard. Overall a good zoo to spend a couple of hours admiring the wildlife...
We had a super awesome time!! Really nice for the little kids and the adults
Always a fun time for the kids that s local and affordable.
The perfect placer to take young kids. All my son talks about is feeding the animals popcorn. We always have a great time.
Very cool. You get right up close to the animals. The kids love it!
I've been to the Buffalo zoo many times and this place is hands down the greatest !!!
always supported popcorn. brought many animals to wildlife rehabs. just called this place about a mouse with a broken leg (mouse owner and lover myself) wanted to seek advice for humane treatment and pretty much got laughed at for caring about a mouse. seems a lil off for a place who says every life matters. i guess they just wanted snake food.
Love this place! It's a great place to go with the family.
The counter lady was frustrated with me but took it out on my 6 yr old.
We walked the entire zoo in 15mins
We love the popcorn zoo. It is a great little zoo for all ages!
My only problem is that the bird cage they overload it with birds and they won't let you adopt
The best part about the zoo is the animals are rescues. Also you get to feed them popcorn. Great place and staff. Do yourself a favor and visit. You won't be disappointed.
This is such a cute zoo!! Not too big so it's great to bring children here. They also have adoptable pets there too
Rehabilitation zoo. These people do alot to help , you can too by visiting. Great for kids.
Great time with the kids. Perfect for a quick day trip to get the kids out of the house.
The vet there loves animals. It is very easy to tell!
Phenomenal zoo. Everything was close by, do not have to walk large distances. Animals are within 5 feet from you. Many zoo's do not have tigers. This zoo had 6 tigers lions monkeys, baboons and bears. Great time and very affordable. The animals loved the popcorn they have out to feed them.
This was our first visit. We came as a family of 5. 2 adults and 3 small children. We only paid for the oldest, is 3. The others were under 3 so they were free. They take in a lot of animals that have nowhere to go and at many of the exhibits, they share their story of how the animal came to be part of the family. They offer popcorn at admission for an extra charge which you can feed to the animals throughout the exhibits. Beware of the geese who have made themselves at home. One attacked our 3 year old. In hindsight it was funny, and she's no worse for wear but it was terrifying for a 3 year old.
Love Popcorn Zoo.......I would go every weekend if I could
Be aware, that although it says handicap accessible, a regular wheelchair is nearly impossible to push through the sandy terrain. They do have limited availability of beach wheelchairs free of charge. The zoo itself is very nice and good for small children.
Beautiful place to visit with a family. Becaude of covid tgey did not allow you to feed the animals
You can feed the rescued animals with popcorn but the place is not that big.
So much fun!!! So inexpensive!! My kids and my niece and nephew loved feeding all the animals
Very well run place , Great people. John Bergman is a major asset a realAAA+++
Perfect for younger children. Close up experience is a thrill for them.
Great place for little kids. Very safe and easy to move about in with great view of animals. Highly recommend for pre-school kids and younger elementary-school age ones. Love feeding popcorn to the pigs and the peacocks running free.
Great place to bring the kids decent amount of animals and also has an adoption center.parking can be a bit of a problem but overall a nice place
Love this zoo it's affordable great place to take kids
Lots of animals. Only $5 for adults and $4 for children under 12. Children under 3 free.
A bit on the small size park but it was clean and very nice. Don't go with open tie shoes cause the paths are sandy.
The place is great me and my family always have a blast when we go there the animals they rescue is amazing
This place is so much fun for kids, and makes for a great outing! Admission is inexpensive, as is the popcorn. There is a wide variety of animals to feed and interact with/look at, and the facility is a good size...large enough to walk around and explore for a few hours, but not so big that its overwhelming.
If you want to visit a small location which rehabilitates ill or mistreated animals of all types, this is the zoo for you. If you're looking for a full-size, family friendly zoo experience, complete with cafes, splashy video presentations and behind-the-scenes opportunities with the zookeepers and animals, this is most certainly NOT the zoo for you.
Plan to spend no more than 1.5 hours here, because it is not a large area. Its name comes from the popcorn one may purchase at admissions and feed to the various animals one encounters. It's worthwhile to buy it on top of the admissions fee, because there really isn't much else to do, there. The zoo itself is littered with popcorn, much of which lands on the ground because many of the animals are fenced in farther than the average child can throw. (There are some funnels and chutes to aid in popcorn delivery outside specific enclosures, but not zoo-wide.)
Speaking of children, it is best to avoid this place if you have a child that will need to be wheeled in a carriage. The grounds are unpaved, rocky and sandy; you will end up carrying your child throughout the visit because your carriage will not roll unless you've fitted it with tank treads. Outside food and drinks are also prohibited, so wave goodbye to the carefully stocked bag of treats you brought to keep the kids content. They WILL stop you at the door if you try to disregard this rule.
All in all, I'm not sure who this zoo is FOR. Young children are clearly not planned for in the design of this place, and adults can knock a visit out in half an hour, which makes the entry fee, very reasonable for a larger experience, seem a bit steep.
Maybe a fun visit if you're an adult looking to read some heartwarming stories about animal rescues, but look elsewhere if you're planning a family trip.
