This winery had everything you'd want for a relaxing day out in the vineyards. I'm not sure if they do tours but we just came here to enjoy the scenery and drink some delicious wine. The outdoor patio area is one of the best with beautiful views of the vineyard, a fire pit with cozy seating. They also have bocci ball on the other side! The staff is super friendly and accommodating.

We had the pleasure of spending our Thursday afternoon with Martin tasting wines and learning about Ponzi s history. We basically had the place to ourselves. I ll be back in the summer to play bocce!

Travel Portland had the great fortune to host the National Tour Association dinner at Ponzi this August. Wow! Not only is the setting beautiful but the hospitality was terrific. Our guests were blown away by the evening and of course, the wonderful wine. If you ever need one of the best Oregon venues to host an event, choose Ponzi. A really amazing experience.

beautiful winery. the view of their vineyard is amazing. service is good. estate flight on tasting menu costs 20 dollars per person. that includes 4 different wine. We had delicious pinot and artisan cheese plate. surprisingly, the sparkling grape juice is also fantastic. We bought a 4 bottle pack lol. we had such a relaxing afternoon.
This is the third winery we visited on that day. I was a bit tipsy but everything is wonderful. The building looks modern and sophisticated. It's certainly decent place for wine tasting.

Perfectly sited, the Ponzi Winery takes full advantage of the beautiful views.
The architecture of the tasting room is not to be missed. Great wines, warm fireplace and lovely, helpful staff.
Not to be missed!

Great wine!

Great wine!

Great parking (EV charging for tesla and others)

Great views!

Great atmosphere for sitting and enjoying yourself!

The one caveat is getting there, some winding/narrow roads and currently a lot of paving is going on in the area. Once they are finished it should be fine, but it s worth it to get to this winery!

Too pretensious by half. The girl pouring knew nothing about the wines and $15 for a flight of 4? Oh and they are not dog friendly judging from the barking coming from the cars. Out in the parking lot. In the sun. If you like hanging with arrogant fools who think high price = good wine then this is the place for you!

Always a great experience at Ponzi. This was my fourth time visiting the tasting room outside of Sherwood. Fantastic facilities, views and the crew is always welcoming and jovial. Yes, the tasting isn't the cheapest in the Willamette Valley but $20 a tasting is not unusual in other regions like Napa, and the price for a premium experience.

Great for larger groups, huge interior tasting area, covered outside area and a bocce ball court for when the weather is nice.

The place is very pretty and quaint however the pours were small and $35 for only 4 pours seems very pricey for that area and that's what matters the most. The flight we tasted had very mild taste and flavors, maybe needed to age more. Also their menu makes it look like the glass pour prices are bottle prices!! I mean how sneaky. Also imagine how expensive a glass is if we thought that was the bottle price... There was no mention of bottle prices. AND, they do not waive tasting fee when you buy bottles! We did not know that the bottles we bought were $100++ so our total bill was $300+. At that price, all three of our tastings should have been free at any other winery!! My friend called them the next day asking if they would waive the tasting fee because we thought they forgot to waive it but they were rude on the phone and said "Sorry, we only waive
fee if you are a member and our membership start at $350" I mean talk about a Ponzi scheme! Very, very disappointed.. I would rather buy their bottles from Trader Joe's or other outlets than here.. just such a scam...

My husband and I will not be back to Ponzi Winery and you have lost wine club member. While visiting to the tasting room, with a friend who is a POC, was blatantly overlooked and not served by your staff. We requested to speak to the manager and she disregarded what our friend said she experienced. You have lost 6 customers and a previous wine club member. There are plenty of other wineries in this area, skip this one and visit one who treat all customers with respect.

During the week this is a low-key place. It's out of the way location makes it a great spot for quiet wine tasting on a weekday. Out has a great view of the Scholls Ferry area and you can see Raptor Ridge Winery from the patio and parking lot. As one of the oldest wineries in the Yamhill county area, it has some very good wines. Pinot Noir is the focus but not sole varietal.

Ponzi Winery is one of the nicest wineries I have ever been to, and you pay for in each glass you pay. Prices are high, but their wine taste good. Other wines taste just as good, so go for the sheer experience.

There are so many great things about this winery! First and foremost, the view is everything. It s like being in the south of France. Stunning scenery. Second, it s got plenty of seating, both inside and out it s very spacious. Third, and possibly most important, is that for a winery, they re actually kid-friendly! Now granted, it s best if one s children are well-behaved, but there s Bocce Ball outside, they serve sparkling lemonade for the kids, and there s a large grassy area for littles to roam when the weather is nice. The staff there is very friendly. It s a great winery!

I really wanted to check this place out. Disappointed that a glass costs $15 at minimum. You can't even open a bottle, which is similar to the cost of a glass. Great view, but waited 20 min to start an order. We left. This is not Oregon, it's California...price gauging. $$$ We will not return. There are so many other great wineries in the area to explore that value their customers. No thank you!

Beautiful, new and modern. The view is breathtaking. Tiny appetizers $15/ each. The one thing we were disappointed with was they didn't give us a "last call" on wine purchase for our group (while we ordered appetizers) then said, "sorry we are closed, can't purchase wine to drink here - only to go." they kept insisting like car sales men to "buy wine-to-go". Well we did drive all the way out here to enjoy different wines with the view.. But I guess not so much. The manager was really sweet. Definitely will be trying a different place next time.

The views are simply amazing. The service? Not so much. Spent an hour here with my girlfriend and her father on a Sunday. We arrived with high expectations, but walked away 043556 disappointed. I didn t mind the $20 tasting fee (I get it, you are paying for that new facility), but found it almost comical to a degree when we sat out on the balcony at a table that wobbled due to a leg being too short. The wine was fine. The food I m not sure about as we ordered some bruschetta, but never got it as the server forgot to put the order in before we were ready to leave.

We tried to do a tasting here a few weeks ago. It was a busy Sunday, but after waiting by the bar for 10 minutes, being *pointedly* ignored by the bartender and several waiters, we decided to leave. At that point, we did catch the eye of a waiter who condescendingly explained we should have checked in with the hostess who was supposedly by the front door. We hadn't seen her on our way in, and didn't feel like waiting for a table now (I don't know why we were told we'd need to wait for a table, there were several empty ones), so we left. There are too many nice, friendly wineries in the Willamette valley to bother with pretentious ones.

Server was Dany. We did tasting. His timing was right on, in spite of what appeared to be just barely an adequate number of staff. Obviously, it was adequate. And he was able to take time to answer our questions. Friendly guy.

Beautiful views! Easy parking! Aside from that, plenty of other places I would recommend. The service was less than respectful and uneducated. No bottle service is a huge miss. And the miscommunication between employees is another loss.

Good wine. Beautiful location. So scenic. We sat by the windows to look out and have a tasting flight. Our friends are members so the cost was the tip. Had a fantastic waiter.
I would prefer a few more food choices. Menu is very limited especially if you are a gluten free or dairy free eater

I've lost count of the number of people I have introduced to the winery, that's how much I love them. Thanks for making us look good!! Love the staff, every one is friendly, articulate and knowledgeable. I'd go back every week if I could...so I'll just have to settle for a couple of times a month. See you soon!

Ponzi Vineyards is a treat. You must go, taste their wines and experience this beautiful wine tasting retreat for yourself. The new addition, Laurelwood, has fabulous views over the vineyard and the sunset is terrific.

The setting is great. The tasting room is beautiful and the wines are very high quality. I agree that the tasting is expensive but the experience was great. Am enjoying the Chardonnay and the Pinot noir. This is a great stop on a wine tour without having to go far from Portland.

It was a cloudy day today, we exhausted our decision making energy to see whether we should go to the wineries or not. We finally decided to go visit Ponzi Vineyards. It was a great decision and here's why:
We were greeted by our favorite guy, Martin Groshong. Martin is full of energy and his personality shows enthusiasm and love for wine and what he does. He provided us with wonderful and unique wine tasting experience, showcasing their top white and red wines.
The staff in Ponzi are friendly and very accommodating, making an extraordinary wine tasting experience.
The wines are exceptional, consistently scoring more than 94 points by Wine Enthusiast.

We came on a Tuesday afternoon, spent about 3 hours and loved it! We had a truly exceptional experience with the team here! Melissa and Martin were very welcoming, very knowledgeable on the wines and taught me how to taste the wine and enjoy the flavors. We asked probably a million questions about the location and history of it all and Martin answered our questions plus some! I definitely recommend this place as a go to for a wine tasting. Beautiful place and great team!

We loved our visit to Ponzi. The staff was amazing, knowledgeable, and so much fun! We had perfect patio seating by the fire and the view was fantastic! The wine tasting was a great sampling and we learned a lot in the process.

Very harassing email campaign and they will not let you unsubscribe. I would not order wine from this place if you don t want to be harassed with a dozen or more emails everyday with no way to cancel.

Amazing Pinots, amazing view, beautiful architecture and vineyard. They serve cheese and meat plates and you can order a flatbread. Enjoy a tasting or a bottle. This is a very cool place to hang out and one of the first Vineyards in the Willamette Valley. Matt the millenial is not the NO guy, he is the wine guy! He clearly loves the wine and loves to share the history. He is also very entertaining! Make sure to say hi to Matt!

I've been a Ponzi fan since my first taste in 2001. I visited for the first time a few years ago. This time I brought my wife and wanted her to see the place I'd talked about several times in the past . We'll, it's definitely changed, but not for the better, in my opinion. It's still a beautiful facility and a great place to enjoy a glass of wine ine on a sunny afternoon, but the quality of service and salesmanship should be reviewed . 1st of all, I'm not as impressed with their current vintage releases and previous years I personally felt were better, but that's just my opinion, we all have different tastes.
What I didn't like was the memorized canned speach from a staff member. Instead of introducing themselves, asking a few basic questions and building a repor with the potential customer, instead it was "do you want a tasting", that's $20 and I'll bring over your 1st pour. Each pour was (to me) a memorized 'you need to say this and this. ..' then walk away before I can form a question I may have.
Not the explaining to the customer what they are experiencing , involving them in the discussion so depending on the level of the potential customers knowledge and comfort level you can guide them through the experience. I'm a potential customer worth $thousands$ in future sales and I can't get a few moments of your time to make me want to buy your wine? When we were finished, I waited for about 5 minutes and couldn't get the attention of our server I went to the front counter and waited a few more mins for someone and I asked if I could pay for our wine flight. After waiting a few more mins someone else asked if they could help me and finally paid my $20 and slowly walked out wondering ."why didn't anyone ask me if I was interested in purchasing anything ?". We took a few photos got in our car and just looked at each other and saying "what was that ?" Driving to Napa tomorrow to stop over for a day on our way back home after a 2 week trip. Maybe someone will sell me their wine in Napa. We bought several cases at two other favorites near Portland. Time to try out some new places..... ...

I could wax poetic about the personalized customer service I received from Martin Groshong; not smug, but smart, and genuinely thoughtful. It would be easy to spend an entire afternoon luxuriating in Ponzi's pristine tasting room. Though the space is modern, it still feels warm & inviting, and Ponzi's wines are esteemed within the industry. As a Tasting Room Associate myself, I look forward to recommending Ponzi to our guests. Truly an exceptional experience. PSA: Gone are the days of bottle service at MANY Willamette Valley vineyards.

My daughter and I came by late on a Sunday afternoon. Hoping for good weather and the view. We were greeted by fog and Ian at the bar and stayed for our tasting as he was fun, knowledgeable and entertaining! Was going to go by the fire but didn't. Ian kept us entertained and shared great wines with us. Wish we would have come sooner.
We will be back soon! Delicious! Thank you for a great experience!

The view was beautiful and the wines were delicious. The person who took my order for my wine flight was not conversant in customer service. First, when I asked for the elderly lady in our company that prefers her wines sweet, he said "we have nothing for you here." Still wanted to try to make the best of it. After all, the scenery was lovely and that very nice lady who only likes sweet wines was here from England. The waiter, however, went completely absent from our presence after that. He could be seen taking pictures of other customers and bringing wine to other tables, however. I had to go back to the bar twice to get my own next pour. The two others working with him appeared to have noticed and bent over backwards trying to help me after that. I wanted to buy something. Decided against it. If it weren't for the view and the two very helpful employees, I would give this place 1 star. As it is, I'd never recommend a visit to Ponzi vineyard.

This review is actually for the new tasting room which isn't listed on Google yet. $20 for a flight of four wines is obscene. Even Bergstrom only charges $15 and pours more expensive wines. And more than just four! But to add insult to More

A gorgeous space and view that even the rain couldn t tarnish. The hospitality was severely lacking, though. This was the winery visit that I was most excited for but the only one where I decided not to make a purchase. The staff seemed uninterested in presenting the wine or any interest in me and my husband. I probably wouldn t go back. So disappointing for such a reputable label.

Way way overpriced! We brought a group of people here and they wanted $15 for 2 very small tastings. Crazy. We went down the road to cooper mountain and it was much much better. Never again will I fall for this place.

It s big, it s busy and it hard to get served. We visited it in the fall of 2019 over our three day tasting tour. We didn t stay to long because it was difficult to talk with staff and learn more about the wine they were serving.

The grounds were nice with lots to see. Very modern and grand. You can tell it s a very popular place to visit.

My friends and I visited the new Ponzi tasting room this past week, and had an amazing time. The winery is surprisingly close to Portland, yet the venue is breathtaking. The design of the tasting room is very modern and beautiful, and it looks out over the valley. The staff were very kind and made for a wonderful adventure. Thanks Ponzi!

The view and the building are breath taking. The wine is expensive. A single flight for 1 person is 25$. You can not buy a bottle and drink it there. You are only allowed to buy a glass. Ordered food and it never came. Had friends with us who only enjoyed sweet wines. 1st server said they had nothing for them. Asked the next server if they had desert wine and he happily substituted in there flight. Feel like Ponzi is over rated. Many other wineries in the valley that will occomidate and satisfy your experience.

Definitely one of my favorite wineries! It's pretty close to Portland, so convenient, and it's pretty fancy but doesn't feel cold or unwelcoming. The staff was really nice and helped us through the tasting because we are not wine experts! Everything was delicious and I learned so much. I will definitely visit again and maybe do the tour next time. I bought a bottle of the Classico Pinot Noir for a dinner party and it was a huge hit! Highly recommended.

Came here for wine tasting for my birthday and do not recommend. They pour the least amount of wine possible and also have mediocre charcuterie, especially for the cost. Skip this place.

It was ok. Views are amazing but the wines are only so so.

Don't bother ordering a "glass" of wine. It costs almost as much as a tasting flight of 4 wines and you get the same serving size as 1 tasting glass.

Beautiful drive up side of mountain to get there. Also, quite possibly the most beautiful tasting room in the area.
Finely crafted Pinot and Chard, staff was great also. Little pricey, but aren't they all anymore in OR.

A tasting flight is $10 for either three reds or four whites. Not a single thing was said about any of the wines during the tasting - just pour, and walk away. When the staff members did speak, it was just long enough to say something rude. Not recommended at all.

Absolutely loved spending time here!
Lovely hangout spot to just spend a relaxing day, perfect for dates, groups, get togethers, gathering. We also saw couple of groups having bachelorette parties.
They have a great selection of wine!
The flights are a must try. Surprisingly they had some food options too.
The day we went was a little cold, but there is plenty of space indoors to spend time!
Beautiful space with a gorgeous view!
Friendly servers and their service was excellent!
Now that summer is around the corner, pack your bags for this drive to the vineyard, it s beautiful!!
