Pompano Rehab and Nursing Center Review

This by far is the worst rehab center I've ever been in. They give you food that is ice cold when you finally get it. You want the nurse, she doesn't come for at least 1/2 hour.

Phone just rings and rings, no one answers. Not a good sign for quality care.

This place is very disgusting it's dark and dingy ,The CNA are very rude and never available for any kind of assistance.. I was there one day the Cna place my mother on the bed pan and just leave her there for over 2 hours when I went asked for the CNA they told me that she was on lunch. At this point I couldn't believe what I was hearing ...Run from this place please

I am not sure why there were negative reviews, but my mother in law has been there for a week and I have seen nothing to complain about! They are doing some improvements on the interior, and her care and rehab have been very good. They have done everything they were supposed to and have my mother in law ready to return home.
The staff is great, Management is very responsive and i definitely recommend this facility!

Phone number has changed. I can not reach my friend that is there. Google only has phone numbers that do not work. I have experience with this place because a few years ago I needed to place my dad in a home. This place is disgusting with rotten moldy cabinets and walls. Cabinet doors Falling off at ground level. Like they had a serious water leak or flood.
The stench of urine is pervading.
The social worker will give you a tour during ice cream time and present a philosophy that isn t true.
Beware. This place does not follow it s philosophy of standard of care.
Sadly most of us can only afford this cheap Medicaid/Medicare facility.
Human life is nothing more than a paycheck at this place. Gratitude of our health care system.

They turned down a sick woman at the doors and sent her back to the hospital...COULDN'T CONTACT SUPERVISOR...... NO ONE NEEDS TO GO TO THIS PLACE OR BRING ANY OF THERE FAMILY MEMBERS THERE THEY ARE NOT GOOD AT ALL! THIS PLACE DOESN'T NEED TO BE OPEN AT ALL

I don't why these reviews are there. It's crazy to me. My worst personal experience was at Goldcrest Rehabilitation. They were so unprofessional, and rude, and lack of skill to manage care to clients that won't know the difference or good care or not which is a shame. This facility was a fresh of breath air. I was so impressed w the cleanliness, care, timeliness of medication. There physical training and occup training room is four times bigger then Goldcrest Rehabilitation in Hollywood, FL. I can unhonestly say, I don't know who makes the star rating, but Pompano Health and Rehab should be five star. If you want to experience a true one star, try Goldcrest Rehabilitation in Hollywood, FL. To be clear, with this star rating, I was concerned about coming to this facility. If this place was a one star and the other was a five star, made me very concern because I just experienced the worst patient care. From rude, lack of timeliness on medication, cleanliness, needs a over all face lift, billing for items that he never received, medication, lack to training. The PCA had better training then some of the ones called nurses which is sad. It's not all the personal but several. I came to the conclusion, that they are used to managing patients that are bed bound and have no awareness of time or of the type of care they receive and for that reason, some one like us who is aware and can say, where my medication, or could you please call for a exterminator, or could you please provide some clean this area or item thoroughly because some had thrown up several times. Outcome of those request, no exterminators came, black mold thru the air-condition, was told that they didn't have any products to clean at night. They cleaning people do it during the day.

Pompano Health and Rehab, is clean, helpful, organized, professional, and allows you to carry on w your day to work knowing your love one is in good hands. So far have been a joy!!!!! Omg, I can't tell you how I feel so much better. This facility displayed to me, that it wasn't me, i/we where not the issue, or my limited insurance that prevented me from obtaining quality care, it was the previous facility, Golfcrest. Thank you Jesus for hearing my prayer and giving me a comparison. What a difference!!! Goldcrest should take a tour and model this local.

Great place nice and clean with a caring and professional staff. My mom was there 2 weeks and came out able to go home!

My aunt was at this facility for several months after an amputation and had a mostly pleasant experience here. The physical therapist was amazing...he was very patient and encouraging and checked up on my aunt regularly. The nurses were not necessarily friendly and took a little long to answer the call button but were professional and got the job done. I did notice that they were more attentive to my aunt's needs after they saw we visited regularly. They allow day passes without much notice and they also allow for you to take your loved ones outside for a walk or to get some fresh air. The eye institute next door has some picnic tables outside & garden that you can sit and eat lunch at on the weekends. Like any facility...there's definitely room for improvement but I would definitely say it is not a one star facility. I would recommend you keep them honest with random & frequent visits and ask tons of questions if something doesn't seem right. Overall I would say this is a place I would recommend for short term care.

I pulled my best friend out as soon as I could out of this facility. Be aware, they don't care if a "roommate" blares TV at 3 or 4 AM! They nearly starve patients, and treat them like they are a nuisance! Their job is to care for people and they act like they are doing them a favor. DO NOT PUT A LOVED ONE HERE! And worse yet, they screw up Medicare health care plans! They need to be shut down immediately!

My mother hasn't been here a week and in my opinion the CPA's that have cared for my mother needs to be fired and the facility needs to start over. They tend to the patient's majority of the time and if you consult with the nurse she redirection to the CPA, so while they allowed to give less than service and still get paid. How do you leave a patient in the bed for 2 hours without a gown on, I called and was told "let me TRY and find her one" how do you TRY to find a patient a gown in a nursing home facility? Last night after buzzing for the nurse by accident, the CPA walks in and says "WHAT do you want?" After giving my mother her pillow that was on the floor with no pillowcase she said " let me go get you a pillowcase". 40 minutes later as I was leaving I saw her sitting in some sort of waiting area in the dark with her feet up. You didn't have the decency to bring a sheet to cover up the pillow if you guys didn't have pillowcases, or at least tell her you guys were out? I would recommend no one sends anyone they love to this facility. Personally I don't understand why they are still up and running, they act as if they're working for free or doing patients a favor when Insurance actually pays for their stay and they receive a salary. Just disgusting!

This is the worse place to ever put you family members in they are

No consistent care...sloppy service if any......too much attitude

We had a family member stay here for a few weeks. The roommate that was in his room was clearly a homeless man that they let come in at night to sleep. He would leave all day and come back at dark, was loud and belligerent and blared the TV until the wee hours of the morning. Then would leave during the day. Not the best atmosphere for someone trying to rest and recover from an illness. The hallways smelled of urine. Very sad that a place like this exists for those needing to recover and rehab after an illness. Shouldn't be this way.

PLEASE DO NOT ALLOW YOUR FAMILY TO BE PLACED HERE!!!!! My mother almost died from this facility and their staff s negligence and incompetence. She went in walking and left in a wheelchair. Her stay here was a total nightmare on every level. We had to have my mother taken from this place and taken to a much better facility after she ended up with a stage 5 wound (which she got from this facility and they had no idea how to treat). She just had to be taken to the hospital to have surgery last week to remove the infected tissue because the wound could not heal due to them leaving her in her own urine for hours at a time. She now also has a bacterial infection, which will require her to be in long term antibiotics, due to this filthy place. We just had her removed from this place and taken to a much nicer facility with competent and caring staff.

The facility:
First, the entire facility from the moment you first walk in smells like urine and feces. I had gone on different days at different times, but the strong odor was ALWAYS present. There is mold on all of the air vents and the ceiling.

The staff:
All of the staff are fake nurses who are only there to collect a paycheck...and they make sure you know it. They overmedicated my mother, and now her new facility is correcting her dosages. I cannot believe that these people are actually working with vulnerable people. There was a patient with mental illness issues who walked right into my mother s room and laid in her bed and no one was watching her. When I told the staff about the incident, their response was Oh, she s not violent. Really??

The social worker:
I have fought to have my mother removed from this place for 6 months, and the social worker, who is supposed to conduct the CARES assessment, never did, so we thankfully had wonderful staff at the hospital she was at who gave us the low down on Pompano Health and Rehab and told us not to allow our mother to go back there. They told us that people have died at Pompano Health and Rehab due to their neglectlful staff.

The administrator:
I have sent countless emails and made countless phone calls to the administrator, Nashika Jackson, but unfortunately, I have never received the common courtesy of neither a phone call nor an email back from her. It s as if she is non-existent.

I am just relieved that my mother s unneccessary suffering is over, and she can move on with her life. She is much happier now, and so are we. I just felt it was important that the truth be told about this place and their staff from the administrator to the facilities worker. This place needs to be shut down.

****PLEASE RESEARCH THEIR INSPECTIONS BEFORE YOU EVEN CONSIDER HAVING YOUR LOVED ONE PLACED IN THIS DEATH TRAP****
