At Verdi it is part of good manners despite membership for temporary workers starvation wages. In the parcel center you are unabashedly bullied as a lender because your union is happy to mock and laugh at you.

I have been trying to get out of the club since October, terminated several times in writing (by registered mail and acknowledgment of receipt) and by email. No answer so far. Delay tactic?
I cannot recommend you to anyone. Public transport shutdown several times is poor! There are people who work shifts and are dependent on public transport. I just say ugh! !

I should have read the reviews before. The only distinction seems to be the "beautiful building" and the "good canteen with large portions". Of course that's what you want from a union.
Then unfriendly employees, no help and support and a shitty .. termination regulations are not so bad.

I regret being a member and cannot recommend it to anyone !!!

I paid for this useless association for over a year, and if I needed their help, first I would be told that the man would have to pay for membership for at least 3 months, the second time I needed help I would be asked to send all my documents by mail ( Pay slips, etc.) then only silence, nobody answered the phone, NO ONE HELPED. When I wanted to quit, I was told that for some strange reason I had to pay for 6 months even though I had been self-employed since September! Really outrageous. It's just a scam.

Low-income earners and consumers who suffer financial damage from the strikes should also be relieved financially by ver.di. If flights are canceled and consumers have to resort to alternative, more expensive airlines, the difference is not reimbursed by the original airline, but only the ticket price of the original flight. The reason - which I also fully understand - is that it is a matter of force majeure and the airline cannot do anything about it. In short, if you cause the consumer, additional costs, anger and (travel) stress from strikes, at least the additional costs should be borne by ver.di. Please change and become more consumer-friendly - you probably know best that low-wage earners cannot just accept such additional financial costs.

Unfortunately had negative experiences. With us for over 10 years, if you need help they are gone. This is what happens in Lower Franconia, so I can only speak for there. Membership is terminated ... what a shame for the money, because you prefer to invest in legal protection. It's even cheaper than membership when ver.di is all too much. What happens if the employer does not pay or if things are rough? Turned to Ver.di for help. It didn't happen. It would have taken up to 6 months to get my wages. Well Ver.di I had brought in a lawyer specializing in labor law ...
Just the phrase "lawyer" worked wonders for my boss. Pay, no more insults, I am treated like a person. One call and everything is organized. It was too much for you with all the work you have to do for the members for 3 minutes.

Let's hope for more digitization and automation so that all paying customers at rail, airport and Co. no longer need to be served by Verdi members as soon as possible, because then they have finally made themselves superfluous.

Premium fraud organized by ver.di officials via my bank account:

I was originally a member of the ver.di Rhein-Neckar branch. The former ver.di management in Rhein-Neckar has stolen bonuses for the promotion of members in favor of another ver.di official. According to the ver.di guidelines, ver.di employees are prohibited from collecting bonuses for recruiting members because they already receive a reasonable salary from ver.di. Therefore, premium payments are only reserved for ordinary or voluntary members. On the admission sheets of new members, the ver.di employee entered my information on a proposal by the ver.di management so that the accounting department pays the bonuses. The ver.di district management then informed me that premium payments would be made to my bank account. I would have to transfer this to the ver.di employee. I was completely perplexed; I had never recruited ver.di members. Some time later, ver.di actually received payments for member advertisements several times. I have ordered ver.di accounting to stop payments. In the meantime, I have filed a complaint with the public prosecutor. Since then, she has been investigating fraud against ver.di officials.

Paid well for years and when I needed help I didn't get any, just talk out! I quit. Labor law is part of the legal protection insurance anyway. You don't even manage to add the correct departure date to confirmations of termination

About ver.di Vereinte Dienstleistungsgewerkschaft

Ver.di Vereinte Dienstleistungsgewerkschaft: The Expert in Good Work, Fair Wages, and More

ver.di Vereinte Dienstleistungsgewerkschaft is a German trade union that has been advocating for the rights of workers since its establishment in 2001. With over two million members from various industries such as healthcare, education, public services, and media, ver.di is one of the largest unions in Europe.

The name "ver.di" stands for "Vereinte Dienstleistungsgewerkschaft," which translates to "United Services Union." This name reflects the union's commitment to bringing together workers from different sectors to fight for their common interests.

At its core, ver.di is dedicated to promoting good work and fair wages. The union believes that every worker deserves a safe and healthy working environment where they can thrive both professionally and personally. To achieve this goal, ver.di works closely with employers to negotiate collective bargaining agreements that ensure fair compensation and benefits for workers.

In addition to advocating for better working conditions, ver.di also champions issues related to family-friendly workplaces and gender equality. The union recognizes that many workers struggle with balancing their professional responsibilities with their personal lives. As such, it supports policies that promote work-life balance such as flexible schedules or parental leave.

Moreover, ver.di recognizes the importance of diversity in the workplace. It believes that every worker should be treated fairly regardless of their race or ethnicity. To this end, it actively promotes anti-discrimination policies within companies it represents.

One unique aspect of ver.di's approach is its emphasis on grassroots activism. The union encourages its members to get involved in local campaigns aimed at improving working conditions or advancing social justice causes. By empowering individual members through training programs or workshops on advocacy skills like lobbying or public speaking - Verdi ensures a strong voice for all employees represented by them.

Overall Verdi has become an expert when it comes down fighting against exploitation at work places by providing legal support & advice along with representation during disputes between employees & employers.

In conclusion,

Verdi Vereinte Dienstleistungsgewerkschaft is an organization committed to promoting good work practices while ensuring fair wages across various industries throughout Germany & Europe as well as supporting family-friendly workplaces & gender equality initiatives while also emphasizing grassroots activism among its members.
