This is the first time the acoustics have actually worked well. Amazing gig - The Prodigy
Music Gigs:
Sound quality suffers as the venue was clearly not designed for this function.
Unfortunately the city has minimal other options so Pavilions seems to have the monopoly on larger gigs.
Attended the Plymouth Raiders v Leicester basketball game last night with friends.
Lovely venue , tickets were booked online, so we were able to show and go straight in without queuing.
Atmosphere was great and I can honestly say . ...my first time and I thourouly enjoyed it. Plymouth raiders may have lost the game , only a hiccup as they will come good soon , the amount of effort from them was outstanding. Well done everyone and thank you.
Brilliant show but the seating is terrible! Super uncomfortable hard chairs. Please rectify this!
in serious need of new chairs.
really modern impressive venue with 50 year old village hall seats
Seen Greg Davis there and it was awesome, mainly because of him but the theater itself was very good. Clean, good service and quickly in and out.
Watched a few productions here . Access is good and good views from the seating areas
Reasonable priced ice skating. Interior bit tired. Only vending machine coffee. V cold if just watching, even in summer.
Good for small indoor events, could do with a good refit though
But need more security . We walked straight in a nd could have had anything on us to harm someone or something .
Excellent venue, not a bad seat in the house. If you're just after a hot drink or bottle of lager at the interval remember, there is the kiosk as you walk in. Lots of top acts visiting and reasonable prices. Highly recommended venue.
I regularly go skating here and especially enjoy the Wednesday morning 'Coach and Skate' session. It is a shame that the swimming pool has closed, as it was the only fun pool in Plymouth. The arena is good providing the event is not a concert, as the accountings are not ideal, but great for theatre, shows and other events.
Seating to watch acts is very crammed and uncomfortable, drink prices are extortionate. However have seen some great acts here.
Great venue for concerts recently watched the Plymouth raiders here was a great experience for me and my daughter
I met the pros from strictly I'm now friends. With dianne
The show was superb, Pavilions are getting tired, the closure of the direct access to car park is a pain
Recently went to a concert here. Very organised. Staff were welcoming and friendly. Security were fantastic. Couldn't ask for a better night.
It seems bigger stars are beggining to frequent this venue. On my first visit to see Jamie Lawrence, I was treated to the top supporting act Calum Scott and a surprise guest during the main event of nome other than End Sheeran!
Brilliant venue , good seating, wine out of cheap plastic is not nice. Customers should be asked if they are staying in the bar anf if so they should have proper wine glasses. This was the only blemish on what was a fantastic performance by the Strictly Professionals.
Loud and clear rig with ample space for large crowds. Sizable bar so no worries waiting for drinks.
Visited the wedding fayre it was a wonderful experience
Not enough infrastructure to handle the number of people they sell tickets to.
Great venue.. but check terms on ticket. Somebody bought a ticket for me, so I had to take I'd for her!
Could do with investment in new, more comfortable seats and better air conditioning.
Fantastic venue host to great shows and bands. Spacious good facilities. Nice bars, clubs and restaurants near by. The bar is expensive so be prepared! Ice rink great family fun too!
I attended the Mary Black and Clannad concert. Whilst my husband and I had good viewing positions the concert was spoiled by our very uncomfortable seats. The structure of his seat must have been broken as its upright was digging into his back. My seat pad was coming apart and ripped.
We had to tell the chap across the aisle from us to stop tapping his feet. Normally this would not be a problem in a music event but because his feet were hitting the loose metal carpet stair rod, his tapping was accompanied by an really irritating rattle.
So, whilst the music was excellent the lack of comfort detracted. We both felt increasingly uncomfortable as the evening wore on and were glad to finally stand up at the interval and final song. We are both fit and healthy with no spinal issues but even now 36 hours later our backs are sore.
I had really been looking forward to the event as I am in a show myself all this week and just wanted to sit back and relax and enjoy a night out. Not to be sadly.
Amazing gig.(despite our late arrival, sadly due to there being a bad accident en route from Cornwall ) Eddie Izzard is incredible..the personification of Intelligence and humour. Thankyou Plymouth pavilions
Went to see Aussie Pink Floyd. Great experience great venue
Plymouth really need to either close Pavilions or improve it, outside it could do with a good clean
Nice theatre. Small carpark so arrive early to get a space. Nice bar.
Okay facilities. Most staff have good customer service.
Poor facilities not enough food outlets and expensive. Prices for drinks were increased once in the arena. Sound quality was very poor over based and muffled on The Strypes warm up and muffled and over quiet vocals on Paul Weller's set. The band constantly were instructing the stage crew to make adjustments. Very disappointing.
The worst sounding venue I've ever visited. I was talked into seeing Einaudi there, having seen him in a majestic gig, in London's Barbican Theatre, 2013 (when he was half the price) because: "He's on our doorstep and will never return to Plymouth" but I'd much rather pay travel and board to a venue that can actually reproduce sound effectively. We had perfect seats too--the midpoint of the arena, but the bass reproduction was so muddy and convoluted the overall sound stage. The difference to 2013 is hard to put into words and has even tainted it. Half our quartet had VIP seats which were essentially useless (had to stand outside with us, get cold and pour pints into plastic cups) and the staff were dry, shallow and full of platitudes. I'll never be talked into visiting to watch music here again.
Brilliant place to. See your favourite acts and watch basketball
Acoustics are good for the comedy stand up we attended and the facilities were good but let down by the dated, worn and uncomfortable seating
Lucky to have a venue that can offer so much variety
It's a very good venue for families and all others,,very clean and.the staff go out of there way to help you,,there are a variety of events being held that will enhance your experience, all in all well worth a visit.
The event was amazing.
The set up of the place was wrong and out dated. The women were in a 20 minute queue for the toilet and I questioned if any sort of emergency happened whether or not this place could evacuate us all in time or not.
Ok venue. Seating is a bit old and tired. Gets pretty warm during shows with not much wriggle room between seats.
Well organized, and professionally run. It also has good nearby parking.
Just watched Michael Mcintyre but venue awful. Best seats but so cramped and ripped seats. Painful so better to stand on sides!!
A friend of mine asked me if I would like to go and hear Bootleg Beatles, I wasn't sure if I wanted to go but I did so on Thursday 21st December 2017.
I didn't know what to expect the show to be like but I was glad that I did go it was terrific, they got us up from our seats and we sang along with them; my friend and I were sitting on the flat and we were eight rows from the front .
Nice building. Great line ups. Was far to hot with bad seating
The gig was good but the venue wasn't. Felt like a school hall and the chairs were very uncomfortable.
Easy parking outside, friendly & efficient staff, + clean & cool (on a hot day) inside, enjoyed a stage show, a drink & a hotdog. Great experience.
Saw Jason Manford here at weekend. It's a nice size theatre, even when sat right at the back you're not to far away from the stage.
Went there for Cheese Fest. Good venue in a central location.
The worst exam venue I've ever had, otherwise probably alright I've only ever been there for exams :)
Some good gigs here. Staff and managment are very helpful. Sorted a problem for us when we missed a gig when my son broke his arm.
A bit dated. Seats on the flat area were cramped & not very good.
It's a shed that was built in the 1960s that is looking very threadbare and unloved. Time for a refurb at the very least.
Friends and I booked tickets for Sarah Milican before Christmas and were so excited as her shows on TV were so funny, but how disappointed we were. The supporting act was very crude using the F word far too often. Now I'm no prude but surely people can be funny without being so crude. Lastly, Sarah Milican was boring and mundane and we left in the interval and never went back. Would not recommend.
I skate there a couple of times a week and see the odd show now and again a great venue.
The shows are good but the seating is very uncomfortable.
Very well organized venue. All staff were friendly & efficient.
Went to see micheal mcintyre the other evening I think the pavilions needs a refurb the seats are all falling apart the amount this place makes you would of thought they could upgrade the seating atleast other then that show was good
We visited for the annual Remembrance concert. A great experience although the seats are a little hard.
