This place was great for kids. The train ride wasn't quite as scenic as I'd hoped but the experience was fun and the staff were friendly and helpful.

I found the train ride to be alittle boring for the money. The best part of the whole ride was when the clown showed up and scared my friend.(hes deathly afraid of clowns) just seeing his reaction made it worth the money
Love this place! Visit every time I'm in New Hampshire
Not at all diligent about masks in required areas, including the terminal.
We went on the Santa Express for the second year. They provide cookies, cocoa, and carolers. Each kid gets a present and gets to meet with Santa who comes through the train twice.
Classic NH vacation experience! The kids fell asleep but we enjoyed the relaxing ride and tour
Not a terrible way to spend a few hours, but I have to admit I was a little underwhelmed. The staff were very pleasant, the train and station were very clean, and everything was operating smoothly given the current circumstances. There just wasn't much to be seen from the train, at least from the two hour trip we took. A lot of it was just really overgrown trees and brush with some obstructed views of the river a few times. Not the fault of the railroad of course, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a little let down. Probably best for people who would just be excited to be on a train for a little while.
We do this every time we come up to Lincoln new Hampshire.. it's fun for all ages.. the mini golf is great ... it is must do
Nice and clean. Wonderful views. Plenty for kids to be engaged with/distracted and grown ups could have a little quiet together time too. What's not to like. Loved the experience. You are welcome to use the photos, but pls give credit. Have fun.
When I was there, ice Castles were around. It was impressive
Fun time on the train, kids loved the clown. However, the trip wasn't too exciting with not so great scenery. The lunch prices seemed a bit over priced as well.
Unfortunately, this train doesn't really show any scenery, but for the price it is something different to do, especially if you have never ridden a train before. I can imagine kids getting bored after the first 15-20 minutes because I did. Thankfully they passed out coloring sheets and crayons because that was the most enjoyable part for me.
Staff was super friendly and accommodating but the ride itself was anticlimactic
Great seating and the train cars are well kept. Getting to ride on history and see the amazing Forest and Rivers in NH is a must stop for anyone in the White Mountains of NH.
Have come to this location since I was a little kid, and now I bring my own. Nice for nostalgia, but a little worn down.
Annual trip to the Ice Castles. It's great fun for the whole family
Great place for kids that love trains. At some trains ti look at and a little playground with the longest swings. Store with trains!
Fun experience and a dedicated staff. We went on the hour and a half train ride.. Trip away from the station was nice, but we went back to the station on the same exact track so that was a little boring.
The train is a nice way to spend time relaxing a seeing the foliage we got the lunch comes with a sandwich, chips, drink and cookie on this trip we got a cup of hot cider as well as a maple syrup candy
The train ride leaving from Lincoln was nice, but not as picturesque as I had hoped. There was also a person from the Squam Lake Nature Center that was narrating on the ride, unfortunately the speech was rather dull and detracted from the experience.
Super educational and historic for Kittery. Well maintained!!
This is a great mini golf course in Lincoln, NH. We go everytime we vacation in Lincoln.
The ride was enjoyable but probably not too enjoyable because despite all the talk about the different animals that resided in the woods that we went through I didn't see much of anything to be honest. I did like the information on the animals that was told to the riders and I learned a lot so that was nice. Also the price was very good and for a little extra you could get lunch and for a discount you can play mini golf after the train ride. There was a dinner train on a side track that the train stopped at to pick up lunch before we continued so that was neat as well. The gift shop has a lot of fun items to purchase to help remember the ride. We also got free bookbags that said Hobo Railroad. The best part personally for me was any railroad crossings we passed or people were near the train waved as we went by and the riders waved back so that added to the experience.
Well maintained course. Integrated small buildings and caboose could use some TLC.
My wife and I had fun here. Drinks and snacks were offered on the train for a reasonable cost.
A lovely lady played live guitar while the train was in motion.
My 2 year old daughter enjoyed it. Kinda wish there was just a little more to do which is why I didn t rate 5 stars.
Worst holiday experience riding on the polar Express train ride. Apparently it's ok to split up family's so they can't sit close to each other while on board and when asked the girl said would you like a copy of the contract you signed..... I just don't understand how someone can spend $500.00 on 6 tickets to be split up and then insult to injury you get a half of cup of warm chocolate. Don't waste your if your a large family, this would have gotten a
0 start rating if it was possible not as happy as we all could have been.
This was a really fun family activity to kick off the Christmas Season. People are so nice, loved the musicians, Santa and Mrs Clause and the elves! Cookies, cocoa and gifts included, it was great and reasonably priced.
A must-see attraction, especially later in the year. The gift shop is small, but quaint.
Old rail cars and engine, scenic leaves changing color!
Enjoyed the 7 mile train ride on the vintage train. You can have lunch & beverages on board.
Mini golf is great and don't forget the train ride. You have to experience it at least once.
Please do not go on this railroad. This is a waste of money. Their trees on both sides and you hardly see anything else. I asked them for a refund but they said they will not give a refund. Now I will talk to my credit card company. Please do not go to this railroad. I am for little kids it may be some kind of a ride but for adults and teenagers and adults since complete waste of money.
Save it for some other activity
My son and I had a great time. A little boring at first. You may want to bring snacks and small games. We passed the time working on the alphabet, which my son enjoys. Then Santa and Mrs. Claus arrived and my son lit up, along with all the other kids. They were so outgoing and friendly. They smiled and gave warm greetings. They posed for pictures and moved on. Then they came back with presents and posed for pictures again. We got hot chocolate and cookies. Cookies seemed store bought, but, ticket prices would probably be higher if it was bakery. Train picked people up along the way. We stopped at a golf course and headed back. Ride is the same as North Conway, but, N.C didn't have Mrs. Claus or a chance to have a photo taken with Mr. & Mrs. Claus at the end of the ride. But we did N Conway last year so it may be different. N. Conway is less $. Staff at Hobo were great. Train was clean. Men's room is small. Has family changing area. My son enjoyed the puzzle he got.
Train ride was fun and the mini golf course was challenging!
Wonderful ride on the rails!! Every car had well spaced out seating, everyone wore their masks, and all the windows were open.
An absolutely beautiful day to be looking at the foliage.
I was able to buy our tickets online at a discount and print out my receipt as our ticket as well as choose the date and time.
Plenty of parking, a cute little shop and a great information kiosk.
If you love the soothing rocking motion of a traveling train you need to do this!!
It was an 80 minute ride but it was the perfect amount of time.
Great little Mini-golf course set in a very scenic area.
Ok for young kids. It's quick but short and you don't see much. The clown who did the face painting and balloons was the hit of the adventure. Will skip the train ride in the future and stick to the mini golf.
It's a train what you can see a good and relaxing view.
-----ICE CASTLE RELATED----
Almost 20$ a ticket for a 5 minute walk. It was beautiful and awesome to see but it's not as big as you would think and its just I've arch ways. They had a slide and a fountain but just seems like a really far travel for a really expensive ticket.
the place is very nice. We have loads of fun. the gift shop is reasonable. The train experience was very good. Everything about this rail road service was very good. Love to visit again.
I love this place people that work thare are so funny
Nice lttile ride everyone was friendly and helpful the cost was good especially if you package it with the putt putt golf and Clark's trading post
The train left on time and the staff was friendly. There is plenty of free parking and a handicapped entrance. There is a large gift shop with something for everyone. The train cars were clean, neat and had nice cloth seats, even in the coach section.
Excursion train in the town of Lincoln New Hampshire
Great scenery and river views in one of the country's most beautiful regions.
My husband and I had a wonderful time. It was so enjoyable and relaxing. We ll absolutely be back!
Besides the prices of everything in the gift shop, this place is amazing! The prices for the train are fair, and if you go on the dinner train the food is delicious! Everyone that works there is a delight. I would recommend this train to everyone!
Not just for young kids. My boyfriend and I were nervous that it was just guna be a child and parent friendly activity but it was actually very educational and fun. We bought the ride and put tickets so we road the train for an hour then played some mini golf. Both super fun. They also had an animal and personnel from the science center to talk about the porcupine before and during the train ride. They also told us what out sites were while on the train. Train is super cute and has big booths for you to sit it. Mini golf was fun. Course wasn't too challenging or easy.
Fun way to view the scenery. Definitely buy the lunch so you can munch.
It seemed to be fun for younger kids. Too bad it rained that day. Oh well!
I've been coming here for years, even after my childhood days were over. Now I have a family of my own and we now all enjoy coming here every year. It is fun for kids and adults! Educational and scenic. I wish the hours were a bit longer during the day. There is a park to play outside and a wonderful shop of trains toys and goodies. Always a pleasant visit! We will be back in 2019! See you then!!
Grounds very clean. Great place to bring the kids and adults.
For the past 25 plus years I have brought Special Needs people on the Turkey Train and the scenic train ride at Weirs Beach. Brenda and Paul do an outstanding job. And Dave, the Manager in Meredith takes great care of us. My clients look forward to the train ride and love the experience. Don t miss this experience! Drew from Drew s Trips.
Train rides are really nice. Beautiful area. Pirates Cove Mini golf is right next door too!
