Great experience for anyone, recommend max 4 people per booth. The hot chocolate was a little watered down, but still good.
Fun trip for the kids. Stars because it was hot and no AC and only little sliding windows made for a sticky ride
Went in January when they had the ice castles up. They were spectacular, definitely get there when it's starting to get dark though.
Enjoyable 80 minute (less than 15mph) train ride while the friendly conductor shared some info about local attractions both past and present. As a photographer looking to shoot pictures of the Fall Foliage, I was disappointed that the windows that open are too low to shoot photos out of. The conductor was nice enough to let me shoot some photos out the front door of the Train on the return trip.
Went mini golf there didn't have time for the train ride, but I heard that was awesome
Very disappointed! Very hot in the train. Meal offered was a hot dog. Boring normal along side a highway type sites to see.
Great train ride experience. Staff was very nice, train was clean, and ride was relaxing. Fun play area for kids while you wait to board.
Witnessed and watched some pretty terrible things here.. Got a montage of it in my mind. Trains just...
Can't even bring myself to say it out loud.
Went for mini golf only. (Forced father's day activity or else I'd never have gone.) Witnessed them dump the golf balls in the rack without sanitizing them after we played. Same for clubs I'm sure. A bottle of sanitizer was on counter at least. There was no explanation for weird pool noodles cut and filling the holes. Employees couldn't explain them either. At least it's not close quarters with other people.
Polar Express a little over priced and Que line was not organized. Overall experience was ok.
I think the scenic was great but the exhaust from the engines smelt bad but its not bad scenic ride i would take it. i take one trip at lest every year.
The Ice Castles were very cool. A bit over crowded. It was hard to see the fire dancers.
Now this is a great mini golf course! Probably the most scenic one I've ever been to, and there's a lot of variety at each hole. We had a lot of fun.
This was awesome if you get a chance to visit it do it
The guy that checked us in was awesome. Please give him a raise
Great for a naturalist. If you don't like diesel soot, then you may not want to ride this train. But otherwise, it is really an amazing ride.
P.S. it's very trippy when the train curves and you look at the car in front of you.
Paul the manager of the hobo railroad went above and beyond to find my mother s missing sentimental items that she lost during our visit for the journey to the North Pole (where we had a blast). We just wanted to say thank you for their kindness!!
The ice castles were amazing. Well lit and the ice slides were fun as well. Great for kids.
We go at least once a year. We always enjoy ourselves. Love the clown, she is great with the kids, she does balloons and face paint.
Good historic rail ride through the foothills of the White Mountains with an educational narrative throughout. Clown on board for kids with balloon animals and ice cream treats. The gift shop has all sorts of train memorabilia and toys but is not inexpensive.
Great time! Lunch was great ride was great and we learned a lot about local nature and history from the great tour guide! Coming back for sure
Fun for kids, not as big as the photos online. Expensive snack bar and gift shop. Don't think we would go again.
Waste of money, the train line doesn't have any worth seeing views, not even ant foliage, spend the same on loon gondola, that is more worth it.
Great fun for the kids, polar express trip was awesome for my son, he loved it
Went to the ice castles they had there....pretty cool to see...my boy had a blast paying on the ice slide and climbing through the tunnels....and the fountain was pretty cool to watch....and the lighting and the way they did it all was awesome!!
Very comfortable and rustic place right next to the Ice Castles!
You must visit Hobo if you're in Lincoln. Historical train ride, playground for the youngins and mini golf.
This is a train, let's start off with that. There is nothing more nothing less. The train rides goes though upper New Hampshire. You get to see nive NH woods, and communities. The rail the we travel on dates back to Mill and Grand Hotels. It is sad that the rails are not completely surrounded by trees, there are house and neighbourhoods, but that's nothing the railroad can do. The best part of the ride is the view of the river. Nothing can beat the view of clearwater, you could seen loons and other cool birds. The train itself is old, but not historic. They use cars from the 1220s to the 1950s. And the engine they use is a late 1940s Alco. They are cool to ride in, and comfortable. The conductor talked about the history of The railroad, and the area. You can get food on the train, and the staff on the train were very nice. Would recommend.
The ride its self was fun. Not the smartest staff I have ever met. But the kids had a good time. Santa was amazing and a few of the elves were outstanding. We enjoyed our experience.
Great attraction! It goes along the pemigwasit river (hope I spelled it right) with beautiful views.
With the covid 19 protocols in place, it's missing the attraction of going here.
Home to icecastles in the winter and it was amazing! Dress warm! Snowpants and all because there are lots of things to climb on and slide around. Bring cash for hot cider and chocolate. The "gift shop" is sort of lame and cheap, but you can purchase a commemorative photo for a small fortune.
The two employees very friendly very clean mini putt
Visited Ice Castles here! Awesome at the end of January, but a little melted during February school vacation week. Blame Mother Nature!
Cool mini golf. A train came by while we were playing.
Good people and great service fun ride for a train well kept clean
This is a kid attraction only. Adults will most likely be bored as it's a slow ride through a mostly wooded area without much to see. The lunch on board option is a good one for the kids as even they will likely be bored without some added distraction. The slow pace of the train means you will be smelling diesel smoke and fumes the whole ride.
Good fun for the kids and a novel way to spend a morning or afternoon. When we went, it was raining quite hard but the colours of the local leaves were still impressive and vibrant. The commentary was good and informative and the staff served samples of local produce on the return trip. Overall good fun, but don't expect 1st class luxury.
It's kind of cool eating a picnic lunch while the train meanders leisurely through the woods and over the streams of northern NH. The staff were friendly and efficient. Nice time for a family. The chocolate chip cookie was really good.
It was a good short ride. There was a chance to buy drinks and snacks. Free samples of seasonal treats was nice.
Clean, affordable, friendly staff.Good place to visit on a beautiful sunny day!
Long trip for people from not around. We visited ice castle. Price around $17. Nice setup - different lights, music, slide, live fire performance, hot beverages and of course ice. I wish the castle would be bigger, still we had fun. It's cold there! Dress warm!
Wow you could actually use a public restroom there!!!!!
Fun place for families. 18 hole mini golf was a lot of fun.
Nice ride though a bit short. Price is reasonable so it a wash. Nice staff.
Well maintained mini 18-hole mini golf course with plenty of shaded benches in between holes. Lots of fun shots, from cave formations to mountain top drops. Also, VERY affordable!
Great family fun! I suggest buying the lunch on the train ride! Plus bring cash.
This place has a decent gift shop, mini golf for the kids, lots of parking, and a slow train ride. Don't waste time with the train ride because it's boring. It passes through some wooded areas with some trash, some storage places, the road/highway, another old broken down train, a couple bridges where you can see some almost dried up water, but most of the time there isn't a "view" to see. Once it gets to the end it stops and goes back in the other direction so you get to see the same thing on the way back. They also try to sell you some overpriced snacks on the train.
There was less train-related things to do than I had thought.
It was cool to see this ice castles in person and it was easy to find traveling.
