Made reservation over a week ago. First time going out to eat in over 8 months to celebrate our anniversary. Got to the restaurant and it was closed. They confirmed my reservation yesterday. Went on their website and said it was closed for a week because of a covid case at the restaurant, which is fine, but let people who have reservations know before driving all the way over there.

The Pluckemin Inn made one of our first night's out since COVID ultra special. From the moment you walked in (everyone in gloves/masks, tables socially distant and time-slot seatings) to when you left (we even left with two extra wine bottles from their distribution center next door!), it was a wonderful experience. While they have over 40,000 bottles of wine in stock, we struggled to find something on their list that we'd like. Thankfully they have a sommelier on staff who was able to share some additional options that weren't on the menu (and who didn't try and sell you the most expensive bottle).

As for the food, it was AMAZING. Side note - I requested a hot water with lemon at the beginning. As I was taking my last sip, they were coming out with a new one. As our wine glasses got a little too low, they immediately came over to pour. Their attentiveness (for what you're paying) was much appreciated and well executed.

Ok, now the food. We had the gnocchetti sardi (little gnocchi with pheasant ragu, pecorino, and truffle) which was TO DIE FOR. I would have had this as my entree alone. A must get. As another appetizer we had the foie gras. Having foie gras the night before at a different restaurant, THIS was the way and quality it should be consumed. Entrees were the suckling pig (not the whole thing, but a sizable piece) and the special cod (I know, cod right?) which came in an amazing seafood broth with calamari, clams, and artichokes. Both were incredible in their individual flavors. To finish, we had the apple crostata (could have had more apple than crust, but a wonderful flavor) and the dark chocolate bavarois (think the consistency between mousse and fudge covered in a chocolate shell).

Pluckemin Inn did a fantastic job, and we will certainly be back.

Imagine a restaurant where the atmosphere says upscale, yet casual. Relaxing, yet professional. You can host an awesome client appreciation event here or have an intimate night with a significant other all in the same place. Pluckemin has it all.

Now getting to the food. I enjoyed the risotto with duck confit. Good texture (I like my risotto with slightly more bite). Seasoned well, and an overall great experience. Then came my main course, the veal chop. Beautifully executed and seasoned. I paired it with wild mushrooms and broccoli rabe. The only disappointment was the brocolli rabe (i suggest a pan cook with garlic, crushed pepper flakes and a flash blanche of chicken stock for more flavor). We paired our dinner with a nicely chilled Sauvignon Blanc from Sancerre (approx. $80). It didn't disappoint.

The service was top notch and we were treated as if we had frequented the establishment for years although it was our first time visiting. One thing is for sure. It definitely won't be my (or by business) last time dining at this gem.

Amazing food. Enormous selection of wines. Perfect atmosphere for a nice dinner. Not a cheap date restaurant. You want an excellent meal? This is a place you should definitely check out. The lunch menu is also amazing! The young talent they have in the kitchen are always coming up with something delicious. Call ahead as it tends to be popular no matter the day or time.

Quaint little place that is as charming as it is awesome. Went here for lunch with a buddy and the ambience was awesome.

We were greeted by a smiling hostess who ushered us to our table. I asked the waiter for a recommendation and he suggested the Cauliflower Steak. I m not a huge fan of cauliflower, but it was brilliant. It came well seasoned, with a side of farro. My friend absolutely enjoyed his chicken entree

The place is well appointed and clean, and the service is exquisite. For dessert, we had a pecan pie with maple ice cream and it was heavenly.

I will certainly go back!
