I made a review in past week or so about having to wait, but I want to make it clear Lucy and staff are the best tellers the store on Dempster and Dodge, they are always so helpful,. I had a wet check from hard day at work and Lucy went out of her way to help me out she deserves a raise I've been cashing my check here for+10yrs

I went to pls check cashers on the 3rd to get a money order for my rent. I went to the counter and was able to cash my check for 774.19 and asked for a money order of 1930 of which i handed them $1165 more
They handed me a money order which I put in the envelope with the rest of my money I had at hand and left. As soon as i arrived home i realised they handed me a wrong money order because the amount was incorrect. I drove back within the next hour or so back to rectify the situation.
Thankfully, the manager who had counted the money and was supervising the other tellers was still on duty and issued me another one for the same initial amount of 1930,which i took home and dropped it in apartment rent box
On the 15th , I got an eviction letter from my apartment for return payment. It was then they showed me a copy which showed that the money order had been stopped and that i realised that something was very wrong. At first I thought it was an error and even the apartment complex was strange because a money order is certified funds,which is very rare. I drove back to the same PLS location to try and get an explanation for the issue. I explained to the manager on duty the urgency of them fixing their error because I was very concerned about getting evicted and paying all the extra fees, I even went the extra mile to let them know I have a child at home whom I can't explain why we are being evicted right before christmas. Unfortunately it did not go well because the manager could not give me a definite answer to why it was stopped. I then called their customer service number and explained the situation,after which they advised me to wait for the district manager to call me within 24-48 hours, which has not happened till today
I would like to state that on that same day(15th) the manager offered to give me 1100 to fix the situation in which I refused because it is less than what I paid. Then she also stated that the store had less money on the 3rd when they were closing up which i think is very suspicious.
I have been calling the customer service number every day from the 15th-19th and no one is able to assist me which led me to file a police report for theft because I believe what they are doing is fraudulent and I feel targeted.
I have a receipt to show my purchase and they have cameras which I believe should make this matter resolved easily and quickly but the store is not communicating with me, I have sent messages on all the social media platforms to see if anyone would respond but to no avail.
They gave me a number for the district manager but she was unresponsive as well.
I would like to also state that I had to pay 2153 on the 18th to avoid being evicted. I don't believe they understand how much of a loss it is that I had to pay rent twice within a 15 day period. And late fees incurred from the 3rd til the 15th. It is a very hard time right now with trying to get used to the normality of covid and i barely make that much because unfortunately work has not been doing well financially too.
I had to take some time off work so I could go to their other location at 8900 westheimer rd houston tx 77063 for assistance.They sounded willing to help over the phone but as soon as i arrived nothing was done and i was asked to wait for a phone call they from the district manager.
It has been emotionally stressful and financially draining dealing with this by this matter. I have been working as much as my job allows me to make sure that my family especially my son is ok and I can't even afford to buy him a christmas present no matter how small because of the uncertainty of getting a refund, not to mention that I am behind on all of the money I lost to pay my rent twice, along with new penalties and a bad image from my apartment management. I am worried about paying this month s rent, now.
I'm hoping we can resolve this peacefully and get out money back as well as fees incurred in the process.

My daughter received a phone call that there was fraud activity on her card. Yes, she has direct deposit going on a card. She cancelled the card and was issued a new one. When her next direct deposit was to go through PLS has no information as to where her money is. They are constantly telling her to call back in 24hrs. They are telling her the issue needs to go through IT. It has been 5 days, over 1200hrs later, and she is still getting shafted about her money. I am speaking for my daughter cause she is extremely upset about her money which is close to $700. Not to mentioned she has bills and a baby to take care of. All customer service is doing is reciting what is scripted for them to say instead of resolving the issue. Our next move will be the attroney general office and the BBB. Do not do business with PLS.

I would like to comment about this location 4134 S Archer Ave, Chicago, IL 60632. Can you please replace you American Flag with a new one. The one that is on the pole now is in taters and barely hanging on. The picture you have on our website was taken in the summer and the flag is in good shape. Not anymore.. Thank you

So after leaving two complaints and receiving no response this week here I am.. I went to the 95th evergreen park location and took my $1,400 stimulus payment off my paypal card.. They took $50 to complete this transaction but on my account it says that they took less than $4. My question is where did the other $46 go. Its not on my receipt and I was charged . Contact me please.

The girls that work at this location are by far so...

The girls that work at this location are by far some of the worst customers service Representatives. They re rude, unprofessional, degrading and if you say something about it, another will intervene not to de escalate the problem but to add insult to injury and do the very thing the first representative was doing.
