Burger. Get their burger. It's so good! I have been several times also for lunch, it's really nice for a business meeting. Only problem they tend to run a little behind and not on a faster pace during lunch hour. They have specials during their lunch hour which makes it very reasonable to go. The Sunday buffet is good, the breakfast items are delicious. Some of the pastas could use help. Staff is friendly. Plentiful drink menu.

Great food and specialty drinks. The view is beautiful with the location on the water. I wish the food menu was a little bigger but that is my only criticism. Would definitely go back.

Went for a friend's wedding, large rooms available for service and reception. Snack service was very good, table settings for reception were beautiful.

Banana bread french toast for brunch will have me coming back

Loved it! Great food, and 5 star hospitality. They don't take forever, and it is an AMAZING place to eat any time of the day.

It took an hour for dinner to arrive. One dish was cold.

Top notch in every way. We had black bean burger, chicken and bacon panini and a house salad with chicken. Everything was flawless. We had a great time with the appetizer - a HUGE pretzel (like 12 wide!) which comes with three superb toppings. And the dessert - a key lime tart - was not only beautiful presented - it tasted great. Pictures are posted as well. Don t miss it!

Great location on the St Joseph river with the food selection, drinks and service of high quality.

Good food but like everything in the USA, too large portion and heavy sauce. Outdoor terrace is NOT sheltered from rain. It would be so easy to do it, but they forgot, or messed up the design.

Third time there.
This time the bf and i were seated in the bar area near the fireplace. I never knew how loud folks can get over watching GOLF on tv, but wow.
I ended up with the half ribs, fries and coleslaw. Was very good. I didnt like the fries the first time i went but they were not as heavily seasoned this time. The ribs were honey bbq and had a spicy after taste.
He had a steak. It came with some potatoes that neither of us liked.
I got dessert to go. Was hoping for flourless chocolate cake again but they didnt have it. So i got my other favorite german chocolate cake. It was very good. Did not disappoint!
Cant wait to see their summer menu sometime soon

Had a wonderful lunch there last week. Beautiful scenery I would highly recommend it.

The waitress was very polite but slow with the food and service. I asked for a beer and after about 15 minutes she came out and told me it would be another 5 minutes before she had the beer and at that point I was already finished with my meal. Food is spectacular! Service is subpar.

Other than the bartender on duty right now, the staff is amazingly immature and inattentive. We sat outside because we brought our dog which is allowed. We were told no one could serve us in that section and that we had to walk in and out serving ourselves from the bar. Next thing you know 3 other parties, 1 with a dog, were seated with a server assigned. A server who promptly ignored us. The manager should be fired. The staff should grow up. Again, other than the bartender on duty. Staring at phones rather than taking an extra table 30 feet from the door. The Inn should be embarrassed. I even held the door for the server who then brought water for the other dog, but not ours. Took the high road while there, but this review needed to be written and posted. Expressed my displeasure inside in a calm manner, however; they stated the manager changed course on serving that section. Just never included us in the change of plans. I'm outside now writing this review. As a person who has worked in the industry I am appalled. We usually like Planks. Last time.

Place was quite nice, the food was good, although there were like weird additions to my plate that seemed unnecessary? I got the mushroom ragu, which came with toasted bread and pesto, normal right? But it also came with 2 giant tempura battered mushrooms?? Like the entree was delicious, no need to add more stuff to the plate.

Lots of fancy options, but even the simple options are way overpriced.

Went here for my 50th birthday. Food was absolutely amazing and service was outstanding. I'll definitely be going back.

Nice place to get a drink. They make a decent old fashioned, but I am not a huge fan of the food. In theory, I really want to like Plank's food and give them 5 stars but something about the execution is just lacking. Overpriced for just OK food might be the issue. I'm always willing to give them another shot next time I'm in town because the staff is friendly and attentive.

Charcuterie was delightful, oysters so fresh! Dill butter on the breads and spreads was amazing! Paul the manager got us a great table by the fire place and service was excellent and on point. Chef Elton and his staff did a amazing job ! Will definitely e back what an amazing experience 5 stars all around.

Ribs are very good! My wife said her burger was excellent, best she'd had in years!! Kyle and the other wait staff work so well together- they made our party of six's visit Awesome!!

Back in town visiting with family, Plank's never disappoints! We had a great spot out on the porch. Food and service was wonderful.

Good atmosphere but food is always lukewarm. Bartender was a sweetheart though.

I have been here before and was very satisfied, but this time the service was like a low grade bar and the chicken waffle was okay but the chicken was mainly fat and crunchy chunks of breading, I will give them a second chance but if it is the same service I won't be back

Sit on the patio and enjoy the view! We watched a huge freighter unload and turn around while come about 30' from shore. All while drinking delicious local beer and enjoying the salmon BLT. It all made for a very enjoyable lunch!

Average at best.We ordered drinks, calamari as an appetizer, a hamburger and 2 trout dinners. Everything came out very slow. Looking at the side dishes you could tell they were sitting. It was 1 hour and 20 minutes before we saw our entrees. The calamari was not fresh and the table could not finish it because. The trout dinners were ok. Nothing I would go back for however. The hamburger and fries were not good. When a 14 year old will not eat a burger and fries you know there is a problem.

We had to wait over 30 minutes, and nobody come to serve us, other people were coming and being sited and served right the way, on the end we had to leave and find some other place to eat...

Superb food and service with a nice atmosphere. Must try!

Make sure that you have Kyle K. as your waiter, he has the best food suggestions & he will make your dining experience most enjoyable!! The food was mouth watering! Very pleasant atmosphere! Looking forward to dining there again in the near future.

Popped in for breakfast and was immediately intrigued by the Bloody Mary with charcuterie skewer add-on, so ordered it. A fantastic array of meats, cheeses, marinated veggies and seafood arrived with a well-balanced cocktail that wasn't too hot or too mild. Also had the chorizo benedict with perfectly cooked eggs and a dish flavor profile that kept me more than satisfied. It's going to be difficult selecting another breakfast joint other than Plank's from here on out.

Food was great, was pretty busy and took some time but service and food great.

The server seemed bored, and every table near us got better service. The food was ok, but my wife's dish didn't come with the rice listed in the menu. Also, the drinks were very slow coming from the bar. We won't be back.

Very disappointing experience. Had an 8 pm reservation, we arrived at 7:55 and was told they were full and not taking anymore wait-list names. We made our reservation over a week ago on Open Table. Very poor planning and customer service.

Beautiful place, but our waitress was horrible and the food was gross. The soup was the only good thing.

It's a good place, a nice view of St Joseph river (channel), a tasty mimosa... the menu, needs an improvement- we were there for lunch but only got a kind of snack/breakfast thing. A great place like that would be wonderful with a full lunch menu. Still, a good option for a lazy summer day.

Beautiful surroundings, great atmosphere and delicious food. We came in for New Year's Day brunch had an awesome experience, service was great a tadd slow but understandably so, but must say our Hostess was super fantastic and really helped to make the experience

Plank s is a beautiful restaurant on the water. The food is amazing! We had dinner and came back the next day for breakfast. Their crab cakes are terrific as well as their hash and eggs, chicken & waffles, muscles and Cuban! You can t go wrong with anything you choose.

We went here for brunch on a Sunday and it was good, but great. We only ended up here after our first pick had a 90 minute wait (didn't think it'd be THAT busy on a Sunday at 11:30 but live and learn). We were able to get right in and had the buffet. The food was good, but not fantastic. There was fresh fruit, typical breakfast fare (eggs, bacon, hashbrowns, toast), lunch fare (pasta, chicken, ribs, fried fish), an omelet bar, and a donut bar. The price was over $20/person for the buffet and it just wasn't worth it for that cost. If we went back I'd definitely order off of the menu and hope that it's better than the over-priced buffet.

I have mixed emotions about this review. We were greeted and sat right away. Our server came over, Sujaya (I'm sure I'm spelling that wrong), and was great and took or drink order and then brought our drinks. We then ordered. We arrived at 7:30 so there had to have been a bit of time between seating and drinks and order. But it was 8:43 by the time we got our food. One of us got a salad that came out with the food. The food was phenomenal, I will not short them on that. But my biggest issue was a group sitting adjacent to us with three children. All of them had electronic devices on full volume with no headphones. I finally said something to Sujaya about it and she mentioned that we were not the first ones to complain but yet nothing was done about it. So all in all, our server was great, the food took WAY TOO LONG, and the table next to us pretty much ruined the experience.

Overall it was good. The food was good. The service was good. The view was good. It is good place. You like good place. You go to this place. Very good place.

Enjoyed their shrimp scampi with homemade basil fettuccine pasta noodles. Sat and the bar and loved the views of the water. Very relaxing.

Better than most hotel food. Chicken and waffles with sriracha maple syrup were amazing. Eggs benedict good. Cod was good but underseasoned. Shrimp tacos had nice seasoning but shells would not hold. Caprese is really a full salad with burrata. Very good but not what we expected. Wings were large, well cooked and yum. Calamari was cooked and seasoned very well.

Very disappointing experience. Our party of 8 was here for the first time this past weekend celebrating a girls day out. We had reservations for Sunday at 1:30. We arrived a little early, and politely asked the hostess if there was any way we could sit outside. The hostess snarkily replied that we didn't specify we wanted to sit outside when we made the reservations and they didn't have a table. I was simply inquiring. Once we got to our table, the server promptly got our drinks and took our orders. This was unfortunately the last good service we would experience. We waited over an hour for our food to arrive after ordering, which was confusing as the dining room was basically empty and there were only 8 or so tables outside. No one offered any explanation or apologized for the wait. When the food came out, one person's eggs were cold and another's eggs were fried hard when they had been ordered over easy. The server did offer to replace the eggs, but this took the kitchen 12 minutes to do so. The rest of the food was sub-par. We had ordered one plate of banana bread french toast to come out shortly after our other food, but we had to wait 20+ minutes after we had finished eating our meals just for it to come out with burnt bread. We had to flag down our waitress to ask for our checks after sitting there for awhile. We then waited 10+ minutes for her to return to settle them and eventually had to get up and ask the manager if she could help. Gratuity was included in our bill because we were a large party and offered much more than was deserved. Three people paid with cash, and while two were exact change, one was not. The server eventually brought the checks back to sign and did not ask if the person with cash wanted any change. So the server kept an extra $4.50 resulting in almost a $10 tip for a $30 bill. We were so fed up we didn't want to wait to flag down the server and ask for the change. Over two hours and only poor service and mediocre food to show for it. Would definitely not recommend.

Seriously top 3 restaurants in St Jo, seating outside provides a great view of the river and St Jo (very much recommended)....plus everything here is delicious, we went there 5 times during the summer cause we couldn't get enough
