Planet Fitness Review

The manager and her staff are very unprofessional. You walk in the door and you get greeted to them all on their phones and not even greeting you with a smile. They walk around the gym talking to their peers rather than tending to the customer. The manager had an employee who wasn t even in uniform come and tell me that I am slamming the weights when clearly I was not and she said it with the biggest attitude. Customer service at its worst. Considering cancelling my membership.

It's clean and the staff are great. People aren't hanging around just trying to pick each other up which is nice.

Have used my black card basic membership in "many" different Planet Fitness gyms and have never had a problem. Tryed to use it here and was told I needed to pay an additional $5 to workout here. No explanation from the uncaring, bordering on condescending young lady at the entrance. Was offered nothing. I asked if I could review a contract to see why and was refused. Glad there is other gyms nearby and must add that this is by far the worse customer service and attitude I have ever experienced at a Planet Fitness.

Great place to unwind first, with the message beds, then with all the various machines and equipment. Worth every penny.

This place always gives me a sense of good vibes. I come in and I'm able to workout in peace. Not afraid of using equipment because the facility is very well kept! Clean and the staff is very friendly. The General Manager, Mr. Kendy C, was very pleasant and did not mind helping me with any questions I had regarding my membership, which plan best fit my needs, and recommendations on machines to use to target certain areas during my workout. I can be a bit dinky at times lol... but he was very patient and caring. He's always Very Professional everytime I visit! I Definitely recommend this facility to anyone looking for a fitness home. Great selection of machines and its a plus that the bathrooms are always clean!

Okay fitness room; but it's dirty compared to other Planet Fitness. The customer service is great and the employees are friendly, but it's just dirty.

Every time I go to the jym around 1-3pm the mens restroom is always dirty (specifically the toilet on the far right)... and the seat needs to be replaced.

Perfect place to have a good work out, clean, good staff, good quality in all sense starting with cleaning, staff is veru proffesional, and excelent communication.

Very clean. The early morning staff are usually friendly. Gym is always clean and the people who come here generally clean the equipment after use. Not sure how the place operates during the evening and night hours but early morning work outs are great.

The staff and trainers are professional, courteous and helpful.

This gym is clean and affordable. You get the most out of your money. I love taking advantage of the massaging chairs and beds.

I don t know where to begin, the staff was extremely friendly and helpful with assisting my mother and I. Especially, Kendy he was very knowledgeable and informative with the workout. I definitely recommend this gym to anyone to join. Very professional and optimistic

Traveled to Boston Massachusetts found a local planet fitness to workout and it was newly renovated and felt like I never left my home gym great deal great company

I don't appreciate a gym requiring bank drafts. So I didn't sign up. I went to a gym down the street that took my debit or credit card instead like other normal businesses. The other issue was how long I had to sit and wait just to sign up. You would think to sign up would be an easier/ faster process.

I would give them 0 stars. There customer service is beyond crappy and the assistant manager and manager are both extremely rude. I would never sign up for a membership at this location unless they both were replaced. They have fees that they lie about and are not upfront and honest. Good luck.

Really like it. Plenty of aerobic machines and a really cool circuit area. Highly recommend!

Planet fitness has the worst customer service ever the employees there dont know jack when you ask them a question they look lost my debit card got charged twice. For my gym membership and nothing was done about it i gave them my bank statement as they requested and now they can't find my membership its been 3months now and still haven't got a response this gym is money hungry

Had to come back to write another review because I truly appreciate the security this location provides: the hours, courteous and helpful staff, the cleanliness, and the variety of equipment. Super appreciative that despite all the COVID crazy, these traits are a constant for this location! I know working out with a mask isn t ideal, but the implementation of this policy just shows how much they value us gym goers so thank you!

What a sorry excuse for a gym franchise. Pizza and bagels? Also supposed to be 24/7 but it isn't, they advertise they're 24/5 and still isn't. Closed on the weekend nights.

Although longer than most planet fitness, this particular location has more cardio equipment that any other I ve been to. This in itself is not bad. Planet fitness is not a place know for bodybuilding but body sculpting, and this location definitely focuses on that.

The staff is super friend and welcoming. There s ample parking as it s located in a busy shopping center with hundred of spots available. Additionally, it s located in a plaza that s close to everything. If you want Thai food after a great workout, there s a Thai place next door. Chinese, there a place next door. Publix, it s right there. GNC, is right next to it. You want to go to the doctor, get an MRI, see a dentist, they are across the street. This place is basically located in the center of the Broward County universe, and there s nothing wrong with that.

So, head over to planet Fitness, get your workout on, and go get something to eat right after, trust me, you ll have plenty of choices at this location.

Just the right amount of things to exercise. Machines, weights. All newer items so looking good.

At 1am the front desk Staff was very accommodating, friendly and attentive. I was pleased to witness the machines being wiped down and sanitized.

I m new to this about gym and fitness and I was looking for a gym center near me so I could start my workout and I remembered a planet fitness close to where I live so I went to see and check the gym. First impressions I like it, like how clean it is, the ambient and the service I got from -Miriam a staff worker there was fantastic as she explained everything clear about the membership and the benefits that I got hype to just start my workout but as some say everything comes with patience but I know where I will spend my workout time, totally recommend this planet fitness and if you re unsure or have questions like Me ask for Miriam and I m sure every other staff there is nice and helpful

The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. I work with the personal trainer Kenneth who has been great helping me reach my fitness goals. He s always challenging me and gives me great dieting tips.

My usual PF was closed due to an emergency so I came to this location. The staff is super amazing. I (being an idiot) was wearing my glasses while on the stair climber and dropped my glasses inside the machine. Two staff members helped to get them out. They were super patient and willing to help me, especially Connor. This location will definitely be my place to go when I can't access my home location. Happy Workouts!

Can never get a good workout in. Either people interrupt you working out (making you loose count) or seniors always sitting at a machine reading a book. Better off going some where else.

Staff is rude, manager extra rude and since I was unsatisfied with the gym I decided to leave had to pay 62 dollars to get out of the contract . Later I find out they still took out a monthly payment even though I already broke contract and they won't give me my money back. The manager told me "too bad." Please go else where.

Good price gym is small they don't have a strong pull up bar is more for people who use weights it's OK but the price is very good

They bait & switch on membership contracts. I SPECIFICALLY told the girl who generated my contract that I wanted the $10 card as I had in another state. Next thing I know, I was signed up for the black card and told that I'd have to pay $40 to downgrade to the $10 membership!!!! Not cool!

I usually go to the planet fitness on 67th ave in hialeah/miami lakes. When I went to this location i was blown away. Seriously in shock of how much better it is compared to mine. I was visiting someone up there and decided to get in a workout and it made me want to switch PF locations. It is pretty big, nice equipment, better quality than mine. The weight area is much bigger. The gym is set up well and it is organized the same. Also, the people who go to this location are very nice and you never feel intimidated. Lastly, the staff is very friendly. Cannot beat this price for what you are getting. I definitely recommend.

Super clean and there are always machines available. My only complaint is there are no fans on the treadmills and the overhead fans are kept on low so it tends to get very hot in here. Love that everyone here is there to work out, no loud phone calls, no gathering around. Great atmosphere.

I am Planet Fitness black card holder from Canada. Used the gym 10 times as a guest. ( The maximum times allowed.) I was told I could change to my US condo address but found out I can not. Since I'm here 5 months of the year I would have to quit my gym in Canada and rejoin down here each year and then cancel when I leave. Inconvenient, however I have concerns about the reviews that state they have been continued to be charged after cancelling their membership. The gym itself is great. Equipment is new, staff was friendly, and I love the bright atmosphere from the windows.

Love this location. It is always clean and the staff are always polite and friendly. Love sessions with the personal trainer, Kenneth Murphy. He is the best part of training at Planet Fitness Plantation. He works with your skill set, is encouraging and knowledgeable about fitness and nutrition. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking to take the first step into fitness and better health.

I would like to start off with my experience of signing up to Planet fitness in plantation was such a pleasant one. The manager Ken was absolutely amazing and helpful, very knowledgeable, and I believe to be a great asset to this gym! I ve never felt more welcomed and comfortable at a gym in my life. Very clean gym, helpful staff and managers care. I've been going to this gym for a little over a year. I don't plan on leaving it anytime soon. Always a pleasure every visit. I never feel uncomfortable.

As a standard gym it gets three stars because they have like a hundred treadmills but only one pull up bar. The equipment is skewed towards one type of gym goer. If your trying g to lose weight and you just want to run and do light lifting this is a good spot but if you want to lift heavy or put on some real mass going here is gonna be a challenge. Get ready to share equipment.

Great place. I feel so comfortable here. But the only thing is that I went to the delray location and they have a better locker room even has a place with a hair dryer. Also the have different equipment.

I ve been going to this location for over four years with so many other gyms within the same Radius I still chose the Plantation location for many reasons. The staff is well trained, and they know the members who come to there location, they are respectful and, the facility is always clean. In the 4 years I have attended the plantation location and I ve been to other planet fitness in other states, plantation has always been the cleanest. Supplies are available / stocked and the staff is always walking around cleaning, wiping down the equipment. I have seen many staff members move on from this location to other locations due to promotions or just a new job but what s more on point, is each time someone else new comes aboard they still remain to stay consistent, family oriented, friendly and trained well to keep the standards. The trainer Kenneth is always greeting members, has health conversations with them, introduces different ways of making the gym life fun and comfortable which makes them want to keep coming back, w/out hesitation he discusses workouts that are helpful for them and their lifestyle. He is very committed, takes pride in what he does, most importantly it s his passion so his professionalism is an access for the business he represents.

Love this gym it's clean the staff is helpful and friendly. The environment is comfortable. I see some people complaining, but let's be honest here we only pay 10 dollars a month. It's a super awesome deal.

I love this planet fitness!! My husband is a silver sneaker member and I am aloud as his guest always. This is the only gym that does this! Leiho is terrific and always remember me when I come in! Stephanie the newest manager is very nice and always takes time to listen!

Noticed that my card was getting charged $36.19 not once but twice in one month. Went to go check on why I was getting charged this extra fee and they had me paying this extra amount and they couldn t tell me why. Then they asked me to go to bank to print out bank statements showing the charge which I thought was kinda rude. Stephanie the shift manager whom was nice but didn t seem to have much power in the situation told me that she would fax over the information and get back to me. Never received a phone call, last week I called to check and she said they would be hearing back today and they would call me. No phone call: another week goes by. I call to talk to Stephanie they say she s busy and she will call me back; no phone call back. Today I call she s not their and no note on my file.

I know it s only $72 but it s the principle. I manage a restaurant if I over charged one of my guests; I wouldn t ask them to go to the bank and print out statements, make them wait for 2 weeks without a refund, and I sure would compensate them for breaking their trust.

Good gym but very poor customer care.

Went there today, it was crowded but still room to have your own space and work out. The trainer named Kenneth was very really energetic and helped me in the 30 min workout room, which was great because I had no idea where to start. This club is further from my house, but I m down to travel.

Very clean, new TV's and very nice and clean equipment. Staff is very helpful. I travel a lot and was able to get a guest pass with zero issues at 4:30 AM this morning. Staff member was awesome. I would recommend this place to anyone.

I rate it a 5 in terms of a straight forward gym. The environment is clean and there's a bunch of great equipment to break a sweat from.

I dislike their marketing practices when they blast loud music in front of other stores in the plaza and I'm greeted to excessive noise while they have 6 employees with absolutely nothing to do just hanging out on their phones and just messing around with each other like it's a party.

For me Planet fitness feels like the ideal place to work out, good location, never too crowded to enjoy your workout!!!!
I joined Planet Fitness the first week you opened and I owe my physical strength and wellness to the present Trainer, Kenneth. He is patient and oh, so encouraging! He has helped me realize that training is a way of life and this has been the best thing that could have happened to

I am now a senior and on furlough and would love to go to the gym daily. I have been away for months and have slowly started working out during the slow periods.
Regrettably, I have had to leave prematurely, as staff and patrons often do not wear their masks correctly. This is dangerous for all, more so me, a senior!!!
When pointed out, the staff is intimidated to address the problem, in the manager s absence.
Spraying is not as frequent as you advertise. This is lapse in safety is a SERIOUS problem for ALL patrons!!!

Please try to have staff more vigilant so we, the patrons, can enjoy your facility!!!

They stole my card and all the money in the women's locker room just in one moment I went to the bathroom

Friendly staff, filthy gym. The floor is absolutely disgusting compared to any other Planet Fitness. Too much cardio (even by Planet Fitness standards) and not even equipment. There is enough hair on the floor and in the corners that they could open a wig shop next door.

The General Manager Kenny Compre, was very Professional. I came to the gym to inquired about an membership and speak with him on the Covid measures that are in place to ensure my safety. I was satisfied was with communication the gentleman had and how he made sure he address all my concerns.

Do I have to wear a mask while working out?



I JUST LEFT THIS GYM BECAUSE A YOUNG LADY ON THIS MORNING SHIFT AT AROUND 9AM WITH BRAIDS TOLD ME I HAVE TO ERAR IT WHILE WORKING OUT. PLEASE TALK TO YOUR EMPLOYEES ABOUT THE MASK POLICY AND NOT ABOUT BEING A FREAKING POLICE. IT'S ANNOYING NOW.

the service is very bad, if you have a problem they don't solve it, they give you bad treatment and they speak to you badly, it's a bad place to be registered

They require a $39 downgrade fee for me to change my membership from $20/month to $10/month (multi location access vs 1-location access)!!!!! They're insane, so I cancelled

Plenty of equipment for everyone. Staff is friendly and helpful, but is constantly eating behind the desk. Usually fried chicken wings.... Not the best thing to smell while working out.

1 star is too many. Horrible customer service. I'll drive out of my way just so I never have to go there again.

I love this gym! It s always clean, hardly ever crowded, and the staff always has a smile on their faces. I personally feel very comfortable working out during this pandemic because they do a remarkable job keeping the gym clean, and they ve got the best personal trainer in south Florida working there, Ken! He s amazing. He s not intimidating, and he s great at seeing where you are physically, listening to what your goals are, and creating a customized workout plan to get you there. I ve been training with Ken for 7 months and let me tell you... ya girl looks like a snack! Seriously. As a woman I ve never received so many compliments on my shoulders, arms, figure and posture. If u need a good trainer with the knowledge and expertise to help you reach your goals, ken is your guy....Thank me later

Planet Fitness Plantation FL is the worst gym I've ever had to deal with. They charged my account 3 times in one month on different days...And when I bought my Bank statement in they did not correct the charges. I would advise anyone that goes there to be careful and watch your account for double and triple payments being deducted from your Bank Account.

The story is I cancel my account at the plantation plant fitness in fl. Since then I am having trouble with planet fitness going to my bank account taken payments. Account was closed in July 2016. Now it is November 2016. I was charged late fees from bank and bills not paid because of this. I hate planet fitness for doing to me. I am always bouncing payments. I have gone to you personally and someone is not doing their job!! Stop going to my accounts.

They said my wife hadn't been there in over 700 days been paying all along had to pay a 100.00 dollar late fee just to cancel garbage If you join this gym you will pay for ever. I will not I will dispute this on my credit card and devote my time to letting people know what thieves this establishment are.

Great place to workout. Machines are wiped down frequently. Place is clean and staff is super friendly. If you have any questions, Coach Kenneth is the guy to ask. He is an amazing trainer whose very helpful and reliable.

So for the pat couple days I ve been having issues with the planet fitness at the Plantation Location in FL. I was trying to cancel in January and the person who helped me said she canceled my membership and the took my membership card . She didn t have me sign anything all she said was she noted my account and that Its cancel. I call back feb 3rd because I was charged $41 I asked why and the lady said it s an annual fee. Told her I canceled the other day. She said no and then rudely said that I signed a contract. Told her no worries I will handle this with my bank. I call back today to the planet fitness and spoke to a gentleman for 15 minutes explaining the issue he seemed so helpful until he placed me on hold for 15 min. Then I hang up.... I call back and speak to a guy name Kenny who was not helpful at all. I told him I just spoke to him and was on hold for 15 min. He said no you must ve spoke to someone else because I just clocked it. So I asked him did the previous person let you know I was on hold. He said no he clocked out and he s the only person in the gym at this moment. I tried explaining to Kenny how unprofessional everyone has been with me for the past few days and no one is helping and he said there is nothing he can do. I asked for the Corp number he said they don t have that information . This is honestly the worst location ever . I don t understand why they won t just cancel my membership . And they are refusing to cancel and help me . So please if you want good customer service DO NOT GO TO THE PLANET FITNESS LOCATION IN PLANTATION FLORIDA IN THE PUBLIX PLAZA ON SUNRISE AND UNIVERSITY DR. They are rude people who refuse to cancel memberships !!

Great place if you want to get on a treadmill or elliptical. Free weights and machines are in shorter supply. Staff is helpful and friendly.

Recently changed over to this PF cause it s close to home, this one is not as nice as other PF s I ve been to, the equipment is worn out and old, I used the assisted pull up machine and nearly fell off because the rubber grips spin when they shouldn t. It also lacks a lot of machines compared to other PF s, It s a bit unorganized (benches all over the place as well as weights, trash is always full when I am there, paper towel dispensers are always jammed) This PF needs an overhaul!!!
