I would give this a zero rating if possible. Would not recommend bringing your child here after seeing some of the concealed unprofessional behavior with staff administration members. We applied one month ahead of time in an effort to transfer our "straight A" student into this school. But we found out the hard way the school did not have the courtesy to review the application until the day of orientation, nor did they call or email us to response to the new student application . Instead, on day of orientation they indicated they are not accepting new 12th grade seniors at this time. Since then I heard many other negative things about this school which I I will not repeat here... I am glad to find there is other better schools in the area accepting straight A students..

Good school, I go there. It is pretty good though they NEED MORE FOUR SQUARE BALLS FOR THE GYM! I would reccomend (How do you spell that?) Mr. Fuller, Mr. Hicks (I think thats how you spell that) and many other teachers. They need to have some sort of bridge over the street for the students tho.

We are extremely grateful to Great Hearts. After attending Rancho Solano Private school, we were a bit scared of entering into a quasi-public school. Their approach to education and citizenship is stricter than many kids are used to, especially after coming from public schools. However, they are molding our children into great people that care about the material that they are discovering. I would liken the students to the kids from the movie, Dead Poets Society, where kids are self-motivated and anxious to understand the nuances of different thought.

I would, however, warn that if you are looking for them to be a babysitter for your misbehaved manner-less child, then you are looking in the wrong place. It is a school where it is "cool" to want to learn and excel. The truth is that not every kid is "Great Hearts" material, nor are all parents. It takes involvement and dedication on all parts.

But, what I would say is most impressive about the Great Hearts Schools in General, and Glendale Prep in Particular, is that when you see them at a sports event, the kids are respectful, polite, and extremely engaging.

Thank You GP for all that you have done for my kids and family!

My daughter and son both attended Glendale Prep from 6th grade - 12th grade. We are forever grateful for the education they received and the teachers that cared and led them in the pursuit of truth, beauty, and goodness. -Silvia Hayakawa

As a student at Glendale Prep, I feel obliged to provide a review on my experience. Glendale Prep not only prepares their students for life as an adult, but the rigorous curriculum builds necessary skills such as problem solving, reading, and formal writing while enforcing a study of the liberal arts that expands your mind to the endless possibilities of philosophy, art, music, and drama. Every students is required to take college-level classes, including a two-period long class called Humane Letters where students dive into classics and seminar on different topics in the book that can be applied to real-life situations. The curriculum also includes the college-level courses that cover the large spectrum of sciences and maths, while also providing in-depth history classes. Middle schoolers are required to take Latin, and high schoolers are given the option between Spanish, French, and Latin/Greek as their language of choice. The community built by the teachers, staff, and students is encouraging and makes everyone feel like they belong to one big family, and, although uniforms are required, individuality is encouraged through the study of art, drama, and music, through numerous extra curricular clubs, and through numerous high-level competing sports teams for both guys and girls.
Overall, I feel lucky to have the opportunity of studying at GP. I m prepared for my life as an adult and don t regret a second of my time spent here. Glendale Prep is amazing, and I strongly encourage families to put their students in this school.

Doesn't get much better, particularly for a mostly free education. Well rounded liberal education, that cultivates thinkers not just doers. Competitive AIA sports throughout school year. Strong community of caring parents. Could easily be one of the top 100 schools in the entire country.

One of my biggest regret was sending my kids to that school! The only thing I liked about that school is the front office staff, but the entire staff/ teachers/ coaches are corrupt, and are on power trip,s these poor kids are constantly Punished/detention for absolutely no reason. And as far as sports is concerned they will only pay attention to those kids that come from money there s definite favoritism only if you have money they will like you.

Do not let your kids go to this school! Big mistake ! I don t know how they all play the lottery system. But my child has been in lottery for 3 years with Great Hearts. Finally a Better public charter school that s in competition and is also in the ranks accepted him immediately . Other students also say that Great Hearts curriculum is outdated. They are missing the boat in today s fast paced technology.

This is a 'Fantastic' advanced College Prep school. My son struggled in a couple of classes but the school faculty was always there to help, tutor and assist in every way and at no additional cost. Overall my son was a B /C grade level student in most classes with D's in 2 classes.

We had to move and I chose the highest academic rated school district in that city. Because of the great job Glendale Prep did with my son, he is now excelling in that school and holds a 3.25 GPA and increasing (recently dropped from 3.5). The teachers were amazed at some of his placement scores.

If you want the best for your children, then enroll them at Glendale Prep... It's a Great School.

Absolutely the worst experience for our children's...

Absolutely the worst experience for our children's education! The Vice Superintendant Mr. Gow is a threat to students with disabilities. He threatened to have me arrested several times. This was after us learning that there school was NOT accommodating our daughters current IEP. He also went so far to penalize us regarding our other children attending the school due to our disability child. There straight A's from here are not straight A's with in the public school district. Please investigate and do your research before allowing your children to attend Mr. Gows schools. Lack of procedural safeguards, civil rights and discrimination should never be encouraged during academic education learning. Very sad situation going on here.
