Inconsistent lately used to be the best pizza around. now it s over priced basic pizza. I heard the guy that used to own it sold it. I m betting they either changed the recipe, starting buying cheaper ingredients or just pay less attention to quality. Bummer

Consistent taste every time! I m obsessed with this place ever since I was young! The young man at the counter tonight does a wonderful job keeping a smile on his face even with customers in store and a phone that doesn t stop ringing..I forgot that they were cash only and when I went to get more cash from my car, the cook from out back came up to the counter and said not to worry about it and gave me my cokes free of charge! Very sweet of them! You guys are legendary!

Always amazing. Make sure that you ask them to cook your pizza in the "old oven". The crust will come out crispy. Also they added an ATM to the lobby which makes it a lot easier to pay since they don't accept credit cards.

Despite its hype, I can't say it's the best pizza I've ever had. The real appeal, in my opinion, is the history of the place. The entire restaurant, from their real neon sign outside, to the dark wooden paneling inside, to the cash-only mandate, feels frozen in time from the 1960s. Good for a occasional nostalgic treat.

I have been getting pizza from here since I was a kid. It still remains one of my favorite pizza places. The crust is always perfectly crispy. Just enough sauce but not too much. My favorite is green pepper and onion. Great flavor in all their pizzas.

The pizza itself is pretty good. However, I don't love the service. If you ask the lady at the front register to split your bill between two people, you'd think you were asking for multiple free pizzas due to the amount of eye rolls you will get.

Great personal pizzas, about two dozen options, PERFECT CRUST!!! Usually ready to pick up in less than half an hour. Can't go wrong... Unless you only have plastic: CASH or CHECK ONLY. Completely worth the ATM fee. :)

Where to start....

Where to start....

My girlfriend has a chronic illness that makes it difficult to get out at times. She was having a bad day, so she went to get an Alex pizza to feel better.

She gets to the shop, and the owner/manager shouts at her that they don't take orders in person, only by phone (she had tried to call multiple times but couldn't get through). She tried to explain but they tossed her out and refused to take her order.

Now, I get trying to prevent Covid. And the 'no orders in person' policy might make some level of sense if they only did curbside pickup. But NO, they require you to come inside and pay in dirty cash for your pizza, which entirely defeats the purpose of this policy.

In addition, when you come inside to pick up the pizza you ordered by phone, they aren't wearing masks! They're breathing in your face as you pay, or in my girlfriend's case while they scream at you to get out.

Reading the other reviews, I found this isn't an isolated incident. They've also done this to a woman who was 36 weeks pregnant and who had her toddler in tow.

Pizza by Alex has an unspeakably stupid and self defeating Covid policy, and they use it to scream at and humiliate disabled and pregnant women. I'll be giving this place a wide berth, and encourage you to do the same.

First time at Pizza By Alex, but it won't be the last. They definitely keep it old school from the cardboard pizza plates to the constant watchful eye to make sure the crust is perfectly baked. Went with a classic cheese pizza, because that's how you compare apples to apples. These apples shine!

This is the "go to" pizza place in Biddeford and surrounding areas. Tried and true pizza making, crispy crust edges, melt in your mouth toppings. New ovens are great but my preference is the "old school" oven. Still served on cardboard plates. Times I lived away, I'd get them half-cooked, freeze them, travel and finish cooking them when I got home. Tasted like I was still at Alex's....

This place is so unique and perfect size pizza. I loved the Greek pizza. It was delicious and crust was fantastic. It may so far be my favorite pizza in Maine. It's a tie between them and kennebunk pizza.
