Visited with a large group, as we do every year. Disappointing visit. They ran out of salad bar options ... and spoons! The food took over an hour to get to the table. Water refilled just once and coffee never refilled. Previous visits over the years were so much better.

Great food, great people and an adorable ambience! The service can be a little slow because they are so busy but the food was fantastic and everyone that works there is so nice. Will definitely be back.

Locals and out of towners, skip this one.

Locals and out of towners, skip this one.

Overall, my wife and I were disappointed. We expected a Southern restaurant,in the middle of downtown, with a lot of history to be much better. Some parts of the meal were amazing. The sideboard with the black eye peas, collards, and bread basket had amazing flavor. However, our entrees were lackluster. My wife's fried chicken didn't taste like it was seasoned very well, and the same can be said about my salmon. Also, my fried green tomatoes and onion rings seemed like they were a bit under cooked. They weren't very crispy or golden brown.
I normally would have said something to my server, but throughout the evening he seemed like he was flustered and overwhelmed. I personally don't think the restaurant was very busy because on a Friday night prior to the Peach Bowl, we were able to be seated without any wait at all. The same went for a party of five who was behind us.
Finally, it's one thing for a place to have charm or look rustic, but overall the restaurant feels a bit dirty. it feels like there's a film on everything and it hasn't been deeply cleaned in a long time.

If my wife and I didn't have a promotional coupon, and if we're staying right across the street, we would not have not stayed. Also based on our experience, we won't be returning or recommending it to friends.

Amazing food! Amazing service. KiKi was our waitress and she knew the menu inside out. Ms. Jean was the hostess "that damn fried chicken"! Scott was the best bartender/manager. The greens and black eyes peas were to die for! Them sweet potatoes, the peach cobbler, the fried chicken, the catfish...were all amazing! I'm speechless! 5 stars! Can't wait to come back to ATL to visit!

Went here in a local recommendation. Cute place, deceptively large, exceptional service but underwhelming main dishes. I've had better fried Chicken at chains like Church's and Chicken Express for the money. Definitely get a desert though, the bread-pudding was...VERY. GOOD.

Simply an amazing restaurant! Make a reservation if possible but they do take walkins and be hungry! The chicken and ribs were melt in your mouth good! Everything on the sideboard was fresh and delicious especially the Chicken Salad.

Save room for dessert and get the peach cobbler! If you can drink get a specialty cocktail, best you will ever have I promise.

I visited back in December of 2019 and honestly I was not pleased with the taste of the food or the presentation. There weren't many people in the restaurant and that should have been a sure sign to turn around. I paid around $30 for two pieces of fried chicken, mashed potatoes, and veggies- all of which were mediocre and not worth the price in my opinion. Also, it was nowhere near authentic soul food... very unfortunate because based off the many reviews, I had high expectations. But I would not recommend this place to anyone...

This is the type of place I would take my California relatives to eat. It is historical and very southern and the perfect cap to an Atlanta tour. It ticks all the boxes of what non-southerners think the south is about. The food was decent(I enjoyed my fried chicken) but the bread pudding was dense and I got an edge piece which was a bit blackened on the edge part:( I would love to bring them a pan of my bread pudding...more custardy. Did I say I love bread pudding?) But if i was just going to dinner with my husband I think Atlanta has many young talented chefs and I want to eat modern southern cuisine. So I will only return to Pittypat's Porch with a Yankee relative who yearns to see the South in an old fashioned way. PS. I have NEVER in all my years in the south eaten pickled watermelon rind. It is on the salad bar and looks like gelatinous pink cubes. But it was very good. It tastes similar to a sweet gherkin. I loved the acid of it cutting though all the creaminess of the salads(remember this place is very old southern so creamy and fried are common on this menu).

This place is a hidden gem, the service and atmosphere was awesome our waiter was funny and very informative about the history of Atlanta. the food was amazing, delicious flavorful southern cooking, the portion size will leave you wanted for nothing. Great food great atmosphere great staff and live music. What more can you ask for. (Get the chicken and ribs combo) you're welcome, thank me later...

I have eaten here several times and the level of service is always amazing. The inside is very nicely decorated to look like a plantation home. The food is high class country cooking which the city people seem to love. The smoked Gouda Mac and cheese is wonderful. The steak is only okay.

Disappointed. Dined here in 76. They ve really gone down hill. Had to get up and find waitstaff for water refills, to get butter to go with initial cornbread, salad bar was so-so, used to serve crayfish, waited over an hour for dinner (to be fair, fun conversation with friends helped distract), had to chase down staff to pay the bill, then had to chase down a pen. You get better fried chicken at the Colonel - breast meat over cooked and so dry it squeaked as it was chewed and chewed and chewed... veg side was ok. Black eyed peas good if you like canned. Generally ranged from appalling to disappointing.

Was staying down the street and in walking to the hotel I passed here then looked it up and it sounded as interesting as it looked) looks like a house from the outside). When you walk in it feels like you are walking into someones house and the place it much bigger than it looks from the outside. Server was very friendly and nice. Had to get the chicken dinner and it did not disappoint. 3 pieces of chicken fried to perfection, moist, great seasoning and coating. Included in the cost of the dinner was a salad bar and a selection of breads

Pittypat's is one of my favorite Southern Comfort restaurants that I bring out my out of town guests to discover. Remember Aunt Pittypat from "Gone with the Wind"? Imagine her in the kitchen whisking out all this food. I love the drinks being served out of canning glasses. Sit a spell on the rocking chairs if you have to wait on a reservation, and while there, "...think about that tomorrow", (as Scarlet O'Hara would have said) and sip some Long Island Iced Tea. Don't forget to try the pickled watermellon at the salad bar...it is the best around. And that cornbread? To die for.... Ambiance and good southern food make an awesome combination. If you stay at the Weston, you can just walk across the street to take in this gem.

I visited Pittypat's Porch several months ago and I'm still talking about the food, so I figured I should probably write a review. I was in Atlanta for a few nights and found Pittypat's on a list of places to eat at and I thought I'd go for it. I'm so glad that I did. The food is amazing and the atmosphere is spectacular. It oozes Southern charm from the minute you step in the front door. If you have the opportunity, eat out on the front porch. It's great for people watching on the street below and gives a nice breeze on a warm day. The food is very Southern and absolutely delicious. You get so much for the price and everything was prepared perfectly. My waiter was very friendly and told me some fun stories about Atlanta. 10/10 would absolutely visit again.

Delicious! I wanted to marry the chicken salad! I ordered the fried chicken, which comes with mashed potatoes, black eyed peas, collard greens and an assortment of breads. Order the mac and cheese as a side, you will thank me later. You will not finish it, the portions are a lot. Good Southern cooking, not to be confused with soul food, but delicious!

So the hostess and greeter at the door were awesome! Very great personalities to welcome people to the restaurant and get everyone seated they did very well even with 3 very large groups. The restaurant looks really cool and we were really excited to try it. Just 2 of us and we waited over an hour to get our food after ordering. We did get a free app for waiting so long for our food that our waitress just brought to us which was nice. The salad bar was disappointing. When we got our food it was not as great as you should expect for the cost. $25 for a pork chop is fine but not when it is way over cooked. Shrimp and grits mediocre at best. We have had great dinning experiences all over the city on our trip and this was the only one that has been disappointing. After we had finished our food we waited another 15mins we had no drinks, no one even came by on the porch to check on us or the other diners and we had to get up and go ask for our check. So we could leave. I m embarrassed for y all.

My husband up & surprised me taking me here. I had been wanting to go for sometime but we re always busy. Our waiter Scott was amazing as was our food. We both had steak it the macaroni & cheese, & mash potatoes are highly recommended. He even made my favorite drink non alcoholic so that can be done just because it isn t listed doesn t mean you can t have it. My only regret was not having room for the dessert I had been looking forward too. Definitely look forward to returning.

Service was excellent especially for a large group. Food was mediocre, oversalted. Crab cakes and salmon were the worst almost inedible. Fried chicken was just ok. Maybe a place best for drinks?

Food was good, not great. Two sides, collard greens and black eyed peas, might have come from a can. There seemed to be no special seasoning or ingredient that is not found in a can of Old Glory. Service was good, very friendly and attentive. I suppose the experience is enhanced if you have a connection to Gone With The Wind. Nothing was bad or wrong, but I don't feel compelled to return.

This place felt like magic as soon as my group stepped in. The atmosphere makes you feel right at home, and that is supported by the staff that truly makes you feel like family. The food is so amazing and makes you feel as if someone made it with love. The portion sizes are also well worth the price. We also got a variety of desserts including the peach cobbler. All of them were so good. Rich, but not overwhelmingly so. Lastly, the matriarch of the place, Miss G made us feel so fantastic, we will all 100% be returning when we re back in ATL. For those of you who had a bad experience, you probably weren t in the right mindset to receive that kind of southern hospitality.

I would nominate this restaurant for Gordon Ramsey's 24 Hours to H*ll and Back... but having eaten there I'd be afraid what I saw would make me sick. I'm over 45 years old and have only sent back three entrees in my life - - two of those were at Pittypat's last night.

The restaurant is very old and dirty; It is the classic catches tourists; the food quite regular, nothing recommendable. The extremely poor service; except for the Latin person who serves the water who is very kind and attentive. Restaurant of blacks and for blacks. Total disception! Not recommended

The service was fair and it went downhill from there. Food is mediocre. We opted to get an appetizer, crawfish dip, and was sorely disappointed. Ilwe counted a total of 5 pieces of crawfish and the rest was made of this creamy tasteless substance. The entree was fried catfish and salmon which came cold and very unappetizing. I have been there before and had better tasting food that time. They are famous for there fried chicken and because im pescatarian, i could not eat this. Maybe if you are a meat eater, you would enjoy this place better.

Good southern food. Fried Green Tomatoes were very good. Very few vegetarian options, only sides and salad bar. Peach cobbler was good, but I think it would be better with vanilla ice cream rather than cinnamon.

Food was not great and the menu said you could share an entree for $9 extra but when we ordered the ribeye our waitress told us that we could not share that particular one. And they couldn't accommodate our group of 18 but we sat beside a huge room with atleast 50 place settings.

The service was SLOW!! The service & food was mediocre. Took one hour to get fried chicken & shrimp n grits. The sides (black eyed peas & collards) came about 5 minutes after recieving our entrees because "they had to warm up".
Ask for a manager and instead they took $10 off my $50 bill.
I will NOT be back.
