I thought the food was good, but way too expensive for my liking. And they charge a $9 fee just to split an entree with someone! It s no use, might as well get your own entree, you re paying the same price. I just think it s a rip off

This place was on our list to eat at because some clients recommended it. To say the least it was a horrible experience.
The food was overpriced and cold.
Not what we expected for $28.00 per plate.

Decent, if overpriced, food. Decent service. Old and outdated decor. Like a really expensive Cracker Barrel. I had the steak and it was decent, not fantastic, and not worth $29. My wife had shrimp and grits and she had to peel the shrimp, what little there were. The salad bar isn't nearly as impressive as other reviews led me to believe. I won't put up a fight if someone really wants to go there, but it won't be my first, or second choice in the future.

Visited here as a Brit who s barely touched southern food before. The service was outstanding and the waiting staff were friendly from beginning to end. The crab cakes, grits and steak were absolutely delicious. I m only here for a few days but I ll definitely be eating here again before I leave. 5/5, outstanding.

This place is like a stubborn aging relative - trying hard to fight time and refusing to admit the damage done.

I remember trips here with family as a child when the food was great and the service perfect. Now, however, the food is inedible and the staff ignores you. Then they shock you with the bill.

Avoid at all costs. There are many places in Atlanta that are better. Aunt Pittypat would be ashamed of this bunch.

The place was okay. We ordered some wings, the peach cobbler, pittypat's pie and the pecan pie. The pecan pie was probably one of the best I've had in my life. It was hot and the pecans were crunchy. The heated pie had these chewy caramelized bits that made it really good. The pittypat's pie was okay it was mostly whipped cream and sugar. The assortment of bread the brought before the meal was pretty nice

Unfortunately the peach cobbler was just a bowl of hot peaches and hardly any cobbler. They also forgot our second order of wings. Lastly the bathroom was awful. You could smell it from the hall.

It was my first time visiting Atlanta. When we travel, my family and I, we want to be exposed to the culture of the town; so, experiencing the food is a major of it. We have had the opportunity to try several places in the heart of Atlanta, however the experience at Pittypat's Porch Restaurant was a blast: the atmosphere was warm and welcoming, the place was clean and tidy, the service was professional the food was great!

Service was amazing. Food, almost perfect. At this price point, surely they can afford a remodel!! The decor, carpet and furniture was dusty, stained, greasy.. just so bizzare for this quality of service and food. I couldn't get over the skanky cracker barrel vibe. The paper fan menu things could go as well. Please drop the low class country schtick!! So many other restaurants have nailed the soul food with style thing, this place could be incredible!!

Overpriced and really not that great in terms of food taste and quality. The Jambalaya was underwhelming, the service was rude and sarcastic, our group had our foods come at very different times, and the overall experience was simply forgettable (except for the bill shock in a bad way).

Pickled watermelon rinds, excellent chicken salad, and the rest of the salad bar would be enough. Add in the fried chicken, pork chops with peanuts and curried sauce, a mint julep, and the ankle breaker and it makes it a place worth going back to.

Great service by Kim who did a super job of taking care of us. Drinks were good but the Mint Julep was overly sweet, black eyed pea appetizer just so-so (I would not order it again). We both had the fried chicken dinner - chicken was excellent, however the greens had way too much salt and the mashed potatoes tasted instant. Good atmosphere, pleasant staff

The servers were extremely polite and inviting, and the service was moderately quick. The food itself was good, not amazing, but very satisfying and filling. It was a bit pricey, however there are a lot of extras that come along with the main meal. Overall was a very nice experience with a nice interior and atmosphere that I have not seen before. Would go again anytime and recommend to anyone who likes southern style food. Was exactly as advertised and even a little more.

Food was good, not great, and plentiful. Entrees come with a salad bar which is full of interesting things like chicken salad, hopping John rice, sweet potato, Cajun macaroni salad, and I guess it varies by day. A little pricey but you do get that salad bar for free.

Wonderful southern cooking, just like I remember it, nothing much has changed. A little pricey for the quantity of food you get but good atmosphere. Strongly recommend reservations as it gets packed.

Good food. Service was pleasant.
They have a "sweet potato chocolate chip muffin" that is just amazing...
But, it just felt like a place tourists are sent to "experience" the local food.
Nothing bad, maybe just a bit unauthentic.

It wasn't nearly as good as it sounded in the menu or as the food looked. It's not a good value compared to nother neighboring restaurants. The salad bar was the good part. Pork chops we're soft and on the thin side and the fried chicken was a little over done. It didn't meet the price asked for for us sorry to say. Service was not focused.

Our most recent experience at Pittypat's Porch was amazing as usual. It has a southern flair with the best fried chicken and mashed potatoes you can get anywhere. They also have yummy rolls, cornbread, and home-style black eyed peas and greens that they serve to the table. The salad bar is unique with many options such as pickled watermelon rinds..."YUMMY!!!!". The service was excellent...we plan to return when we return to Atlanta area. Thank you for a special meal and experience!

First went there in 1992. Was just there during Super Bowl. Went two nights. As great as ever! Ribs and chicken first night. Shrimp and grits the next. Both amazing. Great breads. One muffin had sweet potato filling! The hostess is the nicest person you will ever meet! Server was also great. A must when in Atlanta!

What it lacks in ambiance it makes up for with flavor. The salad bar has several wonderful choices, each more delicious than the last, and all unique. Try at least a bite of everything - you'll thank me later. I got the shrimp and grits and it definitely lived up to the hype. The grits were cheesy and wonderful. However, of all the wonderful flavors we enjoyed, the pecan pie was probably the most surprisingly delicious. I don't normally like pecan pie because it is too syrupy sweet, but this wasn't that way at all!! I have no idea how they make it, all I know is it is the best pecan pie I have ever eaten! I don't live in Atlanta, but we will be sure to come back to Pittypat's Porch whenever we are in town.

Horrible experience. We were in town for a wedding, with the wedding party and this was the worst experience. We were not served at the bar while waiting to be seated. It took over an hour to be seated with a reservation. The server kept forgetting things. The food was horrible. The fried chicken wasn't seasoned. The only thing decent was the salad bar. $175 bill for horrible flavored food which would have been fine if the food was good. The greens were swimming in water - couldn't find the greens. We will never go back!

Went there last night after findning it on Open Table and needing a quick reservation. Was excited about going and took my son and niece. Got there and it smelled great at the entrance. Went downstairs and realized it needed some upgrading. Our waiter, Erik V, had an attitude from the start and acted like he wanted to be someplace else. There was another waiter in the same section who had an upbeat, appreciative demeanor and I wish we could have had him. We had to constantly ask him to refill our drinks, we had to finally get up and get our own takeout bag from the nearby server station because he was too busy flirting with a table with two women. Lastly, and most upsetting, is that he informed us that they were out of black eyed peas that we supposed to come to the table with all dinners. I let that pass but asked if we could have some more collard greens in their place. At first, he said yes so I allowed him to clear off the remaning ones in the bowl but then when my son asked for more greens, he told him that we could not have any to go because our food was already packed up. Here is my issue: I spent nearly $115 on a dinner for three and did not get the benefit of getting everything that I paid for. Erik acted like it was going to cost him something to give us some extra greens. The food was so-so but the chicken tastes good right out the pan. The peach cobbler and chocolate cake left a lot to be desired and the ribs were not that tender. The catfish nuggets were mediocre and I have had much better. The rolls were good but our cornbread was dry. The best things there were the iced tea and the bread pudding. I will not be pack for one reason though: our server. This was the first time in likely a decade that I have not tipped at least 20% on a tab. I gave him 10% (a true gift) and he stood there ready to snatch it before I could even take a photo for my records. Then he went and sulked by the server station as we walked out. I took $5 off his tip for the slow service and flirting instead of getting us a bag, $5 for refusing to give us more greens in place of the black eyed peas that we paid for but did not get, and $5 for the attitude.

The food is amazing. They have the best collard green and I don't even like collards. Prices are high, the decor is really old, and it is is a basement of a parking garage so don't expect fancy but the food is worth it.

What a great place! Gone with the Wind all the way! The food was comfort food....oooh the mac n cheese! The staff took on our 20+ party with style and I enjoyed the history and experience. Tiny issue, the frozen drink I got had the consistency of a snowcone... but the taste was good! Everything else was on point! You gotta see it!

Great staff made an out of towner feel welcome and a part of the family. I had the gumbo and peach pie and both had the taste of home cooking goodness. Next time I'm in Atlanta I'll be coming back to here for both lunch and dinner.

So good!!!! Food was savory, hot, and delicious!! The atmosphere was old south with modern touches. The chicken salad on the sideboard was delicious. The fried green tomatoes and dipping sauce were cooked to perfection. The crab cakes were so flavorful. The grits were perfect. The fried chicken and ribs were great. The batter was seasoned nicely. The basket of warm bread and blueberry muffins were delicious and a nice touch. The hostess was so personable and friendly. The English gentleman who seated us was funny and inviting. Our waiter was nice but seemed like he was def at end of a long day.

This place seemed like it would be fantastic southern cuisine. The building has potential but feels like it could do with a major update. Managment staff was fantastic but the server looked and acted like she hated her job. Food was sub par and menu was misleading. Very disappointing experience.

From the minute I walked in I felt at home again back in Mississippi. The Bartender "Stephanie" was wonderful. Very polite and knows her craft. Once seated the Waiter "Terrance" was attentive and polite. He explained the menu and the took the guess work away. Very well explained. Now on to the food. I had the Chef David's Tara Combo. It came with Fried Chicken, Creamy mashed potatoes and Rack of Ribs. Loved the crispness of the chicken. Could have been season a little better but good even still. The Ribs were tasty and fell off the bone. Mashed potatoes were delightful. They also bring Collard Greens and Black Eye Peas as sides for the table to share. Although both were good, in my opinion, the Black Eye Peas were a little sweet and the Collard Greens could have had a little more "Southern" in them. I don't normally order dessert but I took a chance. I had the Classic Pecan Pie. It came warm with vanilla ice cream and caramel drizzle. Absolutely, amazing. Now to end this review. The hostess "Jean" was funny and polite all the while maintaining a smile.

This was highly recommended by the Concierge at the Hyatt Regency, Atlanta.
It s a few blocks from the hotel so we decided to give it a try. The atmosphere is a 8/10 it has that old Southern charm one might find in old Atlanta. It has stairs leading to the downstairs with a grand entry way and a person playing the Piano.
We are a family of four with an eight year old and a baby, which made it harder as the food is tailored to comfort Southern style recipes. Kids choices are limited and resemble nothing an average kid would want. The food for Adults which included salad bar and bread was just okay. We selected Chef Dave s Special which was ribs and fried Chicken, also they gave potato chips as they were out of fries.
Both Entrees were 30.00 each and we re not worth it nor did they leave anything but wow that was not even memorable. The ribs had little meat and were overcooked and quite frankly KFC has better chicken. My older daughter had Chicken tenders not really like kids chicken tenders and we got the baby a MAC and cheese which was Penne noodles with cheese. We also had two drinks a beer and Peach Margarita and our bill came to 144.00, I about fell on the floor and wanted to cry but we were tired from traveling all day.
So be warned it s expensive and didn t live up to the hype. The service was average but the shock of the bill put things in perspective.
