Came to Piggy's after touring multiple BBQ joints on Yonge. The line up at most other restaurant was honestly ridiculous (45 minutes to 1 hour) so we thought we would try out luck with Piggy's. Ended up waiting only 15 minutes, it was a good start.
I have been to their downtown location before, and I must say I am a great fan. The uptown location is a little different. They offer a much wider range of cuts, and all their portions are meant to serve at least 2 people. A standard portions starts at around $40 (for 2) so you do need to visit with a larger group if you want to try a few cuts.
We ordered the Piggy's Signature Pork Belly. The meat is served with Kim Chi that is meant to be cooked on the grill, it was great!
The location gets brownie points for serving purple rice with your meal (it's my favourite!) though I found the side dishes to be a little sad compared to the downtown location. No baked corn, no egg soup, no pickled veggies. They basically removed all my top picks and opted for salads drenched in salad dressing (sad).
Overall it was a good experience, but if you live downtown I would recommend not to waste your time and sticking to the downtown location instead.
