It was very easy to set up a private room for 20 guests here.
I ordered the lamb and honestly expected more to be the most expensive dish in the place. I loved the pizza.
I really want to like this place. I went here and waited a long time to get food during a lunch break. I believe this is owned by the same owners as Town and Talavas. The food is good so I would recommend overall. Not a cheap place though.
Used to be great place for lunch. Not anymore as they dramatically changed their menu and it's close to nothing to select if you want to eat something healthy. Will not go there anymore.
Nice..A cream sauce would have added a dreamy taste to squash ravioli, rather than basil.
Will try again some other time ... great bread and olive oil dip. Warm spinach salad a hit, Caesar just passable. Ribs a little dry. Good coleslaw. Ricotta gnocchi pillowy, unique - but truffle with it not to my taste. Nice interior. Good for groups.
Very nice place and they have a wonderful children's menu. Took my girls there for father-daughter dance and we had a blast.
The appetizers were decent but the pizza was so soggy in the middle and burnt on the outside! The service was awful! Our waiter was super rude and scoffed when I ask for more water.
Food is great. Risotto was amazing and so was the lamb
Met up with three girlfriends for big 60 Birthday for two of us and another had a Birthday,we enjoyed their wonderful lunch specials, view to side walk, open air window.
I really enjoyed the quinoa salad with seared tuna.
Created by a real service first genius cum creator of great restaurants(this is his 4th?) this place rocks.I think it is the successful fusion of atmosphere, decor, food, and service. This restaurant is truly the best casual elegant dining venue South of SF .
Went with a group on a Sunday. The food was delicious; the service was terrible. The goat cheese mousse appetizer is tasty as was the rigatoni. But our waiter was completely inattentive. We waited for him to take our order, he did not ask if we needed anything while we were eating - he didn't even check on our drinks. He would disappear from the floor for some time and then he assumed we wanted dessert by, not asking, and just bringing the dessert menu. I dont even know why we had a waiter to begin with - I could have just got the food/drinks myself. It was just such lazy service. We won't return.
Pretty good and nice atmosphere. Good wine list and excellent risotto. I recommend going on a nice day to sit outside...that was a treat to enjoy good food while people watching.
Reasonable price. Good food. Good service.
Protip: The jelly/nutella filled doughnuts are awesome. But don't overdo it. I lost self-control and had 3 of them. Definitely regretted it 3 hours later.
like the bar here. not so fancy as town. stronger drinks. good food.
Nice food, great cocktails, cool ambience with nice outdoor seating option.
The steak and eggs was excellent. Great service. They sometimes have a guy playing guitar and singing who is very enjoyable to hear.
The new menu has very few vegetarian choices. Not a great place for vegetarians. Otherwise out is good.
This is my daughter's favorite restaurant and I can see why. We had lunch there a couple of times although I live in Gilroy and she lives in Millbrae. Her favorite is their mussels appetizer. Their salads are also great!
Nice place. Friendly Staff. Good Food. Great Environment.
Great food, great variety, and excellent service. You must have the tiramisu!
What a great place! Super friendly staff and the food and drink to match! Love the happy hour menu!
Had a wonderful brunch Sunday April 2. Chef Larry Keck stopped by our table and was delightful!! A favorite place with wonderful food, service and ambiance
Appalling service, got the orders all wrong. Tiny portions and the bill was still $1000. No excuse...with a mandatory 20% tip.
Fairly congested for a group of 30. I got a different dish than ordered. Fair paint nite location
We had Mother's day Brunch. The restaurant was very busy due to being Mother's day. I thought the brunch was mediocre and over priced.
Steak over done and waiter disappeared during dinner.
Absolutely phenomenal food, service and ambiance. Great venue for a corporate group dinner or a romantic evening for two. Highly recommend. Chartrand rated is 10X better than Zagat.
Great location, wonderful service staff, delicious variety of food with optimal portion sizes, vegan & gluten free options, or you can just opt for bar service only.
The live bands are excellent and the nice sized dance floor invites you to enjoy yourself.
Diverse customer base. Private rooms available for small and large sized groups or parties. Outdoor dining with outdoor heating for those chilly nights.
Pet friendly with outdoor dining.
I am a repeat customer for lunch, dinner and private parties. I enjoyed myself on all occasions and without hesitation recommend this establishment for your dining experience.
Parking is limited to street parking. There are a few nearby public parking lots, but these fill up quick, especially on the weekends, so if you are dining with a large group try to carpool. Enjoy your meal.
Very below average food. Undercooked grilled shrimp appetizer, overcooked halibut entree, risotto that seems like rice was added to cheese instead of the other way around. For the prices they charge, very disappointing food.
Good food. A little pricey for the quantity. I suppose you are paying for that Downtown San Carlos atmosphere :)
(Updated) - At my most recent visit, they had another new menu; super disappointed that they dropped the gluten-free and vegan labels.
Had so many great meals here over the last 20+ years. Consistently high quality food and experience - dinner for 2, family brunch, or business lunch. Sit outside if you get the chance. They are pet friendly too.
Great food and good service! I would certainly come back!
We are long time customers. We go there almost every weekend for brunch. We like it there because it is open and bright. This gives it a cheerful and happy atmosphere. We like the decor. The food for brunch is excellent. We get the salmon hash, eggs Benedict, and the kids steak. I also really like the French toast. The service is reasonably good, but sometimes slow. We've been to many places for brunch in this area, but time and time again we go back to Piacere because it is still our favorite. We often think that they deserve more business.
Nice looking place and ok service, but the food isn't special. Burgers were dry. Pizza had poor crust and flavor.
Excellent food and ambiance. Coffee not that great. Good wine selection.
Good drinks, wonderful bartenders, good food good ambience.. live music on the weekends..
Fantastic mixology. Try the hot mess. Or peartini . great service and management. Like family .If you have an excellent palat GO . Award winning food ..great music . perfect place for great food and spirits
Good atmosphere. Prices are a bit high, but expected being in San Carlos. Food and drink were good, and the service was the best part
great music...they have some service issues.
also...deep six the all deep fried menu. Ugh
Came back from my first visit to stop in for a drink and had a nice time. Cocktails are well made, though the band is always overly loud for those wanting to sit at the bar and have a conversation.
Plain, under flavored, and very bland tasting menu. We tried a bit of everything and can say with confidence that nothing stood out. We should have we t with of first choice of restaurant across the street. Very awkward wait staff also. When I was making a reservation the hostess was almost surprised I called to make one. I should have known then.
The muscles are fantastic! They are served in a sizzling iron skillet. The Peach salad is one of a kind! a signature dish and must have! I had the clam linguine and my friend had the grilled salmon. Both excellent! We were there on a Friday night and there was a great band for after dinner fun! A 5 star experience! I am planning to return next Friday! Thankyou Piacere!
Good food. Good bands some nights. The menu is a bit pricey, but not too bad. Some older crowd and then younger yuppy crowd later in the evening. Lots of drunk yuppies the night I was there.
We had Piacere cater a dinner party at our house. It was my first catering experience. The chef planned the menu, brought the prepared ingredients and cooked the food at my home. A server came with the chef to set the table with their table cloth and dinnerware, and serve the food freshly cooked one course at a time, just like at the restaurant. We had amouse bouche , roasted butternut squash soup, grilled eggplant and zucchini, braised short ribs, seared scallops, and roasted ginger crisp apple. The food was most excellent. We were all very happy with it. The service was excellent as well. They even cleaned up the kitchen afterwards. It was a great experience and I will use them for catering again in the future.
We love to go here to share small plates, salads, sides, pizzas, and wine for a tapas-style dinner. Don't miss the corn cakes in summer and warm cookies for dessert! Also love Chef Miriam's farmers' market challenge on Thursday evenings and Sunday brunch.
Two couples and my wife and I where there for dinner on August 7 2017. The ambiance of the restaurant is very nice.
I ordered Spinach Ravioli which were different but very good. My wife ordered a Hamburger medium on a Brioche Bun with no cheese.
The hamburger was well done and the Brioche was burnt with leftover cheese on it. No good!
One of the lady friend ordered Rigatoni Pasta. It was the wrong pasta type and under cooked, not even al dente! No good!
The pasta from her husband was very bland.
For dessert we ordered the Bred Pudding witch was very dry.
The waiter was friendly but made a mistake with the tree credit cards. I was charged twice! First called the Restaurant and explained the situation and to my surprise they where very unprofessional.
They told me we will look into the my situation and call me in one week. I never got a call back. I found out my friend got no charge and my card was swiped two times. Yes I know we should always check the Signature slip but there is no excuse for me,
VERY UNPROFESSIONAL.
Their food is good, but their service..... as nice of a place this is, their service sucks. I've learned to just sit at the bar, it's better. Used to be no corkage fee on Monday, not sure if they still have it, but they wouldn't let me use a Groupon and have no corkage one Monday. Normally just go to Town across the street, wayyyyyy better.
I like the food, the decoration, the atmosphere and that they had live music. I have been there for lunch and dinner.
We love this place. Very tasty food and amazing live music.
Friendly staff and good service! Scheduling was super easy, the technicians arrived on time and did an amazing job removing all the stains from our carpet. Highly recommended company.
Nice. Lounge band is always entertaining but can be a bit loud if u want to chat.
A very nice evening. A hidden gem. Will return 4 sure.
Eventhouh we had reservations for 7:30 we were given a table by the bar, dinner was not served until 9 pm only after complaining of the slow service. The food was not adequate. For the price and we refused it.... Bottom line Our perfect valentines date was ruined by the slow service and inadequate attention. We ate our dinner across the street at Town Restaurant. We had a completely different and enjoyable experience. They we're accommodating and attentive.
Went there because we couldn't get into Town Rest. we were hopeful the best part was the food was tasty , the bad part was they were disorganized forgot orders served appetizers after the salads under cooked filet (how bad could it be:-) and the head chef didn't know the Desert menu offerings, and said a printer error any way they were good for it took off a whole meal and a desert that was good we still tipped the waiter good he was nice so was the chef dinner for 3 no booze $200+ before tip not a value at that price point from an experience point
Sub par food. Tasted like I made it myself. Not good.
Drinks were good, not much else--not worth the $170 we spent on four people. There were three parties totalling maybe twelve people in the entire restaurant--they were not busy, and our food took at least 40 minutes to come out. The gratin potatoes came out uncooked, and the service was... uninterested would be the best way to put it.
The Mussels + we order are cooked in Iron Skillet flavored with Sea Salt and Butter. A great idea is delivered underwhelming. It's too dry. Prawn BLT is sandwiched with grilled marinated Shrimp, bacon, garlic aioli and toasted Focaccia. Again, another great concept but overall, the texture and taste present it as mediocre.
