Phil and his son Nick have been in business for years. Sales reps at places like Guitar Center simply do not come close to possessing the knowledge and experience that the people at Uhlik Music can offer. If you do business with Uhlik, they remember your name, they will learn what you like, and they will help you find what works for you without pressuring you into buying something. Great people, dedicated staff, excellent inventory. Give them your business and shop local.

Stopped in with a wiring problem on my DIY pots & pickup upgrade on my Les Paul. Phil's guitar Tech diagnosed and repaired it in about 10 minutes! Had a blast talking with Phil and Jeff. Highly recommend this gem of a music store. Has a few older electric guitars for sale that I need to have! Looking forward to visiting again!!

Uhlik Music has been in Wichita since I can remember. They have a large selection of new and used electric guitars, acoustic guitars, amplifiers, effects pedals, sound equipment, keyboards, and music accessories.

Phil Uhlik is usually in the store ready to greet you with a smile along with his friendly staff. They are quick to ask what you need help with - yet they will leave you alone to explore the store and pick a guitar from their walls for a little jam session.

I bought my first guitar from Uhlik music back in 1997 and continue to shop there today. Man I miss that guitar. Unfortunately I drove off with the guitar on top of my car roof and that was the end of that. Dohhh!

They are located across from East High school off of Douglas and right across the street from Midwest Drum and Percussion. This area is a happening spot for music!

Don't buy into the big box stores. Support your local music shop. These people truly care about making Wichita a vibrant community known for its love for music.

Phil Uhlic music truly go above and beyond to make sure you are happy with your next music instrument purchase.

I sooooo wish I could give a good review of this place. I dropped my guitar off on a Monday to be looked at for high action, intonation issues, and a buzzing under by saddle. I was told that it would be looked at that day. I have weekend obligations and need my guitar on weekends, so I wanted to make sure I didn t lose it over that time. They stated it would be no problem to take care of that.

I never received a call that told me anything contrary, so I waited until Tuesday to check in. I understand, things happen.

On Tuesday I was told the same thing. It would be looked at that day and I would get a call later. Nothing that day.

I then decided to be gracious and wait till Friday. After getting NO calls, I was told that the luthier was going to be out sick and had to leave early on Friday.

Completely ridiculous. I m sure they do good work, but when you make a promise to a customer and you re no longer able to fulfill it, you need to communicate that. Just unprofessional in every regard.

Best music store around! First time I visited the store I was with my dad about 30 years ago. Still shop there today and choose it over the big box guitar stores. Customer service and quality is top notch and the employees actually know what they are talking about!

Phil and all of his team are awesome. We've purchased an acoustic guitar, guitar case, music stand, guitar stand, picks, tuner and lesson book that works for my daughter's entry into playing . Randy Fields is her guitar instructor who teaches out of Uhlik and we love him!

My wife and I had just finished up hitting the coffee shop (Reverie Roasters) across the street based upon the excellent recommendation of a friend.

Our next planned stop was Guitar Center to buy my wife a ukulele (although she didn't know I was also planning on getting her an upgrade to her first guitar as she had reached the point where it was limiting her progression). When we saw the sign across the street we Googled it and saw all of the great reviews and decided to give it a shot. Boy were we glad we did.

Phil greeted us and got us started. Since we were looking at acoustic electric guitars and he felt Justin was more familiar with the controls on the pre-amp he asked Justin to help us the rest of the time.

Both Phil and Justin were great. Neither my wife or I appreciate pushy salesman but we also recognize our limited knowledge and want to be able to ask questions and get knowledgeable answers. They were both the perfect mix of letting us do our thing but being very available for questions. They didn't try to talk us into anything, just did their best to educate us.

They let us play A LOT. We probably tried most of the acoustic electric guitars, most of the ukeleles, all of the mandolins and some of the banjos. In the end we decided on a great sounding acoustic electric guitar, a really nice ukelele and a really nice mandolin.

After all of that they threw in some nice extras like guitar and ukelele strings, a guitar strap and so on. They have a luthier as well and he checked everything over while we went to eat just to make sure nothing needed any tweaking (included in purchase price)

Price was competitive with what we found on the internet and after the extras was better than what we found on the internet.

All in all it was a really fantastic experience. I would recommend them to anyone.

I was looking for guitar shops in Wichita.Based on the reviews I decided to try Uhlik's shop. We live 70 miles from town , so it is important and paramount that we get good customer service. We were greeted by Justin and Scott, who immediately took care of our needs. The shop is a corner stone in the community and I got excellent service. I choose their shop over big box shops, because I am supporting local business and I got superior customer service unlike the big box shop, where we felt like a number. Thank you and see you next time.

I bought a Suzuki Overdrive harmonica here. The staff were friendly, I chatted with an older guy I took to be Phil? But didn't get his name. He was friendly and made me want to move to the area. Showed me around his accordions (I also play). They've got some great gear at good prices, including 5-string resonator banjos, vintage things on consignment, and unusual guitar amps. I love this shop. Old school, hallelujah. Please shop here!

Winter weather and low humidity beat up on my acoustic s neck. Took it in, was checking it in, and Nick took a look, tweaked the truss rod, and gave it back, gratis. It was all of 2 minutes. I bought a humidifier, and picked up a card for guitar lessons. Just finished my first lesson with Randy Fields, there at the office. Great place. Customer for life.

I recently purchased a guitar and amp from them for my son for Christmas. I have zero knowledge on this but the staff was super helpful and gave me some great tips. I felt like they truly cared about how my money was spent there. I can't wait till Christmas comes to see my son's reaction!

I have never been to Phil Uhlik music store before as I am not musically inclined. My wifes guitar needed a strap button added to the neck. I stopped in to buy a button to install myself. I was greeted kindly and immediately shown what I needed. I spent less than 3 bucks and was headed on my way when I was asked if I knew how and where it needed to be installed. Never pass up advice from a pro. He spent 5 minutes showing and explaining how I could successfully install the strap button. He was just genuinely wanting a customer to be happy. $3.00 or $3,000.00 didn't matter just wanted a happy customer. Well you have one and anything needed in the future will come from your store.
