Stay away from their ER. My 2 year boy had a small cut on his eyebrow area(around 10 pm). Took him the ER. They put some medical glue over the cut. Was out of there in 45 mins. The bill came out $1900. If it s not an absolute emergency don t go there!

Fiance went to emergency room with swollen jaw and lots of pain. Bp at time of arrival was 140/170 she was made to sit and wait for over 2 hours while nurses chased children to be seen that showed up afterwards. That apparently was no worse for the wear. Other people had to be tracked down to get therm in the back while my fiance was sitting in pain. This is insane and stupid. Er personnel is not a day care for children. Honestly what kind of care givers does this hospital employ? apparently good judgement is not required. Frankly a trained Monkey could provide better health care than the emergency rum staff right.

No complaints with Dr Dan & Dr Potters offices! My complaints lie with the astronomical prices the hospital charges for their testing! No need for them to be this expensive! An example of this... I needed 2 blood draws, hospital prices were going to be almost $600 for them, I got them done at the Health dept for $12.36! No need for the absorbant costs there. Some of the highest in the state! I will never get a test done here again! And don't get me started on the billing dept...ugh ! Bills getting turned over to collection's while you are making payments or not being filed in time with insurance. Look very closely at your bills or ask for itemized bills! Find another hospital if you don't want to be ripped off !!! Expensive! Expensive! Expensive!

Billing department is an absolute nightmare to deal with. Every single time I call they are experience "higher than normal call volumes." It almost makes me think they don't have enough people to handle the calls. They say that you can leave a message and receive a call up to 48 hours later. I have been trying to get an itemized copy of all of my family's medical bills, and was told they would be sent to me over 2 weeks ago via mail. Still have not recieved them and can NOT get them on the phone. Absolutely ridiculous.

By far the worst hospital ever don't bring your children here. Don't deliver here. IF YOU HAVE AN OUNCE OF SENSE AVOID THIS PLACE LIKE THE BLACK PLAGUE. This place makes doctors and nurses look disgusting and money hungry. Very rude, degrading, condescending, be littleing you name it. If you question there "diagnoses" that is when the attitude pulls in. HORRIBLE PLACE.

Edit: Thought they were out of my life but yet they strike again. Had an outstanding balance from over 5 years ago that I never knew about. No call, no email, and no billed mailed to me. This was for less than $50 so if they had just contacted me it would have been taken care of right then. Instead, years later, I received a call from a debt collector about it. I was able to call the hospital and take care of it right away, but should not have been on that position from the start.

Original post: ER doc wrote on my report that my sciatica was just a back spasm so I had to fight with insurance for about 6 months to get the error corrected. Next time you are in such pain you can't physically move. Save your time and go to a hospital in St. Louis or Columbia.

Phelps Health offers a variety of services to meet any of the communities needs. They are a great company to work for as well.

There is nothing about the place that represents an "Emergency Room". We have been waiting for over an hour just to be taken back to an ER room. Is there only two people working here?? The entrance staff that took the vitals was totally inappropriate making comments about where some of the doctors got their degrees. I think maybe all individuals who work here should be mandated to benchmark and work in a trama emergency room for a few months to get a clue. No wonder the overall rating is currently 1.7. Get with the times Phelps, totally sub-par!!!

I was bitten by a copperhead and went directly to Phelps Health for treatment. Even though the staff was unfamiliar with snakebite, they immediately consulted experts and did everything absolutely right. My care was solid and professional. I feel grateful the the ER doctors were willing to seek and accept outside advice, and follow the proper protocols. However, the bills have not yet come in!

I was just in the ER this last Sunday. They were very busy and when I got a room, I was concerned about the care I was going to get... Fortunately my amazing nurse, Kayle (sp), came to aide and another nurse, apologize for not remembering your name, did a great job taking care of me! Also, all the techs were terrific, especially the bald guy, again I apologize for not remembering your name. Thank you all! Great Job!

I have worked here several times in the last 10 years. I love it. They treat their patients very well. They also treat the workers well, the pay is very good for my line of work, the benefits are quite nice, and they have several reward systems in place for employees who go above and beyond. I also appreciate that they have an exit interview system in which the employee may state what they would or would not change about the facility, showing that they know there is always room for improvement.

Always great care and friendly staff and nurses. I'm usually seen in a timely manner, but with the pandemic CoVid-19 they are very busy and overwhelmed. The flow is cautious and slow because of sanitation and procedures to protect themselves and the patients. Normalcy is not the same anymore, but I appreciate their precautions.

Very disorganized. Doesn't seem to be any communication between various doctors or departments. I was new to the area and agreed to get a minor surgery done but I'll find another place next time even if it means driving some distance.

Update: I did call in to discuss my experience before posting this review. The gentleman was polite and listened to my concerns; however, I have no confidence anything will change. I also received my bill after posting the initial review and I almost had a heart attack when I saw how outrageous the charges were. These people have no conscious or shame in screwing people over. I could have a serious accident at the entrance to their parking lot and I'd demand to be taken elsewhere if conscious enough to speak. I am surprised they have a 1.7 Google rating at this time. That is pathetic but way too high.

Update: I find it interesting that the recent reviews say almost nothing but are all five stars. One even says she's an employee. That's not a conflict now is it? Here's a suggestion to get your scores up Phelps, do a better job taking care of sick people. It isn't that hard, hospitals and clinics all over the country do it every day.

The doctors are quite good but a few of the nurses are very rude and condescending. My mom has severe rheumatoid arthritis in her hands, legs and feet. She had to have a toe removed along with the bone connected to the toe and abscesses removed from the bottom of her foot. She's on IV's and a wound vac. The nurses make her feel like a burden because she needs help getting up to use the restroom etc. Everyone on the second floor of the south tower is a high fall risk, need I say. If my mom could get up and do things on her own she wouldn't need nearly two weeks of therapy. They push her a bit too hard. I've watched my mom crying hysterically from her pain at home before this surgery. It was basically emergency surgery because she had a severe bone infection and the doctor at rolla Mercy clinic sent her back home and said he would see her in two weeks. Ha! She wasn't going to make it two weeks without nearly losing her foot or leg. The nurses at the hospital were saying "you have to push up." "We're not here to lift you." Okay.. if my mom could put pressure on her surgery foot and if she didn't have R.A maybe she could. Her hands have IV's stuck in them and her hands are very arthritic. My mom needed to use the restroom and the nurse asked her if she could wait until after she was done eating and my mom couldn't but the nurse wasn't too willingly to help so my mom said "I guess." She ended up going on herself because the nurses are too lazy to come and help until it's too late. Now this isn't all the nurses, there's a max of 3 of them but I don't know their names. I'm stressed out enough, stop trying to downplay my mom's pain and make her feel like a burden. My mom also has depression and anxiety. This is ridiculous.

I came into this hospital 3/6/2018 @ 1:00pm. For peeing blood and black in so much pain in my kidneys and it is now 5:15 pm and only got my Vidal's checked and still in pain. I do not recommend anyone to this hospital and this is the hospital my daughter was born in.

My best friend and I were brought in by ambulance ...

My best friend and I were brought in by ambulance from a bad motor vehicle accident last Monday. We were put into the WAITING room for FIVE AND A HALF HOURS before taken to an exam room. My best friend's vitals were checked ONCE in that whole time and they were not in the normal range. Not only is my friend diabetic and was in severe pain, we both shed broken glass all over that emergency waiting room. When she was finally wheeled back, the staff member said, "Sorry about your wait, people in ambulances take priority." I said, "REALLY? Cuz that's how we got here, 5 hours ago!" We spent over ten hours there, constantly getting bumped because their triage doesn't understand what they're doing!!! Please, God, never let me wreck near Rolla again!

Mom was brought to the Emergency Room after a fall. It was determined that she had broken her hip. Dr Potter was on call and came in to place three pins in her hip. The care Mom received in the Emergency Room, Surgical Services, Med/Surg floor and Rehab floors was exceptional. Mom is now back in own home and thriving. OH! Phelps Health Home Care provided ongoing care after her discharge. The nurses and aides were just fantastic!! am so grateful that we have such a wonderful facility so close to home.

I recently visited the obgyn. I met with Dr. Pennycook I was very unhappy with my visit she barely made eye contact with me. She informed me that I needed to get my TDAP and measured my belly and checked babys heart rate, her phone started to ring and she answerd it gave me a baby wipe to wipe off the gel. And she opened the door to leave as I was still laying on the table wiping my belly off. She turns around and tells me I'm good to go. I wasnt givin my Tdap and after my experience today will be switching drs.

The most incompetent ER in the state. My Neuro warned me about this place a few years back and told me I needed to stay as far away from it as possible. He was right.98 percent of the doctors are rent a docs and that should say a lot there. Bedside manner in this ER is about as pleasant and professional as the county coroners office. The motto of this place is, World Class Health Care, Close To Home, well, my advice is to travel as far away from this place as you possibly can. Lots of HIPPA rules broken all day long and the staff seems to enjoy making fun of patients here as well. Rude, condescending and arrogant bunch working in this place. They need reported in so many areas. Stay away unless you have no other choice.

I just want to say this hospital should be shut down. If u wanna live dont go there. Worst of the worst as far as doctors and nurses. Their doctors can't even do a simple gall bladder removal without almost killing that person. Very scary and I strongly urge people to go to another hospital if possible. They don't even deserve the one star but have to to leave a review.

ABSOLUTELY HORRENDOUS!!! My mother came from another hospital because of a possible blood clot and the lady in the front typed it in her computer as "leg pain" we arrived at 4:48 and it's now 7:00pm and nothing. (It's now 8:03)

We received EXCELLENT care for my 6 month old nephew here. The staff took such fantastic care of our little buddy and us. I can not say enough good things about the staff here at Phelps pediatrics. I am very thankful for all they have done for us.

We were here in the emergency room and pediatrics department for 4 days.

I have had to use hospital services several times ...

I have had to use hospital services several times over the past 15 years. Unfortunately, this hospital seems to be getting worse in their treatment of patients, fraudulent billing practices, and hiring choices. Locally, they are known as either "Phleps Death" or "Phelps County Regional Mortuary." There are several amazing nurses and technicians employed there, but they are over shadowed by the staff who consistently show disregard for patient well-being, and a large, bureaucratic system which focuses only on dollar signs.

I have chronic illnesses and travel 2 hours to Columbia or Wash U in St Louis to avoid the care at PCRMC. It's sad that we have this huge, expensive hospital right here that I don't feel I'm safe in. Several disciplines are missing in Rolla simply because they can't get or keep medical staff. There are no rheumatologists here. Many fields there is only one practicing physician. Every office I've encountered is so overly packed with patients that it takes weeks to months to actually be seen. This, you would think, is a sign of greatness. It's not. It's a symptom of having little to no competition in a very large swath of central Missouri, and the mass exodus of doctors from Phelps.

I hope Phelps starts hearing what people are saying. Stop being in the business of making money at the expense of the community's health. Start taking care of your patients. Start treating your doctors well enough that they want to be here and stay here.

My son was admitted to PCRMC ER for seizure situation. Told medical staff he could not have benzodiazepines, however, KEPPRA is a safe alternative. Medical staff gave him benzodiazepines intravenously against his will. Medical notes state exactly this. Side effects took hold. He left hospital to go to springfield for better care. Never made it. He was arrested and confined for a month in the local jail for anger issues that were out of his control due to side effects from medication. PCRMC refuses to correct matters. State treatment was 'appropriate.' They endangered his life without remorse.

OBGYN told me to come in and get an ultrasound for profuse bleeding and severe cramps. I sat in the ER for THREE hours. I got into the back to sit for THREE more hours. Got a pelvic done and was told to GO HOME and he REFUSED to do the ultrasound the OBGYN wanted. This hospital isn t worth the paper the bill is printed on.

Charged $8,000 for a 2 hour visit to the ER. This is outside of any reasonable bounds. After our visit we received a letter in the mail stating the balance due. They did not include an itemized bill justifying the charges, how much insurance paid on the account or any other details. I called the billing department and they have been rude and inflexible.

Buyer beware. I'd choose somewhere else if you can.

I delivered my baby here in March & the experience was horrible. Dr. Hardden was absolute trash & his bedside manner was nonexistent. 5 months later we are still receiving astronomical bills from this hospital. The cost to deliver a child there is insane and it's like they got ahold of our insurance information & went wild!

My daughter went to the ER with very high blood sugar. They kept her waiting in the waiting room. She was incoherent and dizzy. I don't believe she received the care she should have. Not even close! This place is a joke. It's a shame they're the only hospital close to where we live. I'd give them zero stars if I could.

If I could give a zero rating I would. Highly recommend going ANY where else. ER is worthless both in treatment, diagnoses, and will charge double for less care than any other facility around. I now really understand why they have their reputation that they do with both the public and with other professionals in the medical field.

The billing department is not only rude but unhelpful. After paying my CoPay at the Dr. s office for a visit I did not even owe a CoPay for I received a refund of the CoPay minus a balance I knew nothing of from three years ago. When I called the biller told me that the balance due was from three years ago and they do not send out bills for less then $9:99. ?? Totally confusing, no explanation on the refund letter. Very unprofessional as always!

I gave birth to a beautiful baby girl on August 10, 2019. I had given birth in Dallas Texas and in Austin Texas. This child was my last child to complete my family. I had the best epidural. Fantastic delivery nurses , and an excellent team of baby nurses and a top rate pediatrician & a very handsome OBGYN.

I can't say enough kind things about the staff who cared for me and my family. My baby stayed the night, one evening, after I was discharged to treat her jaundice. It is such a good feeling to walk out of a hospital with your new baby and not be traumatized by poor medical care. This was not the case. I was treated like a movie star and my baby was well taken care of. I can not thank you all enough . I had a great birth with lots of medical interventions and not once did I ever feel anxious or scared.

Love you all!
