They were so open to my style of teaching and to trying something new. they made me sad leaving but there is so much potential in one studio then I have ever witnessed. I cant wait to come back

Miller Street Dance Academy is the studio that goes above and beyond for their students. From the owner, to the teachers to the office staff - they genuinely care about what they are doing and the impact that they have on their students and community.

Good to see one or two real reviews and now mine. My daughter competed on the dance team at this location. Let's just say she was not one of the teachers favorites not because of anything she did. It was a horrible experience. Other dancers were nice but the dynamics was terrible. The two teachers who taught her most were biased and favored particular kids. The favorite students got the best choreography and got more practice. Teachers "J" called students in class as being better than everyone else and had the nerve to say this in class multiple times. I don't care who you are that is unprofessional. Way to pump up the dancers J. The same students get featured again and again. That would be teacher S given the same dancers more privilege when my child could do some of those things she was never given a chance. Competitions were either horrible and disorganized or impossible to compete against. We are no longer at this studio for these reasons and more. Find another studio. Plenty of good ones out there where your child can shine and won't feel like she can't ever measure up based on what two overworked teachers say. Other places with better teachers. My daughter is doing tricks after three weeks at another local studio. I hope she competes against Miller Street next year so I can see the looks on the teachers faces. She's gettin better and better now that she's treated fair.

My daughter has been attending MSDA Baxter since she was 1 1/2 in the mommy and me class. She has taken the combo classes, tumble, hip hop, and is now in the performance company taking jazz/tap choreography and technique classes. She also is taking ballet, acro, and lyrical. I am so impressed with how professional and courteous, the manager, Ms. Shae is. She goes above and beyond for all the families. The teachers are highly skilled and extremely passionate about dance. Ms. Jessica, the performance company director, is fun, energetic caring, knowledgeable, and an excellent communicator. We love the family environment created by her and all of the outstanding dance teachers. MSDA is known around the area for technique, but also the work they do with teaching the girls respect for each other and themselves. Costumes and dances are age appropriate. The studio also does many service projects, including dancer led projects. Their tuition fees are reasonable as well. MSDA has made it possible for the dancers to participate during the pandemic with videotaped classes and Zoom classes. Dancers were also able to perform in their classes and recitals in a safe manner. They didn't miss a beat!

This is my daughter's first time dancing at this studio after taking a few years off (she is 8). She is taking tap then hip hop funk and I cant't say enough amazing things about her teacher. She leaves every class so excited for the next. The dance routines she shows me at home are amazing! The staff is all so very friendly and they are very organized.

We LOVE MSDA!! We're in the mommy & me class with Miss Cindy - my 2yo loves her! It's such a great way to introduce little ones to dance, music, creativity, & other children in a safe & encouraging environment. I appreciate how well MSDA implements CDC guidelines, which is the only reason we feel safe attending right now. They require masks, take temps at the door, and keep the kids very spread out - we each have our own mat / area that we must stay in. Highly recommend!

I rarely take the time to write reviews but am compelled to for Miller Street Dance because every bit of my daughter s and my experience with them is not only top notch & efficient, but they re so very warm, friendly, & instruct the kids in a nurturing, constructive way! We moved here from Chicago, where we had become accoustomed to many world class businesses, & have found Miller Street to be nothing short of outstanding!

My daughter started dance at another studio and we switched to MSDA after a few years due to better scheduling. We quickly learned that we made a great decision. This studio has the most professional staff. Teachers love the kids and they teach technique, responsibility and fun. The kids learn to actually dance, not twerk! My daughter is always encouraged, even though she's not on the competition team. In 6 years, I've not once seen a teacher favor a particular child. In addition, they creatively managed through covid-19 putting on a limited recital. Can't say enough good things!! Love MSDA!

My daughter started attending dance classes here in August. She goes every week very excited about class. She says the teachers are very nice, are good dancers and teach well. Her only negative is that she feels that the classes are too short (some only 45 mins) and spend most of the time stretching. Also, that they school is very strict about what to wear to class.

Miller Street is the place to learn dance! About 8 years ago, I had originally signed up my daughter in another dance school that was close to us. She went to one class and I said this was absolutely not the dance school for my daughter. The way they talked to the children there was awful. The next week, She went to a different location of the same dance school and yet again here they were talking to these little children in the same awful way. The week following, I find Miller Street and from the moment that we walked in I knew this was going to be the place for my daughter to learn the art of dance. After my daughter s first class here, I was convinced. The staff and instructors here are amazing, friendly and talented! I will drive the distance just to have my daughters learn at Miller Street!

Mommy, why didn t my teachers think I was good eno...

Mommy, why didn t my teachers think I was good enough to dance on the big stage tonight? No mother should ever have to hear her child ask that question. But that s exactly what my daughter kept repeating as she uncontrollably cried herself to sleep last night. She was beyond excited to put on her costume and finally show her parents and extended family her tap and ballet routines that she had worked so hard on all year. But that excitement was quickly shattered when upon arrival at her recital she was told that she would not be allowed to perform. Her recital had been pushed out by two months, and she had not been able to attend the additional classes that were added to continue preparing for the event. These practices were never on the original schedule, and I had been assured that this will not affect her doing recital when I initially raised that she would be unable to participate over the summer. But yet there she was, bawling her little eyes out in the middle of the lobby as she watched her team on the big screen performing on the stage without her. Meanwhile, the teachers and staff whom she had looked up to for the last 3 years, just stood by and watched, not saying a word to console her. So we left with her spirit crushed and a new skepticism now about how the adults she thought she could count on could so easily let her down. I could understand if she were a teenager competing and needed the extra practice to be able to perform well. But she s 5! Young girls that age deserve coaches and instructors that will build up their self-esteem and encourage their desire to be a part of a team not bench them simply because they couldn t attend a couple weeks of practice that weren t even initially planned. No little girl should have to experience the kind of embarrassment and shame that my daughter did. Unfortunately she was nothing more than another number on their dance floor and a check in their bank account each month.

Worst dance studio ever! We moved from NY last yea...

Worst dance studio ever! We moved from NY last year and in spite of heads-up from several friends we still decided to give Miller street a try only because of the convenient location. At every step of the way I have only had bad experiences with them. Extremely mediocre classes, huge class size, money making tactics and rude management. After the recital last week when I picked up my 5yr old her hair was loaded with hair spray. I emailed Miller street to make a note going forward that no teachers or backstage moms can use any products on my kids without my consent since I don't like to use toxic products on my kids. I got a very arrogant response from Gina that its my responsibility to update her allergy chart. I said its not about allergies but use of toxic products on my child. And to which they responded that they want to terminate their relationship with us. Are you for real? Well I didn't care about the relationship since I had already signed up at another studio but what bothers me is their arrogance instead of a simple apology. Well good luck with all your arrogance MILLER STREET and remember KARMA!!!

Fantastic studio with friendly and caring staff and teachers! Our daughter took jazz and hip-hop classes at the Baxter location and learned so much in such a short time! The class sizes and lessons were perfect for her age/skill level. Class prices were very reasonable as was the price of the costume she needed for recital.

Miller Street is a wonderful dance school. Not only is the dance instruction very high quality, the studio is run very professionally. They have provided constant communication during COVID-19, and have quickly adjusted to each phase. This business is very well managed, and cares about students. My daughter loves her classes!
