Great adult leagues, and good open skating. Have taken my 4yr old daughter to the classes too and she loved it.
Great adult leagues, and good open skating. Have taken my 4yr old daughter to the classes too and she loved it.
Has 2 indoor skating rinks and an indoor olympic speed skating oval. During an olympic year it is not uncommon to see world class athletes from multiple countries training on the rink. The size of the oval makes this a great place to skate.
Busy open skate but that is expected. The ice patrol guards are a little rough around the edges but I know they are just doing their job. Skate was fun!
its awesome here but the people who work here are rude."
To skate: Good ice quality on both ice rinks as well as the speed skating ring. Most of the staff is extremely friendly and knowledgeable, while sharing their passion for any of the sports on ice.
The only complaint is the journey required to get to the bleachers. You must go downstairs, through the double doors, back up the stairs, then walk between the boards/benches and inside of the speed skating rink.
Great place to walk and run. You can even ice skate.
We live in Ottawa, Canada and Milwaukee is the only ice that we can get to easily for long track training. This will be the third time in a year and we will be here another two times before the end of 2019. Great facility and very helpful staff. We will be back!
Prices are good and reasonable, you can also watch free hockey games. Big place not crowded
Great place to get a run in when the weather doesn't cooperate.
The track is more than a quarter mile, so you can do a long run without feeling like you're on a hamster wheel and the cool temps are perfect for running.
World class facility. Need hockey goal video though. One goal was definitely in and was not called, very young ref.
Went to meet up with a friend who's son plays hockey and soccer there.
The Pettit is the training center for the U.S. Olympic skating team and other nations use it as well. The inside of the skating area is set up with a huge track that makes up the circumference of the center. Two full size hockey rinks are located in the middle of the building. Around the hockey rinks is the ice skating area. At certain times (check the schedule as times vary during different parts of the year and week), the Pettit is open to the public both for ice skating and for use of the walking/running track. They also offer the option of rentals for parties. Food and drinks can be purchased as well. The second floor holds a mini Hall of Fame museum. The Pettit offers skating lessons and hockey leagues play here as well. The facility has plenty of parking and the building is handicap accessible.
Was there for hockey games really heat place. Indoor walking track, 2 ice rinks and speed skating track.
The Pettit National Ice Center is a true gem. Milwaukee is very, very lucky to have this landmark athletic facility.
Just watched the US Olympic Speed Skating Qualifiers. Super fun!
Great Milwaukee asset and an Olympic training center.
I love that non skating chaperones could walk along side their little one throughout the track until they learn how to skate on their own. I do wish they had those skating "helper" or wallers whatever you call them for kids and adults who want to learn how to skate.
Took daughter and grandkids for open skate
So fun!
It's the most ghetto ice arena I have been to, and the wood bleachers stink and are illegal with no yellow caution tape on different level of steps and I went down one level accidentally and AL. Ost got hurt, a big OSHA violatjon
Incredible facilities for ice training. Eye opener for people from the south
Great indoor track. 447 meters per lap and three lanes wide
I use the Pettit primarily for running during extreme heat and cold. The newer track is great! The track is 3 lanes and during peak times can get pretty busy at times. Badgerland Striders members get half off of admission to the track as well.
This is not a great place to practice for figure skaters during public skating hours. The ice does not get coated enough and it s unsafe because it s way too bumpy. It also dulls out your skates faster. Since the ice is a big oval you don t really have your own place on the ice to practice on since people will get in your way. I don t intend on coming back here to practice.
Awesome facility. Date nights with the wife, family fun skating, and you can watch hockey games for free!
Saw the US speed skating Olympic trials here over the weekend. Awesome experience to watch a race for the first time.
If you want a good seat (for this kind of event) get here as soon as doors open.
Best hockey in Wi. From the professional AHL talent, down to the beginner squirt level! Some of the best in the NHL have skated these rinks, the Milwaukee Admirals(Nashville Predators farm team) practice here when they're not on the road. Come on down and join the adult beer league and see how well these old farts skate circles around people! Fun for all ages! Watch, play, ref, fight, skate laps on the Olympic size speed rink... you can do it all at the Pettit National Ice Center, See ya there! GO GUZZLERS!
I was treated very poorly by a staff member. I go to the pettit every week. Today I was waiting while sitting in a chair in the entrance when an older woman came over and told me I had to leave because I hadnt paid to be inside the building. I wasnt being disruptive or doing anything wrong. Just waiting. Im glad she spared me the cost of using the facility. I wont be going there again.
Love this place the loop is auper fun to skate and a good environment with People skating at their own pace
Good family outing. Skate rentals are an additional fee beyond the entrance free.
Nice place to skate but they run out of sizes to rent and some of the skates are really old and very dirty.
We had a wonderful Christmas experience with the entire family until we got back to our car and saw our drivers side window smashed. We went back into the Petit Center to call the police and review the video camera footage. Unfortunately, we were instructed to call the police ourselves (but they probably won't come out during the holidays). And the video footage could not make out the license plate, although we did learn it was a RAV 4 white or silver vehicle. Please be careful, especially if you have out of state license plates.
Great place for a nice date. We'll definitely return.
Watching the kiddos in hockey is great. No complaints about this beautiful facility.
Great place to get a walk in on a cold snowy morning. Great staff working there.
A quieter weekday morning was a great way to try out the skating again with friends!
Building could use a re vamp but had a great time skating and watching the Olympic team practice
Went with a lot of my friends and we had a blast its an awesom way to spent a day
Fun place and only 1 of 2 indoor 400 meter ice rinks in the United States. Yes, there are only 2 in the US and one is right here in Milwaukee. Super friendly staff and great programs for the entire family (especially the West Allis Speed Skating Club)
Used the upstairs room to hold a remembrance for a dear friend. While I didn't deal with the center myself. The room was clean and suitable. Price was good. Staff was accommodating. Made things much easier. Thanks Again.
Nice rink. Can't wait for our daughter to start lessons.

Wow, I was shocked to find out that there are no (as in zero) accommodations for handicapped people. I was hoping to bring an 86 year old grandma to watch her grandson play hockey and found out that going up a flight of steps and up steps into the bleachers were the only options. There is a mezzanine but they were not willing to let her view from there. The only option was that they would wheel her across the oval at a specific time AFTER the game started, but then viewing from a wheelchair would mean she'd see the outside of the boards and not the game. This was really disappointing. The very nice person on the phone said the building was built after the ADA laws were enacted. Wow, shame on someone!
Good ice. No bar near the ice rinks for beer league hockey fans
It's a great place to go skating, but every girl I've ever brought here has broken my heart so I just don't have it in me to give it 5 stars. The women who go here are heart breakers, and the skates are a bit uncomfortable. Bring your own if you have them.
I love this ice rink. I came here on vacation and I can t say enough good things about this place. The top floor is absolutely spectacular! I'm really glad I checked it out and gave it my review!
This is an awesome place to have some fun with the kids. The ice is also pretty good but our group doesn't really go there often because there are lots of other people and lots of excitement. There are also some really good burgers on the menu, though.
Seriously, don't go there when you're supposed to be at work. It's very popular with high schoolers and if you're younger than them, you're not allowed in. People are mean to the staff and basically not nice to anyone they meet. Other then bad people, this place is awesome and fun!
Awesome place. A little chilly inside but easy accessible places to sit.
The best rink I've ever been to and really great ice too.
Be careful on the ice . It is a really cool experience if it is your first time and it is pretty easy once you get the hang of it . Also try not to cut yourself on the blade .
Early morning stick handling session is a great way to get back into playing hockey!
It's a great place to skate and go to run. But if your going please bundle up
Well maintained. So big that it's never seemed crowded while I was there.
My favorite place to skate! Always love getting to go on the oval, just wish the zamboni would come around a little more often (every 3 hours seems a tad too long). I'd recommend getting there right when they open for the best ice.
