It's pretty bad that more often than not i have to go to Hillsboro Petland to get what i need because the one in Chillicothe is always out, whether it be crickets or feeder mice. Isn't the headquarters of Petland in Chillicothe? Then how come they are always out of things i need? I never have this problem in Hillsboro. I like the store in Hillsboro and the people are very nice, but Chillicothe is more convenient for me. Very disappointing to say the least.

I got my puppy from there with the forever friend guarantee saying if he passed away for whatever reason he would be replaced when I was ready, but what they don't tell you when you get your forever friend is you must buy their pet food and supplements every three months or the guarantee is invalid. So my heart was broken twice, but they said they'd be happy to help me qualify to buy another pet...

Was interested in getting a dog. Had purchased two other dogs from here and was the reason I returned. Was quoted a price and left to think about it. Purchasing a dog and taking one home is a huge commitment. Returned a little over a day later fully committed. Puppy was still available, but Pentland wouldn't sell puppy at the price quoted. Left without puppy and feeling like I had just left a puppy mill. Not interested in giving the animals a good home...JUST INTERESTED IN PROFIT.

Aleyson is not only knowledgeable but positively gifted with our fine feathered friends. The rest of the staff was courteous, friendly, and helpful. Will go back to purchase another one next week.

I bought a kitten from here about 1.5 weeks ago. Firstly, she had flees and no body thought to tell me that. However, I got her to the vet quick enough that it wasn t to big of an issue. When you buy a pet, Petland gives you all of this information and let s you know they have a partnerships with a local vet and the first health check visit is free (if within first 4 days). However, they also tell you that all vaccinations and needed medications are covered. That is false. Anything prescribed in the first visit is free, but any vaccinations or medicine after that is at your own expense. My kitten is still very young so she needs multiple vaccinations and Petland said they would be free but the vet said many many people are under that assumption but Petland seems to lie about that little (expensive) detail.

My family likes petland as does most. They had a handful of baby bearded dragons which I love. A few water dragons, spiders, and turtles. They have a pretty good little fish selection also. Of course the dogs n cats and birds are the main attraction. My kids play with the mice, hamsters, and ferrets. Has a lot of parking and really never over crowded unless its mid day on the weekend.

My wife and I purchased our Miniature Schnauzer Jack before Christmas a couple years ago. We kept up on our end of the bargain about purchasing the over priced dog food, vitamins, and supplements. We did everything by the book, even drove 45 minutes to take him to Petlands recommended vet for his check ups, wormers, etc. Then just a couple of weeks ago, Jack chased after some deer and they kicked him and he died from his injuries. As instructed by Petland, I called Solutions to see what I needed to do, if anything, to see about getting another puppy, because Jacks best friend Sally was devastated and seemed lost without him. They asked me some questions and then told me to take him to the vet (45 minutes away) to have the vet confirm his microchip and that he was dead, after that I could do with him as I wished. So i called the vet and told them I was coming and what I needed done. We made the drive with Jacks body wrapped up in a tote in the back of our van. When we got there, the lady came out, carried him inside and the vet checked him. Later that day the vet sent Solutions and letter confirming everything they needed to know, or so we were told. When we got home my little girls, along with my wife and I, emotionally buried our family pup who truly became our best friend, and made a nice little memorial for him in our back yard that we can see from our back window.

The NEXT EVENING, Solutions called and said they have been in contact with Petland and Petland is refusing to honor their part without a necropsy. I explained to her he was already buried and that I am self employed, and with this virus and everything else going on, my business is struggling to pay the bills let alone to get a Necropsy done on our pup. I simply could not afford it. We went back and forth for awhile with Petland and it came down to that they WILL NOT honor their part of the deal. So now, I am left with a very unhappy and emotional family, that is grieving from the loss of our puppy, and a petland credit card that I'm still paying on that we used to purchase Jack. I, along with all the members of my large family, will not ever step foot in another petland as long as we live. I am also going to spread word that Petland will not stand by what they say. I have spent A LOT of money with them in my lifetime, and many people I know have too. They have definitely lost business from me and many others. So to anyone who is thinking about buying a puppy from them, BEWARE.

This is essentially the Petland headquarters store as the corporate headquarters is a few blocks away. For southern Ohio this is as close to a free petting zoo as you will get. The animals are clean and seem happy. Almost all the animals can be handled or played with, although in Sept. 2016 they had a Blue Macaw that cost $24000 and understandably was not available for play time. Only 4 stars because their prices are through the roof although they do offer price matching with other stores,

We went to Petland to look around ~ we wanted to replace a pet we had previously lost. We were treated really well and found a suitable pet but we certainly didn't get anything for free. We got a percentage off coupon on our spay/neuter as long as we used a certain veterinarian who was fine. There was no wheeling or dealing as far as the price was concerned. The pup we bought was AKC registerable and microchipped and when we had a problem with the AKC registration, the Petland employee who helped us previously was an excellent source of help. I would definitely purchase a pet from them again. You just have to be careful about the pet you purchase but you have to be careful with that anywhere you buy.

Stay far far away. Petland is notorious for selling puppy mill puppies. Read: sick, mistreated, not genetically tested and $$$$. DO NOT BUY PUPPIES HERE. There are many investigations into Petland. Most recently a store in Frisco, TX by the US Humane Society.

Go to a rescue or reputable breeder. A rescue saves a life and is super cheap. A REPUTABLE breeder provides a health tested dog from a long bloodline. I cannot emphasize enough to stay away from this (and other) Petland store.
