My wife and I purchased our Miniature Schnauzer Ja...

My wife and I purchased our Miniature Schnauzer Jack before Christmas a couple years ago. We kept up on our end of the bargain about purchasing the over priced dog food, vitamins, and supplements. We did everything by the book, even drove 45 minutes to take him to Petlands recommended vet for his check ups, wormers, etc. Then just a couple of weeks ago, Jack chased after some deer and they kicked him and he died from his injuries. As instructed by Petland, I called Solutions to see what I needed to do, if anything, to see about getting another puppy, because Jacks best friend Sally was devastated and seemed lost without him. They asked me some questions and then told me to take him to the vet (45 minutes away) to have the vet confirm his microchip and that he was dead, after that I could do with him as I wished. So i called the vet and told them I was coming and what I needed done. We made the drive with Jacks body wrapped up in a tote in the back of our van. When we got there, the lady came out, carried him inside and the vet checked him. Later that day the vet sent Solutions and letter confirming everything they needed to know, or so we were told. When we got home my little girls, along with my wife and I, emotionally buried our family pup who truly became our best friend, and made a nice little memorial for him in our back yard that we can see from our back window.

The NEXT EVENING, Solutions called and said they have been in contact with Petland and Petland is refusing to honor their part without a necropsy. I explained to her he was already buried and that I am self employed, and with this virus and everything else going on, my business is struggling to pay the bills let alone to get a Necropsy done on our pup. I simply could not afford it. We went back and forth for awhile with Petland and it came down to that they WILL NOT honor their part of the deal. So now, I am left with a very unhappy and emotional family, that is grieving from the loss of our puppy, and a petland credit card that I'm still paying on that we used to purchase Jack. I, along with all the members of my large family, will not ever step foot in another petland as long as we live. I am also going to spread word that Petland will not stand by what they say. I have spent A LOT of money with them in my lifetime, and many people I know have too. They have definitely lost business from me and many others. So to anyone who is thinking about buying a puppy from them, BEWARE.
