I am not using my real name as I don't want them to take even longer on my work, but I need to let everyone know about this firm. They are very slow and low quality. They are about 3 months late in my bookkeeping service and have not filed my taxes either. They are very hard to get a hold of. After finally getting a hold of my bookkeeper, she said they were understaffed and that she was the only one doing the work. She stated they hired a couple additional people who didn't have experience and the firm doesn't have the time to train them so a lot of the work has been put on her. She said they have been assigned some work but because they are not trained, they are working very slow without guidance or mentorship. This is a red flag for me. On top of this, the CPA Peter Holtz himself doesn't have time to get on a call with you. They will tell you only his technicians can help you and these technicians are not CPAs. They are still learning based on my interaction with them. But it doesn't matter that you don't get to actually talk to Peter Holtz himself, because he doesn't listen to you anyway. He like to talk and hear himself talk. Everything important that I told him went in and out the other ear. Useless. When they're done with my work I am going to another firm. This place is overrated.

Love how simple and straightforward Peter has made the accounting process. You can t beat the pricing plus the software he uses makes everything very simple to understand and can be accessed anywhere. I highly recommend Peter for all your accounting and tax preparation

He has a wealth of knowledge and interest in helping all of us entrepreneurs be better at serving our client base by taking on the task of handling our books and tax needs and more. Peter, and his staff are incredibly talented and helpful. You will feel right at home and happy to have him and his staff on your side!

I contacted Peter Holtz in April 2020 to do my business and personal taxes. To date 3/9/2021 they are still not done. I had a great initial consult with Peter who seems very nice and knowledgeable in taxes, someone you would enjoy working with. But, it seems like they have picked up more work than they can handle. So, I would recommend to look elsewhere until they get back on track.

Once again Peter and his team made the tax season process smooth. I can't thank them enough for everything they do.

I am at a loss for words as to where I can start this but I will try and make it short as possible.I switched my small Truck and Trailer repair business to Holtz accounting 10 months ago and used their bookkeeping service for monthly bookkeeping,sales tax, payroll etc..
Lets get one thing straight Peter is a nice guy and he appears very well versed on the tax code but.....just because his name is on the building and the invoices doesn't mean he will oversee your account and make sure what his employee's are doing is correct as he has employee's for that also (maybe he does if you have a big business IDK but he did not on mine).Peter has a large staff of employees that service your account and the employees I worked with have been very unresponsive to emails,calls,and or texts and usually I have to contact them several times to even get a response and even then the follow through is horrible.I won't list every mistake and problem I uncovered on my account as the review will be too long and unproductive.
I will give one recent example of a large mistake.My bookkeeper after multiple emails finally responded to me with a sales tax amount due for the quarter of $1961.When I questioned the amount and asked how she came up with the number she replied that she would have to get back to me.Two days later she sent a spread sheet showing her calculations and I spotted the problem immediately but then asked her why she didn't just run a report in Xero and get the amount in a few minutes?She replied that that's how another bookkeeper told her how to do it.The supervisor got involved and I ended up paying $1030($931 less!!).Now as it turns out she must of submitted the first figure to the BOE as I got a notice for underpayment of taxes and a penalty.They did say they will straighten it out and I'm sure they will but this example shows how you need to pay attention to what is going on and not just blindly write checks they say are due.
In summary I though I was paying an expert to keep my P&L up to date,manage my account and give me some guidance along the way and I was sadly disappointed.Peter is too busy managing his own business to worry about your small business.His employees know less then I do about accounting and made mistake after mistake.If you don't know what your numbers are or where things stand this firm will be perfect for you as you will never know the difference and its reasonably priced also but if you want a Professional CPA to guide you and help with your business I suggest looking for a smaller firm where the CPA actually works on your account and interacts with you via phone and email.His prices are probably too cheap for that to happen here but I didn't negotiate the price as that's what they offered.
I am now in the process of moving my books back to QB from Xero and to a new CPA a process I hope none of you ever have to go through.

We had our first meeting with Peter Holtz a few months ago and since then it has been a great experience. He and his staff are very knowledgeable and resourceful. They have been patient with us when answering questions as well as giving advice when we are unsure. His staff is very responsive, professional and very helpful. As a business owner we have to be very carful with making these kind of commitments but obtaining services with Peter Holtz has definitely put us at ease knowing we will be ok with them on our side.

Unfortunately we have had very little communication with them in dealing with our issues, running payroll twice for the same paycheck, running an unscheduled payroll, six months late in reconciling 2019 books, business and taxes untouched, and now liens because of unrecorded taxes paid. Every time it was blamed on a new tech . I have left several messages and several contact forms to help resolve these. Crickets!!
I do not recommend!!
