Peoria Marriott Pere Marquette and Courtyard Downtown Review

A hotel is a hotel mostly but here's a quick overview.
1. Entire floor smelled like BO
2. AC stopped working in the middle of the night, couldn't sleep
3. No TV guide, an engineer had to bring us a paper channel guide
4. On demand movies didn't work (since March of last year) yet front desk just sent up engineer
5. Dated but adequate
6. Parking on site but tough to get to (down elevator, through lobby, up stairs, through pedway, downstairs)

We always stayed next door at the Courtyard when in Peoria. Decided we wanted to try the Pere next door this time. The woman who checked us in was nice. However the woman next to her M***y was very rude and unfriendly. We requested to be in neighboring rooms to our family and were responded to rudely with a "how dare you ask for that" disgusted type of response. Mind you, the hotel was nearly empty. Some minor cleanliness items noted in the rooms. No pool, hot tub, breakfast etc was real bummer. We will stay somewhere else next time.

Returned after a night on the town to two women fighting in lobby. Desk clerk seemed more entertained looking to stop it. Also, asked for a bell hop and was told they'd send a someone to help and no one came. Desk clerks seemed annoyed that I'm nearly deaf and I announced myself as such.

Not at all impressed. We booked an extra night because there were no available early check-ins. We checked in around 5pm Friday night, well after check out, and got a dirty room. There was makeup on the bathroom counter, trash in a turned over trash can, and black hair all over the floor. They (the manager, not front desk staff) promptly moved us to a new room, directly next to the elevator, unfortunately. This room seemed great until we realized the a/c didn t work for more than 5 minutes at a time (and only if it had been shut off for 10 minutes). We had to ask twice that maintenance come in, and when he did come in (around 9pm Saturday night) he told us if the a/c didn t work after the reset it wouldn t work period. Well we were headed back out and didn t know until 2am that it didn t work at all. It made for an extremely uncomfortable stay and all the front desk had to say about it at check out was we re sorry about that, that had to be uncomfortable!! Other guests with us, in separate rooms, also checked into dirty rooms & when housekeeping came they did nothing but remake the upturned bed. One room didn t even have trash cans. The desk staff was mostly friendly and helpful. They didn t do much to offer help with the room situations. The noise wasn t awful, but floor 9 (in the hall) reeked of stale weed the entire weekend. The elevators are painfully slow and not having a microwave kinda sucks especially with a toddler.

I do not have enough words for the front desk staff and their amazing service. My father passed away a couple days ago and we had a lot of changes and rooms that needed to be booked. There was a lot of accommodating we asked for and they never hesitated to help. The entire front desk staff made the stay easy and stress free. My family and I thank you so much and we were very lucky to be served so well! Thank you!

Stayed two nights in this hotel. I purchased the room on Priceline a month earlier but the hotel double charged me for this room after I already paid for it. I had to dispute the charge with my bank. The room was dirty and had no toilet paper in the bathroom nor did it have a trash can. This place is less that stellar to say the least.

300$ item stolen from room and nothing was done about it. We know for a fact it was left on nightstand. We went to breakfast, and it was gone. Manager claimed security will be in at 3, and they can review who went in your room . We came back at 4. Security had not even reviewed, and no one had been questioned. When security reviewed, they said no one entered the room which is just impossible. The item was sitting on charger on nightstand prior to breakfast and gone when we got back. We tore room and our bags apart just in case and nothing. So clearly some lucky staff member has figured a way to steal and not get caught, but management didn t care. As if computers are always correct? Management/security was no help. They claimed no one would enter our room due to covid, so I was less careful about leaving items out. Learned my lesson. If you value your belongings, hide them well or don t take the risk.

What a spectacular breakfast! I got the Marquette hash browns were perfectly crunchy, eggs, bacon, fancy marmalade excellent breakfast, perhaps unbeatable at this price. OJ was also on point.

I spent this past weekend at the Peoria Marriott Pere Marquette Hotel and the facilities and common areas were beautiful. However, my room was not. There were burn marks on the walls and damaged ceilings. The bed had stains on them as well. I wanted to speak with someone about my room during check out but I was told to leave a review online instead. I found out that I was not able to do so because I never received my "stay survey", as they call it. I was basically given miss information in addition to having a less than satisfactory room experience! I will not be staying here in the future!

Reserved a room with bathtub, did not get it and was told they don't have tubs in single bed rooms when we arrived. Shouldnt have let us book a room with a tub and a single bed if you don't have them.. then had to pay 4 dollars for a cup of coffee but atleast we paid an outrageous price for nothing we wanted.. save your money and go to super 8 atleast they have bathtubs and coffee
