Just witnessed what looks like a staff member slam a walking by patron to the ground. Didn't see patron get loud or violent. Paramedic and police are here now. May 26th.

It sadd how this shelter charging people to live here when they trying to get on their own feet they take all your money. So u will never get on ur own. First time hearing a shelter charge

Nice working atmosphere and serving the people was showing me alot from the little things that I do

1. Kids Run wild, only 1% of the residents parent their child/children. 2. Even prison has microwaves. 3 The light skinned older lady at the desk is a busy body..she will cause problems for you if she can. 4. Even if it's your first day, they write you up the very first time you forget something or make a mistake.

I have stayed here and it was ok only thing is some of the people who stayed here were so ignorant and rude and so was their children. If it weren't for them i might have had a better stay while i was there.

They would be alright if they didn't take all your money they don't care if you have 4,5,6,10 kids that need things they take it all and send you to go beg Mary Jo sad but true hell I might as well go ask Mary for a place to stay since I gotta stand in her line and beg for every damn thing the county really needs to do better.

Parking is currently available at a garage which is offered by Dennison. Psp is generous during Christmas and birthdays. They need to accept snow pants and water proof gloves to the children. They do have some civil rights issuses while respecting certain rights to access to allergy and medical friendly foods through the USDA and will retaliate if you complain.

This agency run by criminals scammer who use this organization to scam $$$$funding from the government agencies and from private entities innocently think they helping poor people.

A good place for families to volunteer. Staff are very friendly. Place is very clean. You can pick breakfast or lunch to volunteer to feed the very friendly people in need. The kids and families served are very thankful. A good experience for the young ones

A Temporary Place ta Call Home....But Temporary Is The Main Word....

You get a room and have to check in before 9:45pm revoucher every week so you can stay in the shelter. You do not get any of your benefits. They have a park onsite the food is kinda nasty so make sure you bring in snacks juicd pop ect... But you cannot bring in fastfood.. that just my experience being here at the shelter... Just to help whoever is trying to get in at psp shelter

You have a place to sleep and feed three meals a day. Helps with housing, clothes, shoes, daily activities, etc.

They do good work for homeless parents and their children.

Homeless Shelter for people in need for place to eat and sleep. Very good place for people in grave need for shelter.

It's a nice place we liked it there going to a nice trade joes to get food on a nice walk and coming back happily.

I called on Wednesday regarding donations and possibly volunteering. I spoke with the Receptionist andriana she was so well spoken an gave very good insight about the shelter. I didnt get to speak with the volunteer coordinator they had already left for the day. Seems like a very resourceful place for families in need. Keep up the great work!

I disliked it because the staff are under trained,they steal,and the rooms have beds but downstairs they have a clinic and a nice lady who calls taxis and ubers if your kids miss the bus

Was a nice shelter ... Helped with everything you could have possibly needed. They put me in touch with people that other agencies said it would take months to get into.

Hate this place rooms are cold, they take all your money when working slow on helping u get housing, u have to work extra hard to get out of this place, rude staff

My family was one of the many as I was told by pat the manager of the hennipen co shelter team. She said she had gotten a long list from people serving people of familys restricted from all hennipen co shelters now as is the rule. See when u are in a shelter and you are restricted hennipen county says you are restricted from all shelters there is no appeal no accountability just the decision of in my case a woman who has refused to meet me on several occasions and at the time (1030pm christmas eve) was at home when she directed 2 minneapolis police to tresspass my family 2 adults and my 6yrold daughter we peacefuly packed what we could carry and were marched out the front door for claims that were made but unproven and when questioned un answered...we have 72hrs to figure out how to retrive the restof our things and must request a police esscort to do so. So this private company who has housed us for 5 months decideds to evict us for false reasons at 1030 pm christmas eve and now because of there accusations that are not leagal finding nor investigated at all simply decided by a manager of a company now that decided what help the state I live in will give my family....when did america throw the judical system in the trash can...how can my family be evicted by police force without legal process? How can a company run a homeless shelter that demands 105.69(for a family of 3)per night times how ever many times it fits into our pay checks(we have recipts of when we paid) claim to help familys then once they have taken everything from people who have so little to begin with just toss them out on christmas eve.......how is this legal american ethical humane ect? How in this country? How is this standard procedure for people serving people? what country is this? How come this place is allowed to suck federal and state money in by the boatload and no one cares????????? I have 30 plus hours of audio recordings and stacks of emails and other paperwork to back all of this up.....please make the people who profiteer off familys in need accountable for there actions please dont turn a blind eye to a corporation making a mockery of our government....this is disgusting and un American

Because they take 90% of your income, everything from government assistance to your employment income. Out of a $1400 dollar check they only gave me 75 dollars, its bot design for you to get on your feet its design to keep people there, they are robbing people out of there lives and little hope.

My experience with people serving people is a great one. It makes me sad hearing people complain and write bad reviews on this place. This is the best shelter I've ever seen or heard of! I've been in other shelters that weren't half as accommodating. You have to do things for your self. This is not intended for you to sit inside the building and complain. Its designed for you to go out and get what you need to and go where you need to so that you can get your life in order. There are food options. No it's not like when you cook for yourself. But you have a couple of choices and its definitely edible. I feel it should almost be a requirement to go to other shelters in the area so one can have appreciation of all the help resources and comforts you have access to here. Thank you staff

Wow terrible place. Don't go here. Save your money and go to another family shelter. Use your resources and find d Better paying jobs. Especially because I graduated college and you work hard for your money. Get a case manager or social worker to help you find housing. Gotta put in the work.

this place is a BIG joke. if your looking for shelter please think twice. the staff members are unprofessional, the the rooms smells like rotten eggs. if you have a JOB, they will take 100 % of your check. they should change their name from "people serving people" to PEOPLE SCREWING PEOPLE"

I am currently a resident at PSP and I can't say anything wrong with the way things are organizes here. I feel that PSP has done more for my grandson and I without a second thought. I am a 22 year Army Vet and have never seen this type of help in the civilian world mostly in the Nation's Capitol, Washington DC. Where I resided before. I say the living conditions are awesome. My advocate Ms. Ana is always there for all of the residents assigned to her and will advocate for us in a heart beat. Ibn The supervisor, knows his job and does it well. He is fair and listens to the residents every needs and concerns. The medical staff has, and does given professional medical care I have ever seen. I wanted to just give up and return to Washington DC until I was sent to this shelter with my grandson. I am now employed with the best paid position ever after the Army. I love Minneapolis and will never ever forget how much PSP has worked so hard in making a safe and stress free place to temporarily reside. Thank you PSP, I love PSP!

Until you donate your time and resources to address homelessness, you are indebted to NGOs like this who deliver care, services and opportunities for those who have nothing.

Had an amazing experience volunteering with my daughter here. Staff were WONDERFUL!! We will be back to help out alot more! Can't wait!

Me and my sons moved to Minneapolis, MN in late 2010. I'd come from a traumatic situation, and I was so stressed. I had never lived in another state before, and I was really afraid to pursue a new life. I was emotionally hurting. I didn't have a place to live, no money, of course no job. However, for the rest of my life, I will not forget the compassion shown to me by People Serving People. We were blessed to be sheltered at PSP. The staff, and the volunteers were so amazing. I especially remember Amy, and staff members, volunteers, and the security, just amazing people! I received help to help myself... Thank you and GOD Bless You...

I am quite grateful for this place, and everybody who helped me along the way. Unfortunately, I was unwilling to do the things necessary in order to stay there. I made a mockery of the system - I was one of the ones who, perhaps, makes people who work here less tolerant of clients. They provided me with all of the necessary things in life, food for my infant son, clothing, bus tokens, hot meals 3 times a day. The people here genuinely care. Unfortunately for most, there is no magical wand to wave to ensure everyone receive everything that they want. Need? Yes. Want? No. This is not meant to be a 5 star hotel or a free apartment to live in. If you are in need of shelter, I do recommend this place to get by. Please keep in mind that this is not a permanent solution, only a temporary fix to help you get back on your feet. If you are willing to put in the work consistently, day after day, there are programs to help you find housing as well. But you have to do the work.
I have not found it necessary to stay in a shelter since 2011. My son will be 10 this October, is happy, healthy and spoiled rotten. I have graduated college and have a good job, and pay my bills on time. I'm grateful that people like this have been a part of my journey to pass me along to better things in life.

They were liars, the staff accused us of stealing there dirty torn and donated linen, the kids caught food poisoning due to the silverware being unclean and the rooms were always hot or cold.There is no structure and the supervisors are rude and unprofessional.

Place absolutely SUCKS. How are you "helping people get on their feet" but taking their entire check when they get a job??

PSP is a great place for families to get back on their feet they feed at least 300 families 3 hot meals a day offer some amazing groups that cover many topics like parenting mental health and chemical awareness the staff are great

i serve dinner here on sundays and it s very safe and fun to serve

Amazing staff running programs focused on educational programs, career services, childcare, and mental health services all while performing their primary duty as a family shelter. If you are looking to donate to a worthy local cause, look no further.

We serve homeless families with children or single pregnant women, must go through Hennepin County Shelter teams.

I work in the area so i walk past this place often. Its always a hassle when i walk by this place. People are always loitering and begging for money and there's always the rancid smell of plant based drugs from cars parked near this place.

Great place. Secure and safe building. Clean and well maintained. All the staff are knowledgeable and friendly.

It's sad that their are organizations such as this that are in the business of stopping a child from seeing their loving father. That they create policies barring the child from spending the time that they are deserved with the father. That their only response to this is, that if i don't like it I can take the mother to court and get more custody dispite the fact that arrangements have been in place for quite some time. their policy is That the child gets the absolute minimum with the father. That they enable the mother as much as possible financially supporting them but have zero consideration for the fathers financial situation. Sexist. Its sickening

They have restrooms, but refused to allowed a pregnant woman to urinate.
