I went to the Pennsylvania Convention Center over four days with 20,000 others for the World Meeting of Families. It is a meeting of Catholics from all over the world that ended with a visit from Pope Francis.
This is a huge Convention Center, stretching the city blocks from East to West and then an off shoot at the eastern end that goes south for one or two blocks.
The convention center has a huge room where the full sessions were held and had no problems holding the large crowds with seats to spare. The building temperature was perfect with such a large crowd. There were enough bathrooms that there was never a long line and enough escalators that there was never a wait.
The convention center struggled was bottle necks. The hallways leading from one ballroom to three next were simply not wide enough to handle everyone moving in one direction at the same time, and even worse when a couple people were going the other way. The other struggle was with wifi, it simply couldn't handle the number of people using it. Streaming anything was impossible, even loading a website took forever. I finally ended up disconnecting wifi and using T-Mobile, which worked great.
Overall, the convention center was great, it just struggled with having such a larger convention that had everyone in one place going in the same direction at the same time. Once you got past the bottle neck, it was very easy to get around. I don't think they can fix that, but wifi must be updated.
Overall, I'd be happy to attend another conference there.
The convention center is huge! We went for PaxUnplugged and only saw maybe half of the building. The exhibition hall was well lit and well ventilated. The bathrooms are clean enough. One downside was that they limited the entrances you could use. So despite it being cold at night we had to walk the length of the building to get in because a guard at the door told us we couldn't use the closer door.
Nice and clean. Management staff are very helpful. If you are organizer of events, you need to be careful with the labor unions.
Make trucks who deliver park in no parking zones out on the busy as street and they don't care. Not only that but I was there about 6hrs to get in and out
Awesome place. Great events. Highly recommended when visiting Philly.
Great venue. Huge place. Staff was friendly and helpful.
Great events. Parking too expensive, take the train.
Went to comic con and had a blast. The place was huge.
I have been here for a number of events, all of which have been delightful. Not sure if that is because of the organizers or on the part of the convention center but still worth noting. Also, the venue is up-to-date and large enough to flow through for those major events. Parking is available in the nearby surrounding area so take your time and find cheaper parking where able.
I was very excited to be here for MUNA convention 2018. It s a very nice place for having big event. Huge place. Lots of people fit here. Well organized places. Stuffs are very nice and friendly. We were their for two days. It s a great experience to be there in a great event for America muslims. We got hotel and parking right next to it.
Business or celebration, The Philadelphia Convention center has it all.
A very nice venue. Plenty of nearby parking. I've been to flower show in the past. This one was Wizard World Comic Con
Good to attend conferences and It has flexibility in finding parking in close.
First time ever there went there for Comic-Con it was very well run the price was moderate not expensive had a great time definitely can't wait to go back next year
Very easy to find your way parking could be a little bit closer but it's Convention Center just like any other one.
It's a great location for conventions, trade shows, and the like. The staff are very nice and helpful.
DIVINE flower show, but 2017 will still be hard to beat.
Nice day with my daughter..Nice visit.
Too many high priced ventors.
Loved the butterflies.
The best way to get there is to take the train and get off at 11th st stop and walk down 11th st to Arch st. I was lucky that the day and time that I went because it wasn't crowded.
Excellent for large conventions android Reading Terminal Market across the Street!
Went for the flower show. Absolutely mesmerizing! Go early so you can snag early bird pricing.
always friendly helpful staff hope to be back for the flower show
Surprisingly dated seeming for a center opened in the mid 1990s. Architecturally undistinguished.
This is truly one of the largest convention centers in the world. It is beautifully designed and very clean.
Well designed facility.
We come for the Flower Show every year. The building is designed for very large events. Well marked facilities. One lactation pod that I could see. Only complaint - I had to leave the convention center area to the main hallway to find a water fountain. None seen near the large, well maintained, well lit toilet facilities. Another plus: I love bring able to nip over to Reading Terminal Market for lunch.
Excellent Philadelphia venue for conventions and exhibits.
Easy to navigate and access from the train station. Lots of locations in town are walking distance. The conventional halls are clean and updated. Great experience.
Well maintained facility. As a word of caution bring your own drinks. One place in the Grand Hall charged $11 for a bottle of juice and a soda.
Flower Power 2019 flower show was great. The convention center is laid out well, has parking available close by and an easy to find will call area. We had a "no problems at all" day at the show.
It was clean, and bathrooms in good condition. Staff unhelpful and unable to give simple directions.
Average convention center, very large. Nearby Chinatown and Reading Terminal Market for food.
Philly flower show.
Great way to enjoy 3 hours
Great place! L shape made getting around very easy. Food close by.
I tell you what, it's definitely a place that exists!
Massive hall. Good number of rest rooms and exits. Good for hosting hundreds of heads
Although very spacious with some of these events there could be a little better signage so that the people working to direct the crowds don't have to be yelling directions. The gentleman opening the door working is scalping tickets by the way!!
Easy to find, good transportation options, big place!
Travel every year for Auto Show. Excellent staff when have questions. Only downfall is vendor foods are outrageously priced. $5.50 for a 20oz soda. And $5.00 a hotdog is crazy.
Very Large facility. Lots of areas to see and always something new to look at. Very happy to see the new Buick cars as well as Chrysler Jeep and Toyota. Did some eye shopping and I think I found my next brand new ride it was a great time. Can't wait till next year
Great place for large events such as the Philly Car Show. Very easy to navigate, and convenient restroom locations.
Hosts two of my favorite shows...the flower show and the auto show. WiFi is sketchy and the concessions way over priced.
I always go to the autoshow and flower show ever year......wish more concepts and attraction came to Philly for the autoshie though...
Great venue in Philadelphia for any type of large event! Enjoyed the Philadelphia flower this year very much!
Haven't been there in like 30 years bit still seems the same.
Had my graduation here. The food was ok and the staff was wonderful. I had a great time.
Excellent infrastructure. I was there at EDUCAUSE 2017
I worked a show here and the people who served us were great
Took grandchildren to dinosaur show. Virtually no signage in a building that is multiple city blocks in size. We had to ask directions multiple times.
Dinosaur show was OK, nothing great, but kids had a good time.
Was there for. PHILA Flower show.
Was very disappointed.
I worked there and i think they do a pretty good job cleaning the dishes. I noticed they 9ften supply vegan and kosher meals. And I appreciated the area for employees to eat.
I guess what you're there for but the place is gigantic, had to walk 4 blocks to find the entrance
The events are amazing.. but the center staff is a bust. Very careless.. I know it's hard to deal with customers but for the amount of staff they have working a single section, some doing nothing, they have the opportunity to take turns Being less rude. Their are very nice people also which is y they get 4 stars.. good is worth more than the bad.
This place absolutely should be closed during the virus epidemic.
The convention needs to improve ADA access. I was on crutches and the Electric cart rental is on the 2nd floor about a third of a mile from 1st floor registration. The store employee wouldn't hold my crutches in the store and suggested leaving them outside the store. Not being willing to chance having someone take them I had to check the crutches about a half mile away on a different floor. This added about 30-45 minutes a day getting to cart storing / getting crutches. I really felt discriminated against because of this. While it's a temporary situation for me it taught me how difficult it is for people with disabilities.
Keeps getting smaller and smaller, what is the deal. The water theme is cool
It's alla Hugh well laid out building, great for the gaming convention that was held there a few weeks ago. They have a food court a coffee stand and a full bar. It is an interesting place to go and see your favourite things, of you are into something and this place is holding the convention then expect it to be big fun and interesting.
Very spacious place, went for Pax Unplugged. Only two problems I had with it is that the food venues (overlook bar and cafe) close at 6-7pm. For conventions that go late this is pretty unacceptable. The other thing is that despite the numerous bathrooms either the toilet paper was missing or the paper towels were. Very frustrating
